According to the materials of criminal case No. 394, in 1942, on the territory of the Alatyrsky district, a native of the Sumy region, I. I. Tereshchenko, created an organization similar in goals and methods of activity to the organization of nationalists of the OUN (an organization whose activities are prohibited in Russia).

Tereshchenko and his accomplices set themselves such goals as the creation of counter-revolutionary nationalist organizations or individual cells, the conduct of active nationalist propaganda, the selection of persons for insurrectionary actions against the Soviet regime, and the conduct of terror against party-Soviet activists.
Members of the criminal group carried out counter-revolutionary work, agitated against the Soviet regime, carried out terrorist acts against party workers, and also prepared for "implementation of an internal uprising and armed struggle against the current regime." It is also proven that they were engaged in murders, banditry, armed robbery, theft, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
It all started with the fact that Tereshchenko escaped from a camp in the Arkhangelsk region in 1942, where he was serving a sentence for leading a bandit group in 1934-1940 in the Sumy region. After escaping, he arrives in the Chuvash ASSR and settles in the Alatyr and Poretsk regions, posing as a foreigner and "organizer of the people in the fight against Soviet power." He and his accomplices from among the local peasants and workers recruited representatives of rural, student youth under "signatures-oaths of cooperation to fight the Soviet regime."
It is documented that young guys were incited to set fire to collective farm houses, distribute counter-revolutionary leaflets, and involve comrades in the ranks of a criminal organization. To create an aura of mystery, they carried out special "communion" of persons for allegiance to the fight against the existing Soviet regime.
In 1946, Tereshchenko, together with his accomplice Kruchinina (call sign Olya), killed the Sustrikov sisters (one worked as a teacher, the other worked as an accountant on a collective farm) because they wanted to report him to the authorities. According to Tereshchenko, "the sisters refused to join [a nationalist organization], and Kruchinina said that they should be destroyed, why feel sorry for them." After the murder, they took possession of their property, bonds and money.
Witness Evdokia from the Poretsky district reported that Tereshchenko introduced himself as "Shurka," told how he "came here to organize the people against the existing order." At the "gatherings" of eight people in which she took part, everyone gave Shurka a signature:
"In addition, these same persons were bound to him by a separate oath of secrecy. This pledge was as follows. Shurka had at that time some kind of divine book and some kind of leaflet with the image of the “savior”. And he gave each of us a kiss of this savior as a sign of keeping the secret in the future. In case of violation - to execute, and that if someone violates, then it costs nothing for him to destroy a person."
In connection with the end of the Great Patriotic War, Tereshchenko began to conduct active propaganda about the inevitability of a new war with America, the death of Soviet power and the need for terror against Soviet party workers. So, on November 7, 1946, with the help of an accomplice, he committed a terrorist act: he killed the chairman of the Voroshilov collective farm from a revolver and seriously wounded the storekeeper. In the archival file, two bullets in the case of murder and attempt were preserved.
The crimes of the bandit group on the territory of Chuvashia did not go unpunished thanks to the security forces. In January 1948, Tereshchenko was detained. During the search, a handkerchief with symbols of nationalist organizations embroidered, a tricolor flag and a trident were found.
Criminal case No. 394 was initiated against Tereshchenko and 13 members of the organization on charges of committing terrorist acts against government officials, calling for the overthrow of Soviet power, counter-revolutionary sabotage, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, robbery and theft. In September 1948, the Military Tribunal of the troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tatar ASSR sentenced the gang members to 5 to 25 years in prison.
It should be noted that the OUN and the UPA "became famous" during the Great Patriotic War for their brutal murders and extermination of the population. US authorities also believe the network "smuggled millions of barrels of oil and laundered tens of millions of dollars" to sanctioned entities, the US Department of Justice’s said.
Uss’s father denounced the arrests as political.
"The political coloring of these accusations is obvious," Alexander Uss said on Telegram.
The arrest comes as Moscow and Washington are in negotiations on a potential prisoner exchange, that could include US basketball player Brittney Griner, sentenced to nine years in prison in Russia for drug trafficking.

[GUARDIAN] Russia has threatened that it will reassess cooperation with the United Nations secretary general, António Guterres, if he sends United Nations experts to Ukraine to inspect drones that western powers say were made in Iran and used by Moscow in violation of a UN resolution.
Speaking after a closed-door UN security council meeting on Moscow’s use of drones, Russia’s deputy UN ambassador, Dmitry Polyanskiy, called on Guterres and his staff to “abstain from engaging in any illegitimate investigation”. He also threatened Russia would withdraw from the grain deal that has allowed Ukrainian grain to be transported out of Black Sea ports.
Polyanskiy insisted the precision weapons had been made in Russia and condemned “baseless accusations and conspiracy theories”.
But Ben Wallace, the UK defence secretary, said Moscow’s reliance on Iranian drones showed the strategic degradation of Russian weaponry, and urged the Iranian government to recognise it should not want to be associated with Russia’s indiscriminate killing of women and children.
The UK foreign secretary, James Cleverly, is expected to join the EU in announcing the imposition of fresh sanctions on three Iranian military commanders, including Maj Gen Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the chief of staff of Iran’s armed forces.
