FTX Held Just $900MM In Liquid Assets Vs $9BN In Liabilities As Video Emerges Confirming Alameda Knew It Was Pilfering Client Funds
[ZERO] On Friday, we first learned courtesy of a mystery twitter account belonging to an anonymous FTX insider, that the now bankrupt crypto exchange held just $900 million in liquid assets (including, among other things, a $7.3 million online bet by Democrat megadonor Sam Bankman-Fried for Trump to lose).

Of the $900 million in liquid assets, the largest portion - or roughly half - was in the form of $470mn of Robinhood shares owned by a Bankman-Fried vehicle not listed in Friday’s bankruptcy filing, which included 134 corporate entities. The liquid assets represent just 10% of the total assets (including $5.4BN in semi-liquid and $3.2BN in illiquid) and is a fraction of the $9 billion in liabilities at FTX which will now make their way through bankruptcy court for the next several years.

The document, which the FT also tracked down on Saturday and discussed here, and which was shared with prospective investors before the bankruptcy, provides a detailed picture of the financial hole in the FTX crypto empire and suggests customers of FTX international may face steep losses on cash and crypto assets they held on the exchange (and speaking of the 134 subs that FTX listed on its bankruptcy filing, the FT notes that the company had incorrectly listing entities it did not own in its initial filing, while as we reported earlier, the exchange suffered an apparent hack on Friday night that drained its balances to zero).

Aside from the spreadsheet shown above, the FT also noted another spreadsheet which references the $5bn of withdrawals last Sunday - which as everyone knows by know were precipitated by CZ telling the world he would pull his money after the "recent revelations" and sparking a bank run on FTX which the exchange did not have nearly the fund to defend against; the sheet also noted a negative $8bn entry described as "hidden, poorly internally labled ’fiat@’ account".

#4  ZERO - FTX Founder Spent $40 Million As Democrat Midterm Megadonor

Leading up to Sam Bankman-Fried's spectacular implosion - in which his firm FTX evaporated billions in wealth after the now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange allegedly commingled client assets with his trading firm into a liquidity crunch - he became the sixth-largest donor in this year's midterm election cycle, giving some $40 million to mostly Democratic candidates and causes.According to Forbes, Bankman-Fried was second only to George Soros among billionaire donors to Democratic groups during the 2022 midterm election cycle.

FTX allegedly loaned Alameda Research - a trading firm founded by Bankman-Fried - roughly $10 billion in client assets, which has landed him under federal investigation by the SEC, CTFC, and the Justice Department - the latter of which already had been working on a months-long investigation, according to the Wall Street Journal. The CTFC, meanwhile, is tasked with regulating certain elements of the crypto markets - including digital assets that are as commodities, and crypto exchanges and clearinghouses.

In late September, Bankman-Fried admitted that his political donations were mostly to Democrats, and Republican recipients were 'targeted'.

Gallagher, Comedian Known for Smashing Watermelons, Dies at 76
By Ethan Shanfeld

[Variety] Gallagher, the inventive prop comedian known for smashing watermelons as part of his act, died Friday of organ failure, his former manager Craig Marquardo confirmed to Variety. He was 76.

Gallagher had been in hospice care in California after suffering multiple heart attacks in recent years.

Born Leo Anthony Gallagher Jr., the mononymous comedian became a household name in 1980 with “An Uncensored Evening,” the first standup comedy special to ever air on Showtime. Gallagher would go on to create 12 more hourlong specials for the network, as well as several popular programs for HBO.

Gallagher’s signature bit involved a handmade sledgehammer he called the “Sledge-O-Matic,” which he would use to smash food onstage and spray it onto the audience. His hammer’s trademark victim was the watermelon. Gallagher also became famous for his witty wordplay and sharp observational comedy.

While his contemporaries went on to host talk shows or star in sitcoms or movies, Gallagher remained on the road in America for nearly four decades, touring steadily up until the COVID-19 pandemic and playing over 3,500 live shows throughout his career. In his later years, Gallagher led a long-running Geico commercial and appeared in his first movie, “The Book of Daniel.” In 2019, he embarked on a farewell tour dubbed the “Last Smash.”

'Handsy' monkey goes wild on former Miss Peru Paula Manzanal in Bali
[NYPOST] It’s not really a trip to Bali without a run-in with a monkey, but an incident with a Peruvian model proves how cheeky the local primates can be.

Footage of a monkey trying to pull down the strapless top of 28-year-old former Miss Peru Paula Manzanal has recently gone viral.

While posing with a monkey in the Indonesian island’s Ubud Monkey Forest, a cheeky long-tailed macaque is filmed trying to yank down Manzanal’s top.

As its attempt to expose the model’s breast fails — the monkey then resorts to violence, hissing and slapping Manzanal in the face before the video cuts out.

DR Congo army clashes with rebels as Angola pursues peace bid
[NATIONAFRICA] M23 rebels
... also known as the Congolese Revolutionary Army, the Tutsi group was founded in 2012 as a sock puppet of Rwanda, which no doubt seemed a good idea at the time. But in less than a year the Congolese army defeated them, and then Rwanda publicly stepped back in response to international pressure. Recently M23 has started acting up again, possibly again at Rwandan instigation...
and DR Congo troops clashed heavily in North Kivu province on Friday as Angola's president pursued diplomatic efforts to bring peace between neighbours Kinshasa and Kigali.

Tensions between DR Congo and Rwanda are at their highest in years, with the DRC accusing its smaller neighbour of backing the M23, charges the Rwandan government denies.

In eastern DRC, locals reported hearing heavy artillery fire around Rugari, in Rutshuru territory, from early morning as the army targeted M23 combatants.

The DRC military had this week deployed Sukhoi-25 jets and Mi-24 helicopters against the M23, a mainly Tutsi Congolese militia.

PEOPLE FLEE FOR SAFETY
The festivities sent more people fleeing for safety, one witness told AFP by telephone from Rumangabo, 10 kilometres (six miles) from Rugari.

"We can hear the sound of the bombing," he said.

Medical sources said at least five civilians, including two children, were killed and 11 maimed in Friday's fighting.

The artillery fire was coming from Kibumba on a main road that runs to the regional capital Goma.

An AFP news hound on the edge of the city saw an army tank and lorry loaded with munitions heading towards the combat zone.

"Fighting continues at Rugari. We are making progress," a security source said.

DORMANT FOR YEARS
But after laying mostly dormant for years, it resumed fighting in 2021, claiming the DRC had failed to honour a pledge to integrate them into the army, among other grievances.

Eastern DRC has been plagued for nearly three decades by gangs, many of them inherited from the wars that bloodied the region in the wake of the 1994 Rwandan genocide.

Angolan President Joao Lourenco was visiting Rwanda on Friday as part of diplomatic efforts to resolve the dispute with the DRC and is due in Kinshasa Saturday.

Kinshasa expelled Rwanda's ambassador at the end of last month, while also recalling its envoy from Kigali.

Lourenco was to hold talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame "as part of the regional efforts to normalise relations between Rwanda and DR Congo", the ruling party newspaper The New Times said.

The meeting comes on the heels of talks between the countries' two foreign ministers who agreed on Saturday to accelerate efforts to resolve the diplomatic crisis.

Brazil's Military Warns of ‘Possible Fraud' in Presidential Election
[SlayNews] Brazil’s military has warned that "possible fraud" may have influenced the country’s controversial presidential election.

The Armed Forces of Brazil has been investigating the election following widespread allegations of fraud after the notoriously corrupt Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva beat incumbent conservative President Jair Bolsonaro.

Following an audit of the election results, the military concluded that there was a "possible security risk" in the country’s voting system.

In a statement on Thursday, the Defense Ministry emphasized that its report had not "excluded the possibility of fraud."

However, officials refused to neither confirm nor deny whether the election was fraudulently rigged.
Stay tuned?

Aslan Gagiev's accomplice convicted of participating in a series of murders
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Gangsters do things like that.
[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced Aslan Dzhioev to 19 years in prison, recognizing him as the leader of one of the gangs of Aslan Gagiev and a participant in 15 murders. The judge took into account Dzhioev's earlier sentence and appointed him a final sentence of 20 years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 6, the Prosecutor General's Office announced that it had approved the indictment in the case of Artur Dzhioev, who, according to investigators, on behalf of Aslan Gagiev, headed one of the gangs whose members from December 2004 to February 2014 committed crimes in North Ossetia, Moscow and the Moscow region murder-for-hire and attempted murder of 17 people. The criminal case of Dzhioev was separated into a separate proceeding in connection with a pre-trial cooperation agreement with him.

On February 21, 2018, Artur Dzhioev was extradited from Greece and placed under arrest in Russia. According to the security forces, he was the "right hand" of Aslan Gagiev. On January 23, 2019, Artur Dzhioev was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony. He escaped life imprisonment thanks to an agreement with the investigation, but this sentence is not the last, other "facts of his criminal activity" will still be tried, the court said.

The court sentenced Artur Dzhioev to 19 years in a strict regime colony, and taking into account the earlier sentence, by partial addition, he was sentenced to a final sentence of 20 years in a strict regime colony with restriction of freedom for two years, the Investigative Committee announced today.

Dzhioev was found guilty of leading a gang - a structural unit of the criminal community, murders, attempted murders, kidnapping and encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer.

Moscow Maxim Nikolaev and his subsequent murder in the Moscow region; attempted murder in 2010 in Moscow of Sergei Beglaryan and his murder in 2012 in Moscow; the murders in 2014 in the Moscow region of Givi Slonov and Timur Ezeev; the attempted murder of Aslan Chelokhsaev in 2006 in the city of Vladikavkaz in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania; encroachment on the life of the head of the Organized Crime Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Mark Metsaev (died)," the Investigative Committee listed.

The criminal case of Aslan Gagiev himself is being considered by the Southern District Military Court.

"To date, 24 members of the criminal community have been sentenced to long terms of imprisonment, including life imprisonment, against 12 members of the criminal community, the criminal case is being considered by the Second Western District Military Court, seven have been put on the international wanted list, and seven have been killed as a result of internal conflicts. in the period from 2010 to 2014," the publication on the agency's website says.

Recall that in 2021 the Supreme Court transferred the case of Aslan Gagiev from North Ossetia to Rostov-on-Don. On October 4 of the same year, Gagiev refused to plead guilty in court, but two days later he confessed to the contract killing of Kazbek Pagiev, Deputy Prime Minister of North Ossetia.

In June 2018, Aslan Gagiev was extradited to Russia from Austria. He is accused of organizing a criminal community, three gangs, arms trafficking and six murders in 2012-2013, according to the biography of  Aslan Gagiev , published on the "Caucasian Knot."

Sam Bankman-Fried Fooled the Crypto World and Maybe Even Himself
by Annie Massa

(Bloomberg) -- Before the world began to grasp the truth about Sam Bankman-Fried -- before the panic, the investigations and, at last, the brutal collapse -- an inkling of doom began to spread through his convoluted crypto empire.

All across FTX, the exchange that had transformed his mere initials into a symbol of a new kind of wealth and power, one question came up again and again: Where is SBF?

Bankman-Fried, current and former employees say, seemed to have disappeared. Then, without explanation, a department nearly missed October payroll. Something was wrong.

Just how wrong is only now becoming blazingly clear. On Friday, after one of the most harrowing weeks in the young, freewheeling world of cryptocurrencies, his digital-asset empire -- 130-plus entities in all -- spiraled into bankruptcy.

The scandal has shocked the crypto players who giddily celebrated Bankman-Fried as the J.P. Morgan of their times and left them grasping for parallels.

Is this crypto’s Lehman Brothers, a tale of unbridled risk? Or is it something darker: an Enron-style fiasco that could now expose rot and wrongdoing? Federal authorities are investigating just that.

As the Chapter 11 filings landed Friday morning, questions were piling up, including the big one: Will some 1 million FTX customers ever get their money back? Some traders sensed trouble long before and ran for the exits before everyone else. Big names in Silicon Valley who embraced Bankman-Fried seem certain to suffer humiliating losses.

By now many of the broad outlines are widely known. Bankman-Fried’s sinkhole of debt, blurred business interests and investigations into whether he misused customer funds.

Iranian exile who got stuck for years in French airport dies
[Rudaw] An Iranian who got stuck for 18 years in a Gay Paree airport, inspiring a Steven Spielberg movie starring Tom Hanks died on Saturday at the terminal, an airport official said.

Mehran Karimi Nasseri died of natural causes just before midday on Saturday in terminal 2F at Charles de Gaulle airport outside the French capital, the official told AFP.

Caught originally in an immigration trap -- unable to enter La Belle France and with nowhere to go -- he became dependent on his unusual place of abode and increasingly a national and international cause celebre.

He called himself "Sir Alfred", and a small section of airport parquet and plastic bench became his domain.

Karimi Nasseri's peculiar story came to the attention of Hollywood director Spielberg, inspiring 2004 film "The Terminal," which starred Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Hanks played a man who becomes trapped at New York's JFK airport when his home country collapses into revolution.

After spending most of the money he received for the film, Karimi Nasseri returned to the airport a few weeks ago, the official said.

Several thousand euros (dollars) were found on him.

Born in 1945 in Masjed Soleiman, in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, Karimi Nasseri, took up residence in the airport in November 1988 after flying from Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
to London, Berlin and Amsterdam in an effort to locate his mother.

He had been expelled from every other country he landed in because he was unable to produce the correct paperwork.

At Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport an informal support network grew up around him, providing food and medical help along with books and a radio.

In 1999 he was granted refugee status and the right to remain in La Belle France.

"I'm not quite sure what I want to do, stay at Roissy or leave," he said after being handed the right to live in La Belle France. "I have papers, I can stay here, I think I should carefully study all the options before making a decision."

He didn't leave then.

"He no longer wants to leave the airport," his lawyer Christian Bourguet said at the time. "He's scared of going."

There's a New Partnership in the Fight for the Senate
[PJ] The red wave we all hoped for didn’t quite materialize on Tuesday night, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep fighting for a red victory.

A Senate runoff in Georgia for the second consecutive election cycle has the nation’s eyes on the Peach State once again. And it’s crucial to rally everyone on the right to vote for Herschel Walker. That’s where a surprising and impressive new partnership is coming into play.

Gov. Brian Kemp is lending his formidable political apparatus to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in order to rally support for Walker and get Georgians out to vote for the football legend.

"Kemp is loaning his get-out-the-vote machine to the Senate GOP’s voter turnout efforts, giving the party entrée to a political team that is increasingly viewed as one of the GOP’s most formidable state operations," reports Politico. "The governor ran a gauntlet this year, prevailing over a Donald Trump-backed primary opponent by a lopsided margin before comfortably defeating Democrat Stacey Abrams in the general election."

McConnell’s Senate Leadership Fund PAC, which ran some compelling radio ads in Georgia during the general election, is bankrolling the operation, while Kemp’s campaign staff and volunteer base will do the work on the ground.

Pleas against Sharia-compliant banking verdict formally withdrawn
Everything within the State [religion], nothing outside the State [religion], nothing against the State [religion].
[Dawn] The State Bank of Pakistain (SBP) and other commercial banks on Saturday finally withdrew their appeals from the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
, challenging the Federal Shariat Court’s (FSC) directions to the government to make the country’s entire banking system completely Sharia-compliant by Dec 2027.

The appeals were taken back in line with a Nov 9 announcement by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar that SBP and the National Bank of Pakistain (NBP) would be withdrawing appeals against the April 28 FSC verdict, which had given the government a five-year deadline to eliminate Riba (interest-based) banking from the country.

Read: Is it possible for Pakistain to shift to an interest-free banking system?

Announced in April by a three-judge FSC bench consisting of Chief Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai, Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwer and Justice Khadim Hussain M Sheikh, the verdict directed the federal as well as the provincial governments to complete necessary legislative amendments to the relevant laws and bring them into conformity with the injunctions of Islam within five years. The FSC also ordered the government to adopt Sharia-compliant modes while borrowing from domestic or foreign sources in the future.

On Saturday, the banking regulator as well as commercial banks, made an application under Order 33 Rule 6 of the Supreme Court Rules 1980 to withdraw appeals pending adjudication before the apex court in which no date of hearing has been fixed so far.

In its appeal, the SBP had contended that being the custodian and regulator of the financial and monetary framework of Pakistain, the bank was deeply committed to ensuring compliance with the injunctions of Islam while protecting the stability and security of Pakistain’s financial sector that functions as part of the global financial system.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
while Islamic modes of finance are a growing area of interest for foreign providers of finance, the adoption of particular modes of finance with respect to any particular advance is not in the hands of the state of Pakistain and its various instrumentalities.

Funding arrangements with international providers of finance are a matter of negotiations carried out by the designated officials/authorities of the state of Pakistain. The form and the terms of such arrangements are not dictated by any law in force in Pakistain but are a result of the best outcome that the state can achieve in the arena of international finance, the petition had argued.

It contended that the prescribed time frame to transform the banking system was not related to any particular law. Even otherwise, a mass-scale conversion of the banking system will require infrastructural investment and changes at a mega scale (at least five times more within the next five years as compared to the current level that has been achieved in more than 20 years).

Accordingly, transactions costs, documentation requirements and dearth of risk management solutions will put additional pressure on the conversion process. Abruptness in implementation will create uncertainty in the banking sector, which may bring instability to the whole economy".

The appeal had also pleaded before the apex court that the FSC’s judgement be modified so as to address the issues.

The SBP also placed "Strategic Plan for Islamic Banking Industry 2021-25" for perusal of the SC. "A gradual approach for the transformation of banking system into Sharia-compliant banking was adopted at the start of this millennium, wherein both the Islamic and conventional banks were allowed to operate simultaneously in the country," the SBP recalled.

According to the SBP, Islamic banks now account for 19.4 per cent of the country’s overall banking system in terms of assets, while in terms of deposits the share is 20pc (as of March 31, 2022). Currently, 22 Islamic Banking Institutions (IBIs) — five full-fledged Islamic banks and 17 conventional banks having standalone Islamic banking branches — with a network of 3,983 branches along with 1,418 Islamic banking counters at conventional branches are operational across the country.

Blasphemy law does not apply to dreams, LHC rules
[Dawn] The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ruled that a person cannot be prosecuted for what he sees in his dreams or for sharing with others his thoughts, visions or emotions he has during those times.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh issued the ruling quashing a first information report (FIR) registered under Section 295-A of the Pakistain Penal Code (PPC) by the Saddar Police Station of Mianwali against the petitioner.

The complainant, an ex-member of the Mianwali district council, had alleged in August 2021 that the petitioner held sacrilegious beliefs and he began propagating them to the general public. He alleged that the petitioner claimed that he could fly and see Allah and various companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!) in his dreams.

The complainant further alleged that the petitioner had made similar statements before a crowd where two prosecution witnesses were also present. He claimed that such propagation hurt the community’s religious feelings and was likely to incite violence.

A counsel for the petitioner argued that the first information report (FIR) was mala fide and politically motivated. He said it did not state what blasphemous notions the petitioner held and when he expressed them. The only specific allegation against the petitioner was that he told a group of people about his dreams and claimed to have seen God and certain holy personages "Such narration is not an offence under Section 295-A PPC," the counsel added.

Opposing the petition, the counsel for the complainant adopted arguments of the law officer who submitted that the petitioner’s thoughts and beliefs were blasphemous and sinful and the law prohibited their expression. He contended that the petitioner deliberately and maliciously concocted false stories, which offended other people’s religious feelings.

Before discussing the merits of the case, Justice Sheikh looked into the offence under Section 295-A of the PPC and observed that in an examination of the FIR, "we find that the offence under section 295-A PPC is not made out". He noted that there was no allegation that the petitioner did anything to offend any group of people or insult their religion or religious beliefs.

The judge also reviewed Section 298 of the PPC (uttering words etc with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings) and found that it does not apply to the facts and circumstances of the present case.

"There is no evidence to suggest that the petitioner intended to offend or harm the religious sensibilities of the complainant or any other person with his statements," the judge maintained.

Justice Sheikh noted that the petitioner was facing prosecution for claiming that he could fly and for having frequent dreams in which he saw God and some holy figures.

Before concluding his judgment, the judge noted that it frequently happened that those accused of blasphemy
...the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence to a deity, or sacred objects, or toward something considered sacred or inviolable. Some religions consider it to be a crime. In Pakistain you can commit blasphemy by looking cross-eyed at a Koran...
had a mental condition.

The judge also referred to an article, "Blasphemy laws and mental illness in Pakistain" by author Muzaffar Husain wherein he said the people suffering from diseases such as mania and schizophrenia might lack behavioural constraints and understanding or exhibited grandiose and strange delusional notions.

The judge says the law in Pakistain protects the people with mental illnesses or impairments as Section 464 CrPC. ordains that a person of "unsound mind" who is incapable of assisting in his own defence cannot be tried.

Allowing the petition against the FIR, Justice Sheikh also directed the LHC registrar to send a copy of his judgment to the Punjab

All the hadrons collided,
when Justice Mustapha decided
'A crime to see Allah it ain't!'
[gavel smash, whispers, islamic fuss]
'But...,' He chided,
'Only whilst dreaming,
and never publicly screaming,
that you have seen Mohammed's taint!'

UP: Muslim woman agrees to Nikah Halal, instead gets gangraped by ex-husband, his brother
[OneIndia] The Uttar Pradesh police on Friday filed an FIR against five persons of a Moslem family and an Islamic holy man on charges of gang raping a woman several times after she had been given triple talaq.

The incident reportedly took place in Shahjahanpur. The holy man Guddu, Salam, Islan and three others have been booked in the case. According to the police in the complaint filed by the woman she said that she had married Salman five years back. Salman had divorced her a few months back under the triple talaq system which is currently outlawed.

Her complaint said that Salman on the advice of the holy man had said that he would marry her again if she married and divorced his younger brother. This process in Islam is called Nikah Halal. Even after she did as was told, the younger brother did not divorce her. Instead both the brothers took to raping her, the police also said.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said, on the assurance of Salman the woman married his brother Islam. However the latter refused to divorce her. Since then the woman has alleged both Salman and Islam gang-raped her on several occasions.

The woman then went to the local court with her complaint and then the FIR was lodged after the court ordered the police to do so. Based on the complaint the police booked Haji, Salman, Islam and three of their family members under sections of Gangrape (378), unnatural sex (377D IPC) and other sections under the Moslem Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act 2019.

The woman was then taken for a medical examination and presented before a magistrate where she recorded her statement. Efforts are being made to trace the absconding accused Kumar said.

TRIPLE TALAQ:
In 2017, the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
had struck down triple talaq which allowed a Moslem man to divorce his wife by making saying talaq thrice. Prior to this decision India was one of very few countries that allowed the practice.

The push in the Supreme Court was backed by Narendra Modi led central government. Several Moslem women and activist muppets had moved the Supreme Court challenging this practice.

Situation on LAC stable but unpredictable: Army chief Pande
Or perhaps predictably unstable. See also here.
[OneIndia] The situation in eastern Ladakh is "stable but unpredictable", Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande said on Saturday amid the over 30-month standoff between the Indian and Chinese troops in the high-altitude region.

In an address at a think-tank, Gen Pande said the focus of the next round of military talks would be to resolve issues at the two remaining friction points, seen as a reference to Demchok and Depsang in that region.

The Army chief also said that there has been no reduction in the strength of the Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the region though there are indications of the return of some of the PLA brigades with the onset of winter as they came for collective training.

Unmanned, solar-powered US space plane back after 908 days
[10 News] An unmanned U.S. military space plane landed early Saturday after spending a record 908 days in orbit for its sixth mission and conducting science experiments.

The solar-powered vehicle, which looks like a miniature space shuttle, landed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Its previous mission lasted 780 days.

"Since the X-37B’s first launch in 2010, it has shattered records and provided our nation with an unrivaled capability to rapidly test and integrate new space technologies," said Jim Chilton, a senior vice president for Boeing, its developer.

For the first time, the space plane hosted a service module that carried experiments for the Naval Research Laboratory, U.S. Air Force Academy and others. The module separated from the vehicle before de-orbiting to ensure a safe landing.

Among the experiments was a satellite dubbed the FalconSat-8 that was designed and built by academy cadets in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory. It was deployed in October 2021 and still remains in orbit.

Another experiment evaluated the effects of long-duration space exposure on seeds.

The X-37Be has now flown over 1.3 billion miles and spent a total of 3,774 days in space.

#1  The future of milsats will be far fewer large easy targets, and more deploy-on-demand platforms.

Then a treaty to knock those without that capability out of the game. LEO to Geostationary space must be cleaned up.
