Afghanistan
Salang Tragedy: Taliban Refuse to Deliver War Victims’ Bodies to Families, Freedom Front Reports
[8am] According to the Freedom Front of Afghanistan, the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
have not yet handed over the bodies of their forces to their families, five days after the end of the conflict in the Salang district of Parwan province.

On Saturday night, 15 April, the Freedom Front announced in a newsletter that the Taliban have only delivered the body of Fahim Salangi, one of the victims of the conflict, to his family but have not allowed his funeral to be held.

According to the newsletter, the efforts of the Red Thingy Committee to deliver the bodies of other members of this front to their families have also been unsuccessful.

In addition, the Freedom Front has claimed that the Taliban have harassed and persecuted the families of the victims of their forces in the past few days.

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
this front has called for the serious attention of the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
and other international human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
organizations to this matter.

It is worth mentioning that in the military clash between the forces of the Freedom Front and the Taliban in the Salang district of Parwan province on Tuesday night, 10 April, 6 members of this front were killed.

Afghanistan Freedom Front Confirms Death of its Senior Commander
[KhaamaPress] Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) confirmed the death of its senior Commander, Akmal Ameer, on Sunday.

Akmal Ameer, a former commander of the Afghan Special Forces
...established in 2007 with the intent of taking one conventional infantry kandak (battalion) from each of the regional ANA corps, giving them special training and equipment, and reorganizing based on the U.S. Army Rangers. Each battalion is assigned to one of the six regional corps. The commandos comprise 7% of the Afghan National Security Forces but conduct 70% to 80% of the fighting...
, and his seven companions were killed during a clash with the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in southern Salang, Parwan province.

According to the Defense Ministry, on April 10, Akmal Ameer and his seven companions were killed during an operation, but the Front did not confirm the report then.

The statement also added that numerous weapons and ammunition were seized during the raid, including a rocket rifle, two RPGs, four Ak-47 and night camera vision.

Ameer was a leading Afghanistan national defence force member during the former republic administration. After the fall of Kabul in August 2021, he went to Panjshir and joined the resistance front, but when the Taliban entered Panjshir the same month, he went to Iran.

Sources within the Freedom Front said that Ameer returned from Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. two months ago and was heading up the military affairs for the Front.

According to the statement released by the Front, the Taliban has taken the bodies of Ameer and his comrades to the Parwan Hospital. The statement added that the bodies were disrespected "by the Taliban."

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Cynthia backed into the galley, the barbecue fork held in front of her.
Jack! she called. Where the hell are you?...

the Taliban released several photos on Sunday, April 16, showing Ameer was shot in the mouth.

Kazakhstan to Reopen Afghan Embassy, Consulate: Mullah Baradar
[TOLONEWS] The first deputy of the prime minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, said that Serik Zhumangarin, Kazakhstan's deputy prime minister and Minister of Trade and Integration, pledged to reopen the embassy and consulate of the current Afghan government in Kazakhstan.

Baradar said that the Islamic Emirate is working on improving interactions with the world.

"They indicated this ... yesterday, that we will reopen our embassy or consulate in Afghanistan and assured us that we can also reopen our embassy and consulate there," Baradar noted.

A delegation of Kazakhstan, led by the deputy prime minister and minister of trade and integration, visited Kabul on Saturday and had meetings with a number of bigwigs of the Islamic Emirate, including Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

In order to improve relations, the Islamic Emirate asked this high-ranking Kazakh official to receive the diplomats of the current Afghan government.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wrecked scow, Agent 49 felt gingerly for his head. It was still there. He had been hoping differently...
some analysts said that accepting Islamic Emirate diplomats without also recognizing the current government is a one-way relationship.

"Sending and accepting diplomats without official recognition ... is a one-way relationship and has one-sided benefits," said Noorullah Raghi, former diplomat.

"If in general the international community, US, European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
, Russia, China does not give tecognition, I don’t think other countries will recognize the Islamic Emirate," said Noorullah Raghi, a former diplomat.

Although the Islamic Emirate has diplomatic missions in Tehran, Istanbul, Islamabad, Dubai, Moscow, Beijing, and a number of Arab and African nations, no nation has recognized the Islamic Emirate.

Africa Horn
'Cameleer' takes over Sudan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Western press' characterization. May as well have called him a camel jockey.

[REGNUM] A former Sudanese warlord nicknamed Hamedti commands a force comparable in size to the country's army. Having made his fortune in the illegal export of gold, he remained only a "toxic" leader of a remote region. And now, having led another military coup, he promises to put an end to the current leadership of the country in the coming days.

On Saturday, April 15, in the middle of Ramadan, the Sudanese woke up to the sound of heavy guns and incessant gunfire in Khartoum. The event is incredible for one of the most religious countries in Africa and at the same time expected.

Contradictions between military leaders have been building up for a long time and appear to have been provoked by outside forces. At the moment, active clashes are taking place between two groups of the military: the Rapid Reaction Force (RRF) and the Sudanese army itself.

The information comes in contradictory, and it is too early to judge which of the parties will be the winner. The clashes have already drawn condemnation from officials in Africa, Europe and the US, as well as at the United Nations.

HISTORY OF THE CONFLICT
Military coups in Africa are common. In Sudan, this is the third coup in two years and the sixth since independence in 1956 (and there were 12 coup attempts and 17 thwarted plots).

The former world-famous ruler of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, relied on the army and religious radicals represented by theologians and his own party.

In April 2019, after prolonged mass protests in the country, the Sudanese army actually betrays al-Bashir, takes control of the presidential palace, and puts him under arrest. Formal power in the country passes for the first time to a truly secular and civil leader, Abdallah Hamdok.

However, civil leaders in the person of the transitional government do not receive full power, and the constitutional order in the country does not come.

In October 2021, after another coup, the military is already seriously taking power into their own hands. General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, previously little known to external observers, becomes Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan.

During the coup, the general, which is important, was supported by the commander of the RRF, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo, nicknamed Hamedti , who actually became the second person in the state and took the post of vice president of the Sovereign Council of Sudan.

A significant moment was the fact that the new authorities, as it seemed at that moment, managed to put an end to the eternal strife between civilians and the military (in favor of the latter) and, most importantly, managed to retain power under strong external pressure.

The US, the European Union, the Arab League and the African Union (AU) condemned the coup in the early days. The prospect of Sudan's debt reduction, the agreement with the IMF and the World Bank, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars of humanitarian aid, were at stake.

Only Russia spoke out at the UN against calling the events in Sudan a coup. And the resolution of the UN Security Council in the end really turned out to be softer. Russia's position was also supported by China, which has a wide range of projects in Sudan.

"We are convinced that the Sudanese can and should independently solve internal problems and determine the vector of the sovereign development of their country based on national interests," Maria Zakharova voiced Russia’s official position at the time.

At the same time, it seems that the military, taking such drastic steps against civilian political leaders with international support, took a well-considered risk, counting primarily on the support of another significant player in the region - Egypt. One way or another, but by the beginning of 2023, the new authorities managed to reach many agreements with both the American side and international organizations.

STRUGGLE FOR LEADERSHIP IN THE REGION
Sudan, being a rich and extremely significant country in terms of logistics and overall control over the northeastern and eastern parts of Africa, has been and remains an area of intense competition between major international players. This is not a simple two-way or three-way competition, it is multi-dimensional.

An important point is also that for a long time, approximately since the disappearance of the bipolar world, the primary role in most African troubles has been played by regional powers. And in this case, we are talking about a fierce regional confrontation between Egypt and Ethiopia.

Behind the back of the displaced head of government, Abdullah Hamdok, were the interests not so much of the United States as of Ethiopia, and behind the head of the army, Abdel al-Burhan, were the interests of Egypt. And already in the second and third place, the interests of the Arab countries, China and anyone else.

In itself, rather painless for the country as a whole, the fact of Omar al-Bashir's removal from power became possible due to the coincidence of interests of the Trump administration and Israel (another player with significant interests in the region).

In fact, Sudan, under the strict leadership of the military, has become another Arab state that has agreed to normalize relations with Israel as part of a US-brokered deal.

In exchange for establishing relations with Tel Aviv, Sudan received the lifting of sanctions and the solution of debt problems. In 2021, the 1958 law to boycott Israel was also repealed. It banned diplomatic and economic relations with Israel, and violators could be punished with up to 10 years in prison and a fine.

A number of respected publications also shared insider reports about the secret visit of the Sudanese military to Israel. The delegation was headed by Abdul Rahim Hamdan Daglo, the brother of that same Hamedti.

Today in Sudan, it is the military who are in favor of establishing relations with Israel, guided by purely practical considerations - the benefits for the country, the army and, accordingly, new opportunities for maintaining their own power.

At the same time, the majority of civil leaders, oriented towards the masses of the population, sharply negatively assess the prospects for rapprochement with Israel. Because the common people, under the influence of traditions and religion, ardently support the Palestinians.

But back to the role of Egypt, which could be behind the October 2021 coup. One of the main contradictions between the military and civilian leader Hamdok was the position on Addis Ababa.

The military was in favor of tougher conditions regarding the construction of the Great Renaissance Dam and was essentially allied with Egypt in the conflict over control of the Nile waters. In addition, Ethiopia and Sudan have unresolved territorial disputes.

The current leader of the country, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who received military education, including in Egypt, according to the Wall Street Journal, met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi the day before the coup, who, as they say, could inspire him to coup.

THE FASTEST ACTION
Burhan, with the political and financial support of Egypt, insisted on the full integration of the RRF into the army structures. Hamedti, on the other hand, believes that, having lost control over the RRF, he will lose his political positions.

The catalyst for the escalation was the appearance of the Egyptian Air Force at the base in Meroe and rumors about Burkhan's intention to transfer the airport to Egypt for permanent use.

In the very first hours of the clash, the RRF took possession of the airport and captured the Egyptian special forces. According to social media reports, dozens of Egyptian MiG-29 aircraft are located at the same base, which were probably intended to be used as a deterrent against Ethiopia. Egyptian officers and soldiers were also detained in Marawi, north of the country's capital Khartoum.

Meroe Airport itself is one of the RRF's key staging points for the transport of weapons and gold, and is an important part of the RRF's economic base. It seems that this fact forced the RRF to act as quickly as possible.

Speaking in the middle of last day on the Arabic television channel Al Jazeera, the head of the RRF, Muhammad Hamdan Daglo "Hamedti", said that his forces took control of several airports, as well as the presidential palace. He accused Burhan of acting in the interests of Islamist dictator Omar al-Bashir.

"We will catch Burkhan and bring him to justice ,” he said, adding that “ we will end this in the coming day." Also, the RRF calls on the population to " join them "and reassures the soldiers that they "are not targeting them, but their headquarters."

CLAN GOLD
And now let's figure out what the RRF is (incorrectly called by some media "special forces" or "militia") and who their leader Hamedti is - "a former camel driver who dreams of becoming president," as the Western press writes about him.

The Rapid Reaction Force is a paramilitary force with more than 100,000 and is comparable to the size of the army. The RRF has its origins in the Janjaweed militia, who became infamous in the racially motivated armed clashes in the Darfur region in the 2000s.

In fact, being a field commander, Hamedti really grew up among camels and does not have a higher education. Having started its journey with a bloody civil strife in Darfur, it was toxic even for the former authorities in the person of Omar al-Bashir.

However, being the leader of a remote and significant region for Khartoum, he remained indispensable for the central authorities. Hamedti was able to monetize his growing influence by gaining access to gold mines.

Gold became the basis of the material well-being of the clan. One of the Hamedti brothers, El Goni Daglo , the only one with a higher education, manages the business from Dubai. According to some estimates, the business of the Daglo clan accounts for up to 40% of the country's gold exports, mostly illegal. Gold has also become a source of good connections and political patronage in the Arab countries.

Despite such an ambiguous "background", Hamedti managed to avoid international sanctions and getting into the lists of the ICC as the closest associate of Omar al-Bashir. At the same time, he remains young - a 40-year-old businessman and politician, a prominent representative of the regional elite.

The latter aspect probably plays a larger role than the foreign powers behind both military leaders. Darfur has until recently remained marginalized and despised by the Khartoum elite, and the RRF will certainly go all the way to bring their leader to power.

There is no doubt about the military experience of the SBR. They especially intensified after participating in hostilities against the Houthis of Yemen on the side of Saudi Arabia. At the peak of their involvement, the RRF deployed up to 40,000 fighters.

Sudan withdrew the bulk of its forces from Yemen by the end of 2019, but they returned with additional combat experience, military equipment and equipment.

WHY SUDAN IS IMPORTANT FOR RUSSIa
The successful work of Russian structures (PMC Wagner) in the region began precisely with interaction with this field commander, including in terms of joint gold mining. Subsequent coups significantly weakened Russia's influence in the region. This manifested itself, in particular, in the endless negotiations on the creation of a base for the navy (by the way, what about it?). Today we have a chance to “take revenge” to a certain extent and regain our former influence.

Sudan is of interest to Russia as a logistical "entry point" for the landlocked Central African Republic. This is the only way from the sea that is available to us and that our private military structures have repeatedly used. Including during the hot phase of civil confrontation in the CAR itself.

Also, through the base in this territory, it is possible to ensure the safety of maritime transport and control the huge trade flows through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.

Mining, energy, agriculture, military cooperation - all these areas remain a priority for mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Mother repeatedly urged Amirkhan Gurazhev to surrender to the authorities
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The mother of Amirkhan Gurazhev, who was put on the wanted list in the case of an attack on security forces, re-recorded a video message in which she asked her son to surrender to the authorities. This video was distributed after the report of the head of Ingushetia on the four militants killed in the counterterrorist operation.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the shelling of a traffic police post on the border of Ingushetia and North Ossetia on the night of March 28, six residents of Ingushetia were put on the wanted list. Later, two of them, Ramazan Eldiev and Movsar Kottoev, were found dead.

A counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced, but the wanted men managed to evade the security forces twice after skirmishes - on April 3 in Malgobek and on April 5 in Zyazikov-Yurt, while the security forces suffered losses both times.

On April 7, one of the wanted men, Amir Bokov, surrendered to the police, and the next day it became known that Mikail Moshkhoev had been detained. Amirkhan Gurazhev and Adam Ozdoev remained on the wanted list, but on April 15, the head of Ingushetia reported that four alleged militants were killed and two were detained during the CTO, without naming them.

On April 10, Amirkhan Gurazhev's mother urged her son to report her whereabouts and return home, follows from a video message published on Telegram. Previously, relatives Relatives of Amirkhan Gurazhev stated that they were not involved in his actions and did not support him if he was involved in something illegal.

Today, Ingush Telegram channels have distributed a new video message from the mother of Amirkhan Gurazhev. The woman turned to her son with a request to surrender and not do evil. "Otherwise you won't have my maternal forgiveness," the ingterpol_news Telegram channel quotes the translation of her words. The same appeal was published today in the News-Ingushetii Telegram channel.

Earlier, Amir Bokov surrendered to the police, whose relatives cooperated with the authorities and law enforcement agencies in his search and urged him to stop ties with the underground and surrender. On April 15,  a video of his remorse was made public , where he explained why he decided to turn himself in to the police.

The losses of the security forces during the battle in Zyazikov-Yurt, including three killed and eight wounded, became the largest  number of casualties in a day among the security forces in Ingushetia after August 2012, follows from  the chronicle  of armed incidents in Ingushetia, which has been kept by the "Caucasian Knot" since 2006.

Details of a series of incidents in March-April 2023 in Ingushetia are collected in the "Caucasian Knot" report " Activation of the armed underground in Ingushetia in the spring of 2023.

Fifth Column
Scott Bennett: USA Desperate to Trigger War with Iran, Russia, and China Simultaneously
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Former US army officer, Scott Bennett,
...reportedly from the 11th Psychological Operations Battalion, and a favourite of certain members of the foreign press...
indicated that the Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
must be given a peace Nobel prize because Russia has tolerated the US antagonism of supporting Ukraine in this risky war.

In an interview with Anomicage Website, Bennett stressed that the West has waged an insane proxy war against Russia, adding that the Russian military power will certainly defeat eventually the the Ukrainian and European governments.

Bennett noted that the European people are expected to overthrow and humiliate their governments over supporting Ukraine, adding that the proxy war will starve the Europeans .

The ex-officer affirmed that the US officials and powers are concerned with "triggering wars with Iran, Russia, and China simultaneously" in order to gain the support of all the Americans to their faulty decisions.

Bennett indicated that the United States resorts to lies in order to justify its wars against its enemies, warning against repeating the Iraqi fault in the case of Iran.

In this regard, Bennett narrated some of his basic findings in the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
during his 2018 visit, displaying how the Iranian people are educated pious and calm.

Bennett stressed that the US and Mossad are behind circulating the propaganda that Iran oppresses women, adding that he witnessed several women occupying his posts in the Islamic Theocratic Republic.

He also explained that the people in Iran love their Leader, denying all rumors about dictatorial practices practiced by the authorities there.

Bennett also indicated that the Iranians love the American people and refer their troubles with the US administration to God, noting that God has been punishing America in various forms.

Bennett highlighted the educational, cultural, social, and moral perversions witnessed in the United States, stressing that the American soldier is much weaker than his Iranian, Russian, and Chinese peers despite the sophisticated weapons he has.

The Grand Turk
Over 10,000 Migrants Deported: Turkish Govt
[ToloNews] The Ottoman Turkish interior ministry in a statement said that in the first three months of 2023, more than ten thousand migrants colonists including Afghans were deported from the country.

According to Ottoman Turkish authorities, 3,277 Afghan refugees were deported to Afghanistan since the beginning of the year.

The statement said that the individuals had come to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
illegally.

The statement said that nearly 1,000 Afghan refugees have been deported within last four days.

"Those who earlier worked in the former government, or they are journalists or worked as civil employees, their cases are being processed by the Ottoman Turkish refugees agency," said Ezatullah Sadaat, head of the Afghanistan association in Turkey.

"The deportation of Afghan refugees has increased on a daily basis. Hundreds of Afghan refugees are being deported from this country," said Mazullsh Sultan Oghlo, a journalist in Turkey.

The Islamic Emirate meanwhile criticized the countries that host Afghans and deport them with improper manners.

"There should be cooperation in their deportation, it should be in a way that they don't face suffering. Still if they (refugees) want to come back to the country, the Islamic

Emirate considers it better that they come back to their country" said Zabiullah Mujahid, Islamic Emirate’s front man.

"There is a need for the involved parties to work on proper plans and to take effective steps to improve the condition of refugees," said Asifa Stanikzai, a refugees rights screeching muppet.

Lack of employment and deteriorated economic conditions of the people are said to be the main reasons for the rise of illegal migration.

"In the current situation, no Afghan should be returned to the country," said Abdul Malik Afghan, an economist.

According to the Ottoman Turkish interior ministry, more than 30,500 refugees have been identified, of whom 18,000 have been processed for deportation.

Casualties from violence soar in year’s first quarter: report

According to the report, prepared by the Centre for Research and Security Studies, the number of deaths was 358 and that of injuries was 496, which resulted from as many as 219 terrorist attacks and counterterrorism operations during the January-March period.

Most deaths — 245 (or 68 per cent) — were reported from KP, followed by Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...

and Islamabad.

The report said that 2023 started with the most fatal January for security forces in a decade, following a similar trend from the previous year, which ended with the decade’s deadliest Dec for them.

With a corpse count of 111, January recorded the second-highest number of fatalities of security personnel in a single month, second only to July 2014 with 118 fatalities.

However,

"Most concerningly, the fatalities of security and government officials almost doubled, from 88 in the first quarter of last year to 167 in the first quarter this year," the report said.

The terrorist attacks against security personnel, government officials, and civilians accounted for most incidents of violence and counter-violence that took place in the first quarter. The outlawed TTP carried out at least 22 attacks causing 107 fatalities.

[GEO.TV] Former US envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad on Saturday slammed former president and Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Ten Percent Zardari
...former president of Pakistain, husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, who has been singularly lacking in curiosity about who done her in...
, calling him "Pakistain’s Mr 10 Percent".

The former US envoy said that the PPP co-chairman should "put the country first and honour the legacy of BB [Benazir Bhutto
... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in...
In an interview with senior journalist Hamid Mir on the Geo News programme "Capital Talk" on Friday, the former president had said Khalilzad is a "double agent" who was on "a payroll".

During the interview, Zardari was questioned regarding the support Khalilzad had shown to the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) — the former ruling party led by Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who who convinced himself that playing cricket qualified him to lead a nuclear-armed nation with severe personality disorders...
In response, the former president said that Khalilzad was a salaried person. "He is in a lobby and an agent. A double agent of CIA [Central Intelligence Agency]."

When asked about the negative things Khalilzad had written about Zardari in his book, he said: "Of course, why would he write anything good about me? They can’t tolerate anyone who has roots in the country, can save the country, or loves it. Obviously, he won’t write anything nice."

In response to this, the former US envoy took to Twitter and wrote: "Responding to Pakistain's "Mr. 10 Percent": I do not lobby for anyone or any country and am no one's agent. I have shared my sincere concern about Pakistain's triple crisis, which unfortunately is intensifying, and have suggested what should be done. "Mr. Ten Percent" should put country first and honor BB's legacy, to preclude a meltdown that will hurt the 220 million people who — unlike him and others like him, do not own posh homes in several countries that they can run away to. The Pak establishment and the country's politicians must commit to rule of law, starting by not splitting the Supreme Court, but instead, implementing its decisions."

Son of last Iranian shah to visit Israel in bid to renew ‘ancient bond’
[IsraelTimes] Reza Pahlavi says he’ll take part in Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations and learn about Israeli water tech during trip, expresses hope for future ’Cyrus Accords’.

Israel and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
maintained close ties — particularly on energy and security — during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was tossed in a popular 1979 uprising led by Islamist holy mans.

The two countries have since become bitter enemies, with Iranian leaders regularly calling for the Jewish state’s destruction and backing gangs committed to this goal.

Pahlavi’s itinerary includes talks with government officials and a stop at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. He will also visit a desalination plant and meet experts in water and agriculture, as well as with members of the Baha’i community in Haifa. During the trip, he said he plans to deliver a speech "outlining his vision for an Iranian democracy," according to the statement.

"The Iranian and Jewish people have ancient bonds dating back to Cyrus the Great and Queen Esther," Pahlavi was quoted as saying, referring respectively to the Persian king who allowed the Jews to return to Zion from exile in the 6th century BCE and the Jewish heroine of the Purim story.

"As the children of Cyrus, the Iranian people aspire to have a government that honors his legacy of upholding human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
and respecting religious and cultural diversity

, including through the restoration of peaceful and friendly relations with Israel and Iran’s other neighbors in the region."

"A democratic Iran will seek to reestablish ties with Israel and our Arab neighbors — perhaps as part of a future Cyrus Accords," Pahlavi said, in a play on the US-backed Abraham Accords that saw Israel normalize diplomatic relations with several Arab states.

While Pahlavi is in Israel, Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel will serve as his host.

Pahlavi left Iran at age 17 for military flight school in the US, just before his cancer-stricken father Mohammad Reza Pahlavi abandoned the throne for exile.

Pahlavi, who still resides in the US, has called for a peaceful revolution that would replace holy manal rule with a parliamentary monarchy, enshrine human rights and modernize its state-run economy.

Whether he can galvanize support for a return to power is unknown. His father ruled lavishly and repressively and benefitted from a CIA-supported coup in 1953.
