[EpochTimes] Arizona and Montana are taking legal action (pdf) to block new Biden administration immigration regulations, saying that these would cause negative consequences for the states.
The new rules would limit the capability of ICE to detain some illegal immigrants colonists unless they pose a threat to national security, entered through the border after Nov. 1, or committed aggravated felonies.
The Biden administration says that the rules don’t impair arresting or deporting people, but the officers in the field would need to request permission from their superiors to arrest people outside of the aforementioned cases.
"If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender," Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement. "Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law. This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants colonists and the people of Arizona."
Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen joined Brnovich in the lawsuit. Both filed for a preliminary injunction aiming to block the regulations from going into effect.
"Meth trafficked into Montana by Mexican narco mobs has wracked our state. The problem will only be made worse if the Biden administration continues to allow criminals to stay in the country," Knudsen stated. "Enforcing our immigration laws and helping to keep Americans safe is one of the federal government’s most important functions. The Biden administration is failing its basic responsibility to Americans."
Last month, Chief Deputy Matthew Thomas told Townhall that the crisis at the border had begun to re-emerge at around the end of 2020 because the human and drug trafficking cartels expected President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...Candidate for president in 2020. Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. He didn't graduate with three or even two degrees, wasn't in the top half of his law class, and his daddy didn't come home from a hard day's work in the mines and play football with the guys. "When [Trump] took office, we saw that this area out here went completely dead. Nobody was moving, nobody was smuggling because [the cartels] knew that Trump was going to put all hands on deck out down here and that they would be intercepted so it came to a screeching halt," Thomas said.
Thomas said that since Biden has ordered to halt the construction of the southern border wall, it has created more trouble for Pinal County since it doesn’t have physical barriers, promoting the criminals to funnel through, reaching the highway and then transporting drugs or bodies throughout the country.
He added that once the people or drugs are smuggled in, they can go anywhere inside the United States, sometimes as far as Canada.
"For us, effectively, I-8 ... becomes the new border and even the cartels will tell you that’s their goal line because once they get there, they’re shooting west or they’re shooting east and then they’re on a main interstate right into downtown Phoenix ... we become the kickoff point for that," the Sheriff said.
"These people and these drugs are not coming here to Pinal County to stay. This is a transport location. This is a spot they get through to get to their final destination and they’re being sent all over the country."
[EpochTimes] On Tuesday, Ashley Moody, the Attorney General of Florida said that she is taking legal action against the Biden administration because of their "egregious" immigration regulations, which she says go against federal law.
"I’ve been speaking for weeks now and alerting Americans to the fact that this administration is thumbing its nose to its responsibilities under federal law. It is required to deport criminal aliens that are here illegally and it is just saying we’re not going to do it anymore," she told Fox News.
Moody went on to say that the Biden administration canceled a national operation that aimed at bringing to justice illegal aliens that committed sex crimes.
"First, they canceled Operation Talon, which targeted sex offenders here in the United States illegally and now they’ve released guidance, which is basically releasing into our streets serious criminal offenders."
Last week, former acting director of ICE Thomas Homan wrote in an Epoch Times commentary article that he is "in possession of another email that canceled a planned sexual predator operation last month."

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Jabro reiterated her ministry's intention to close all Internal Displaced Person (IDPs) camps and accused “some parties” of using the camps for political and personal benefits.
There are 37,000 displaced Iraqi families still in the Kurdistan Region, according to Jabro, speaking to reporters during a visit to Arbat camp in Sulaimani. Returning these families back to their homes in Iraqi provinces will need cooperation between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), she said.
Last year, the Iraqi government began a push to close about 17 IDP camps around the country, three years after the defeat of the Islamic State group (ISIS).
"The most important obstacles to the return of the displaced to their areas, especially in Salahaddin governorate, are due to clan disputes,” Jabro said. Destruction of homes, businesses, and public infrastructure in the war against ISIS is also an impediment to people returning home, she added.

[AlMasdar] The Syrian military recently increased its strength in the al-Hasakah Governorate after adding more than 2,000 recruits to the ranks of their internal security forces.
According to a Sputnik Arabic correspondent in the al-Hasakah Governorate, a new batch of recruits graduated from a six-month-long training program to join the ranks of the internal security forces in the administrative capital.
The recruits were members of the local Arab tribes of the al-Hasakah Governorate, which have pledged their allegiance to the state.
Sputnik Arabic released a video of the graduation ceremony on Tuesday, March 10th, which showed dozens of recruits in the Meridian District of the administrative capital.
The Sputnik Arabic report added that the Syrian Armed Forces have since added more than 2,000 recruits during their recent recruitment campaign in the Al-Jazira region.
