Afghanistan
Truck bombing in Kabul will not go unanswered: Afghan intelligence
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan Intelligence -- National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS) promised that the deadly truck bombing in capital Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
will not go unanswered.
Does that mean we can expect a pretty big kaboom in Islamabad soon? Please?
NDS front man Hasib Sediqi said the enemies of Afghanistan are looking to divert attention from the recent losses and defeats they suffered from the Afghan national security forces in the battle ground.

Sediqi further added that the attack in a market carried out in the early minutes of Friday morning shows the extreme savagery and un-Islamic movements of the terrorist groups.

Preliminary estimates disclosed by the government officials indicated at least 8 people were killed and nearly 400 others were maimed.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
the officials said Friday at least 15 people bit the dust and around 240 others including 47 women and 33 children were maimed.

Taliban receive orders from foreigners: Abdul Rab Rasoul Sayyaf, leader of Dawat-e-Islami
[NATION.PK] Abdul Rab Rasoul Sayyaf, leader of Dawat-e-Islami Afghanistan party and former Jihadi leader criticized the Taliban today and said their leadership and management system was "non-Sharia" (un-Islamic) and said that the bad boy group was a puppet to foreign powers by pointing out that they received orders from 'foreigners'. He did however call on them to end the war.

Speaking to journalists at his home, Sayyaf said ,"Mullah [Omar] was killed two years ago in Pakistain. He was brutally killed. No one could hide a natural death for two years. "This carried on for two years because no one was prepared to confirm his news.

The outspoken former Jihadi leader went on to even reveal that the Taliban had been established initially as a movement to suppress the Mujahideen in the mid-1990s and to destabilize Afghanistan.

On the issue of Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
's replacement, Mullah Akhtar Mansour Sayyaf said, "Those religious scholars who participated in the ceremony were not given the right to choose, if the religious scholars had been given the right to choose, they might have chosen the most educated and the most knowledgeable [person], rather than the most ignorant and mute one."

On his recent meetings with former president Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
he said that they had discussed matters of national interest but that neither of them are in favor of the collapse of the National Unity Government.

"Karzai was never for the collapse of the system. We never wanted government to collapse, but yes we are concerned about the government and the government should strengthen itself," Sayyaf said.

Yemen says Taez will be freed in 'next two days'
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Yemen's Interior Minister, Maj. Gen. Abdou Mohammed al-Hudhaifi has said on Friday that there is progress on three fronts in Taez by the Yemeni army and Popular Resistance Forces and that the area would likely be freed from Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
"in the next two days."

Hudhaifi said in a statement to Al Arabiya News' sister channel Al Hadath that more than 75 per cent of the people of Taez recognize the legitimacy of the government and reject the presence of Houthi militias and the foces of ousted Former Yemeni President President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...
.

He also added that there some areas which were the exception but that they did not pose an overall threat to the progress made by the army and the resistance forces.

Hudhaifi told Al Hadath that there are currently three fronts where battles are currently being front -- in the north, west and south -- where relative peace prevails in the eastern parts. He also added that the Houthi and Saleh militias are attempting to focus their efforts on the east but that the rebel group is slowly heading to a state of confusion and collapse.

Hudhaifa predicts that Taez will be completely freed from militias "during the next two days."

rebel leaders, the official Anatolia news agency reported on Friday.

The move by Ankara followed UN Security Council sanctions on the same five men for threatening peace in the impoverished, conflict-torn country.

The decision, which was published in the Official Gazette having been endorsed by the cabinet, blacklists Saleh, his son Ahmad Ali Abdullah Saleh, and Houthi leaders Abdulmalik al-Houthi, Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim and Abd al-Khaliq al-Houthi, the agency said.

The sanctions freeze any assets, bank accounts and safe deposit boxes the five might have in Turkey and will be in place until February 26, 2016, Anatolia said.

Bahrain suspends opposition newspaper
[Al Ahram] Bahraini authorities have suspended the country's main opposition newspaper, accusing it of threatening national unity and relations with other states, the official news agency BNA reported late on Thursday.

"The Information Affairs Authority has temporarily suspended Al Wasat newspaper until further notice," BNA reported.

"This is due to its violation of the law and repeated dissemination of information that affects national unity and the kingdom's relationship with other countries," it said, without elaborating.

Al Wasat, Bahrain's only independent daily, was briefly closed in 2011, and its senior staff removed and prosecuted, in the aftermath of anti-government protests in the Gulf island kingdom.

The paper is headed by Mansoor al-Jamri, who was one of three senior editors tried on charges of fabricating news when the paper was reporting the protests, led by the Shi'ite Moslem majority against the Sunni ruling family's government.

Jamri was brought back as editor-in-chief later in 2011.

Bahrain, which hosts the US Fifth Fleet, has experienced sporadic turmoil since demonstrators erupted into the streets that year demanding reforms and a bigger role in government. That revolt was put down with military help from Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

#2  When the Beatles produced "Nowhere Man" I think they were commenting on the growing trend at the time of Brits, the illuminated ones, were trying to make nice to everyone and the seeds of the current social train wreck of political correctness.

All of this outrageous political correctness from this stupidity to the suppression of news about the child abuse and molestation by Muslims is the natural reducto ad absurdum from the sixties in the UK

Turkey cool toward Russia's regional anti-ISIL alliance
[Hurriyet Daily News] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgic said any other plan regarding ISIL other than the ongoing international coalition effort is not on Turkey's agenda.

Asked about the Russian proposal and the recent meeting between Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, Bilgic said Syrian issues were one of the topics with the Russian FM.

"The international community already conducts a battle against Daesh [ISIL]. Turkey is part of an international coalition and provides concrete support to these efforts. Apart from that, we don't have any other methods or plan in our agenda concerning the struggle against Daesh," Bilgic said, speaking at a presser on Aug.7.

Demirtas points to Ankara for Kurdish peace process solution
[Hurriyet Daily News] After meetings with the leaders of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party's (PKK) European branch in the Belgian capital, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtas has said the address to solve the Kurdish grinding of the peace processor was the Turkish capital rather than Brussels.

Speaking during a live televised program on Med Nuce TV in Brussels, Demirtas said if the address to reach a ceasefire was Brussels, then it would have been much easier to reach a solution, but the real address was Ankara, where the HDP and PKK await the government to take action.

"The address where the ceasefire will be reached is not here [Brussels]. I wish it was so; it would have been very easy. I am confident that even if there was a one-in-a-million possibility for my visit to turn into peace then we could have reached it. The place of the government, which ended the process and toppled the government, is Ankara," Demirtas said Aug. 6.

Demirtas made an unscheduled visit to Brussels to meet with Zubeyir Aydar and Remzi Kartal, two leading PKK figures based in Europe. Aydar is a member of the executive council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), the alleged urban wing of the PKK, and Kartal is the co-leader of Kongra-Gel, an offshoot of the PKK.

Demirtas said it was the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government which did not respond positively to the Kurdish grinding of the peace processor, adding even though people were most certainly expecting a result from his meetings in Brussels, the work conducted in Ankara would be what puts pressure on the government to continue with the resolution process.

The US is working to pass off some Guantanamo Bay prisoners to other countries ahead of closing
[BusinessInsider]. The United States has secured commitments from a dozen countries to accept nearly half of the 52 Guantanamo prisoners already cleared for transfer, U.S. officials said on Friday, as the Obama administration tries to accelerate efforts to close the military prison.

But the moves will require the final signature of Defense Secretary Ash Carter, which could still delay the process, despite President Barack Obama's push to empty the prison before he leaves office in 2017.

Mullah Omar neither died in Pakistan nor was his burial held here: Khawaja Asif
[NATION.PK] Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif earlier today categorically stated that Taliban leader Mulla Omar has neither died in Pakistain nor has been buried here. Replying to a statement made by Syed Naveed Qamar; Khawaja Asif said Mulla Omar was not in either Quetta or Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
"No, no! Certainly not!"
"I want to reiterate that Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
neither died in Pakistain nor was his burial held here. The statements of his children and relatives are kept a viable record. The matter of his death now or earlier is a controversy that we do not want to be involved in," Asif told Parliamentarians.

The defence minister said that it would be a major success for Pakistain if talks between the Afghan government and Taliban negotiators ended on a positive note.

"Two rounds were held for the talks. One was held in China, the second in Pakistain. A third round was scheduled in Pakistain but after this news it has been postponed, not cancelled. The process is still ongoing," Khawaja Asif told politicians in the National Assembly. Asif said that Americans and Chinese were taking part in the negotiations as observers.

"We still wish that this process continues and that Pakistain's positive role becomes a part of history. Our efforts are directed so whoever succeeds in gaining leadership of this country; continues with this negotiations process so that long-lasting peace can be established in the region," he said.

Khawaja Asif added that the officials in Pakistain have no control over the Taliban situation but exercise some influence to convince them in reaching negotiations.

Iraq
U.S. transfers widow of top ISIS figure to Iraq
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The United States on Thursday handed over to Iraqi authorities the widow of a senior ISIS leader who were tossed into the calaboose by US forces since May, the Pentagon announced.

Nasrin As'ad Ibrahim, also known as Umm Sayyaf or "Mother of Sayyaf", was the wife of Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
or "Father of Sayyaf," who was killed in a U.S. special forces raid in Syria in May.

She is now being held by the interior ministry of Iraq's autonomous province of Kurdistan, the U.S. Defense Department said.

"The decision to transfer Umm Sayyaf to the Iraqi government was based on the U.S. government determination that the detainee's transfer would be appropriate with respect to legal, diplomatic, intelligence, security, and law enforcement considerations," it said in a statement.

Abu Sayyaf, who was alleged to be the faceless myrmidons group's top financier, was killed on May 15 in a rare U.S. commando raid on the town of Al-Omar inside war-torn Syria.

The Pentagon said that "about a dozen" ISIS fighters had been slain in a close quarters shootout during the raid.

At the time, U.S. officials said the plan had been to detain both Abu Sayyaf and his wife, but the Death Eater leader had resisted arrest and had been killed in an exchange of fire.

U.S. and Iraqi officials said a young Yezidi woman held as a slave by the couple had been freed after the raid, and that U.S. forces had found valuable looted Iraqi historical artifacts at their home.

The legal status of the captive Umm Sayyaf was unclear after the raid, but U.S. officials have alleged that she was a member of the ISIS group in her own right.

The United States has no relationship with Bashir al-Assad's Syrian government, but is an ally of the Kurdistan Regional Government and cooperates with Iraq in its fight against the ISIS organization.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel Reportedly Withdrawing From Joint Military Exercise With United States
Israel has refused far-reaching proposals from the United States for American-Israeli security cooperation as part of a major joint exercise to be held in Israel in early 2016, Israel's NRG reported on Friday. The report comes as tensions between the U.S. and Israel have escalated over the recent nuclear deal with Iran.

The joint strategic exercise, code named "Juniper Cobra 16," is scheduled for the beginning of 2016, and should include wide-ranging cooperation, such as the testing of a missile defense system that will be based on American capabilities.

The date of the joint exercise was set years ago, but problems have emerged in recent weeks. While it appears that the Americans are eager to go ahead with the cooperation for the exercises, in a move that may be the first of its kind, the political echelon in Jerusalem has decided against allowing the IDF to join the initiative.

"As a result, this has created a strange situation: the Americans are willing to grant Israel more than it is willing to accept," NRG commented.

It is also not Israel's first refusal of American assistance. During last month's visit by Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon declined to discuss a "compensation package" that the United States intended to propose to Israel following the Iran deal. "Now it appears that the [Israeli] 'annoyance' is continuing and even getting worse," said NRG.

"How will this end?" the publication asked. "It seems that the Defense establishment and the political leadership will wait at least until after the deal is approved in Congress before ending the cold attitude."

Photo of Palestinian men protecting Israeli policewoman goes viral
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A picture of two Paleostinian men shielding an Israeli policewoman from rocks being thrown by Israeli settlers has gone viral.

The photo - taken by Shaul Golan, a photographer for Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper - showed the three standing at Esh Kodesh, an outpost on the West Bank, considered by the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
to be part of the occupied territory.

In the image, the female police officer is seen without protective gear, looking frightened, while standing in between the two men who have their arms open, holding no weapons.

The two Paleostinian men stepped in to protect the frightened policewoman after festivities broke out between anti-occupation activists and what Isreali media have described as right-wing settlers. The incident -- which saw the two sides throwing rocks at each other - happened near the settlement of Aish Kodesh and the Paleostinian village of Kusra.

The striking picture was shared at least 2,305 times on the Facebook page of an Israeli journalist named Igal Sarna.

"Amid all the chaos, I saw this female officer," Golan told the Times of Israel. "She was really scared. She was abandoned in the field and her so-called enemies were guarding her. I knew right away it was a special moment."

One of the men sheltering the Israeli officer was Zakaria Sadah, a Paleostinian field worker for Rabbis for Human Rights (RHR), an Israeli human rights

organization that works in the area.

"When I saw her," Sadah said in a phone interview with the Times of Israel, "I didn't see her uniform or a symbol of the occupation. I saw a person who was crying, who was breaking down. And I had to stand by her side."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
IRAN: Just Made A Deal With China That Shows They're Ready for War
We can all thank Obama and John Kerry for this.

Iran is beginning to reap the fruits of its nuclear deal with the world powers.

According to a report in the Taiwanese press, China is set to provide the Islamic Republic with 24 J-10 fighter jets.
In exchange, Iran will permit China access to its largest oilfield for the next 20 years. The total estimated value of the deal is $1 billion.

The J-10, which is known by the moniker "Vigorous Dragon," is an advanced combat aircraft which foreign sources say is based on the original designs of the Lavi, the Israeli prototype whose manufacturing was canceled in the 1980s.

The Lavi was built and developed by Israel Aircraft Industries, though the government eventually decided to terminate the program due to the high costs of production and after the US offered to sell Israel F-16s as an alternative. After the cancellation, the Israeli government resolved to sell the plans to China.

The Champ regime's prohibition against the exporting of U.S. crude oil should assist this pro-Iranian effort. No sense getting in the way of our prime, bond buying lender now is there ?

U.N. seeks accountability on Syria gas attacks
The U.N. Security Council unanimously passed a U.S.-drafted resolution on Friday laying the groundwork for an inquiry that would assign blame for chemical weapons attacks in Syria's civil war.

The resolution asks U.N. chief the ephemeral Ban Ki-moon
... of whom it can be said to his credit that he is not Kofi Annan...
and the head of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to make recommendations within 20 days for the establishment of an investigative body, "to identify to the greatest extent feasible individuals, entities, groups, or governments" involved in any chemical attacks in Syria.

The adoption of the resolution came after the U.S. struck a deal with Russia, a strong backer of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

, on a formal request to the U.N. to assemble a team of Sherlocks to lay blame for toxic gas attacks in Syria.

Assad cousin in 'road rage' killing
[Al Ahram] A cousin of Syria's Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Leveler of Latakia...
has rubbed out a senior air force officer in a road rage incident in the Latakia coastal heartland of their minority Alawite community, a monitor said Friday.

Suleiman al-Assad, a first cousin once removed, killed Colonel Hassan al-Sheikh "because he overtook him at a crossroads" Thursday evening, said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Assad "followed him, swerved the car around, got out and shot him dead", said Abdel Rahman, whose group has contacts across war-torn Syria.

He said tensions were running high among Alawites in Latakia, with some calling for Suleiman al-Assad, who has not been nabbed

, to be punished.

The killer's father, Hilal al-Assad, a first cousin of the president, headed the defence forces in the Mediterranean city before his death in festivities with rebels in nearby Kasab in March 2014.
