Victor Davis Hanson: Harvard ‐ Out Of The Frying Pan, Into The Fire
[Daily Caller] Harvard may assume the forced resignation of its president, Claudine Gay, has finally ended its month-long scandal over her tenure.

Gay stepped down, remember, amid serious allegations of serial plagiarism — without refuting the charges. She proved either unable or unwilling to discipline those on her campus who were defiantly antisemitic in speech and action.

But Gay’s removal is not the end of Harvard’s dilemma. Rather, it is the beginning.

In the respective press releases from both Gay and the Harvard Corporation, racial animus was cited as a reason for her removal.

Gay did not even refer to her failure to stop antisemitism on her campus or her own record of blatant plagiarism.

Yet playing the race card reflects poorly on both and for a variety of reasons.

One, Gay’s meager publication record — a mere eleven articles without a single published book of her own — had somehow earned her a prior Harvard full professorship and presidency. Such a thin résumé leading to academic stardom is unprecedented.

Two, the University of Pennsylvania forced the resignation of its president, Liz Magill. She sat next to Gay during that now-infamous congressional hearing in which they both claimed they were unable to discipline blatant antisemitism on their campuses.

Just wondering out loud.
Where does Ms. GAY stand regarding BLoM, given they support HAMAS?

She sure was a Defund the Police - George Floyd supporter

#2  The impact would be knowable from graphs of alumni donations and student applications over the next year. Looking at similar graphs for Oberlin College over the last 5 years would give you an idea of whether this is a Disney and/or Bud Lite situation. I am not really sure as I don’t think either school has many conservative alumni or applicants. Regardless, they have a perception/brand issue that probably will impact schools as far away as Cornel or Dartmouth among the gen pop.

Britain
Pedo document release - Prince Andrew could be in big trouble this time
A few — just a few! — examples of royal fiddling with underage commoners years and years ago and the man’s life is ruined. This is as bad as the nonsense that drove his mother to force him to divorce that vivacious redheaded wife of his back when their daughters were young. Honestly, back in the day a royal prince had to actually marry a divorcée to get the cut direct — anything less was just aristos being aristos.
[MAIL] Andrew will never return to the royal fold after the release of documents detailing sexual assault allegations, insiders said last night.

Papers released by a New York court in the early hours of yesterday thrust the Duke of York's relationship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein back into the spotlight with claims that the prince committed 'acts of sexual abuse' and took part in an 'underage orgy'.

Andrew has vehemently and repeatedly denied all allegations against him. Yesterday well-placed sources told the Mail that while the court claims were not a surprise, they will have served to 'crystallise' King Charles's determination to solve the 'Andrew problem' decisively.

Plans were already in train to evict him from Royal Lodge, his ten-bedroom Windsor home since 2003, and move him to a smaller residence in keeping with his 'downgraded' status.

The newly released court documents are believed to have strengthened the King's resolve that Andrew will never be allowed to resume royal duties.

This sounds like a quote from a Mafia movie...

#6  Charles will abdicate within the next 5 years as they try to rebrand this mess. The idea will be to drop the focus to the next generation. Megan is cast in the inconvenient Kamala Harris role of the saga.
As for legal trouble, let’s be realistic. The FBI has all the videos for years and has done diddly squat. The scandal will continue to stink like Pepe LePew’s carcass after an encounter with a Goodyear radial, but Andrew is not going to jail. He won’t be getting many party invites though.

#7  The "unexplained Epstein income" remains...unexplained. My hunch is it was USG/UK gov't money. Some sort of bilateral source recruitment project (cough, cough Maxwell) that permitted selective sampling of the bait.

When all else fails follow the money and nookie.

#10  I agree. I really liked Harry, until got married. He served in actual combat, until some idiot reporter outed him. Then he became an attack helicopter pilot. Yes, he had some escapades, but who wouldn't, if he were young rich and good looking?

Tucker Carlson Interview: Mark Epstein Reveals Inside Info About His Brother's ‘Suicide' (VIDEO)
[Gateway] Tucker Carlson on Thursday released his interview with Jeffrey Epstein’s only surviving relative — his brother, Mark Epstein.
Goodbye Carlo.
Noted pedophile
...a pedophile himself, or merely a procurer? Not merely, actually, but you know what I mean...
of the rich and powerful Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his prison cell in Manhattan in August 2019 one week after he supposedly attempted suicide.
Epstein, Maxwell, Rich, Assange? Project terminations, why must they be so messy ?
Many people don’t believe Epstein killed himself in after a number of strange coincidences and inconsistencies were revealed following his death.
Most? Only those with an IQ at room temp or above.
Tucker Carlson interviewed Jeffrey Epstein’s brother Mark Epstein.

Mark Epstein refused to appear on camera as Tucker asked him a series of questions related to his brother’s death.
Something tells me Mark's work is not entirely finished.
Mark Epstein said inside sources told him cell blocks were unlocked the night his brother Jeffrey Epstein died in his prison cell. He also believes someone was planted to kill Jeffrey Epstein because several prisoners were transferred out the night after Epstein was found dead.

‘Complete Chaos': Andy McCarthy Issues Ominous Warning On Trump's SCOTUS Case
[Daily Caller] Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy issued an ominous warning about former President Donald Trump’s case in Colorado and Maine.

McCarthy warned the U.S. will turn into "complete chaos" ahead of the 2024 presidential election if the U.S. Supreme Court fails to deliberate on the cases in Colorado and Maine. The two states ruled to remove Trump from the primary ballot citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which states no individual should hold office if they "have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

"Well, I think they have to take the case, Martha [MacCallum] and I say that understanding that they are very reluctant to wade into the politics of the 2024 election. But you will truly have chaos, and maybe two layers of chaos, if this case isn’t grappled with soon by the one court that can sort of put an end to all the questions," McCarthy said during a Thursday segment on Fox News.

McCarthy said the Supreme Court needs to settle “two layers” of the issue to answer whether Trump can be removed from the ballot in the primary and general elections. (RELATED: Turley Gives Single Reason All 9 SCOTUS Justices Should Cut Down Trump Ballot Ruling Without Any Dissenters)

“If you have that, I think currently there are about 33 states where you can have some degree of litigation on this issue already. Multiply that by two if it really is going to be two layers and then you have fifty states making ad-hoc rules about which procedures have to be applied before someone can be found guilty or this disqualification can attach to them under the 14th Amendment. You are gonna have true chaos in the run-up to the election,” McCarthy warned.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision to disqualify Trump from the state primary ballot in a Dec. 19 decision. Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows soon followed suit in a Dec. 28 decision, citing the 14th Amendment.

#1  Not difficult to understand when you realize 'Complete Chaos', a setting aside of the Constitution, and the establishment of martial law are actually the intended outcomes.

"As seen from the outside, the massive upheaval in Western society is approaching the limit beyond which it will become 'meta-stable' and must collapse."

OK lets flip the issue from TRUMP.

Say the US Supreme Courts rules states can disenfranchise voters by refusing to allow their candidates.

Look at all the abuses likely to happen.

#3  ^ That's exactly why SCROTUS is so desperate to dodge involvement in the matter. The abuses are coming in any event, and they don't want any of that stinky effluvium splashing up on their purty robes.

Three wars and one coup: in 2023, the Global South challenges the West
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleksandr Vasiliev

[REGNUM] The traditional “results of the year” genre, especially in such a serious area as international politics, requires trusting the opinion of recognized experts. But we decided to do the opposite and trust the opinion of our valued readers. In January 2023, the “Mir” department was formed in the updated Regnum news agency. He brought together the efforts of experts in various fields of international politics and presented readers with analytical articles devoted to the most important events and processes in key regions of the globe. Our publications have received well-deserved interest from a wide audience, which has become a kind of barometer of world news. All we had to do was select the articles and columns from each of the 12 months that received the most views on our website and social networks, and get a list of the most important events of 2023, in the opinion of our readers.
