[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐In his 29-hour-long testimony to Congress earlier this week, former special counsel Robert Mueller was quick to remind lawmakers that his report on Russian interference in the 2016 election did not exonerate Trump from the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
"Now I want to be clear," he said, "that while this report did not find the president guilty of obstruction of justice or collusion with the Russians, it also does not exonerate him from the assassination of President Lincoln."
Confused congresspeople sat in silence, looking at one another awkwardly.
"While we couldn't place him at Ford's Theatre on the evening of April 14, 1865, we could not confirm he wasn't present, either," Mueller continued. "That is for Congress to decide."
One congressperson asked Mueller if Trump could be charged with the crime of shooting Lincoln in the head when he leaves the White House.
Mueller thought for a moment. "I don't want to answer that. But yes."
[Townhall] Conservatives have long said one of the major issues with illegal immigration is the number of pregnant women who come to the United States solely so their child can be born on American soil. They know that a child born in the United States automatically makes the child an American and, because of that, the parents are allowed to stay in our country. And all of them are able to reap the benefits of being an American, including access to various welfare programs.
Liberals and the mainstream media typically ignore that fact, no matter how much it is presented to them. NBC News, however, did something shocking: they actually did an "exposé" on that very scenario...and acknowledged what conservatives have said for years.
Because of President Donald Trump's agreement with Mexico, those who file asylum claims must remain in Mexico while their case is decided. It's part of the "Remain in Mexico" plan that was recently established.

Only because SCOTUS says so. The line in the 14th Amendment was there to prevent southern states at the time from excluding blacks as citizens in the post civil war era. It was never intended as SCOTUS has chosen to 'interpreted' it.
[Washington Examiner] Rep. Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said the CIA has "come clean" for his review of the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation.
But during a Fox News interview Sunday, he said former CIA Director John Brennan still needs to answer questions.
Host Maria Bartiromo asked the California congressman which agency, the FBI or CIA, was more likely to have lined up confidential sources to make contact with members of the Trump campaign, under suspicion for ties to Russia.
"Well, as you know, we have jurisdiction over both FBI and CIA and what they do overseas," Nunes said on Sunday Morning Futures. "We have lots of information about FBI people going overseas and doing things, we don’t really have any information from CIA."
He added, "So far, they’ve really come clean. I would say the only one who has questions to answer is John Brennan, because we now know that John Brennan briefed Harry Reid on the dossier in August 2016. At the same time he never briefed me or Paul Ryan who was the speaker of the House at the time."
Nunes was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee at the time.

John Brennan coming clean? I'm not going to hold my breath until he does. So far, he has a record of lying to Congress with little consequence for perjury, cover-up and obstruction.
[American Thinker] Democrats are turning on each other. Out of money, out of ideas, zero accomplishments, and with no goodies to dispense, they are now moving into a full-blown hate-fest against one other. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her squad, it turns out, were just the least of House speaker Nancy Pelosi's problems.
Here's the dumpster fire going on with angry black and Latino representatives effectively accusing the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the group charged with holding the House for the Democrats, of racism, according to Politico:
Senior Hispanic and black members of Congress have privately clashed with Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) over her personnel decisions, what they say are tone-deaf comments on race and whether she's lived up to the promises she made during the campaign to win the chairmanship of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
"There is not one person of color ‐ black or brown, that I'm aware of ‐ at any position of authority or decision-making in the DCCC," said Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio), a former chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus. "It is shocking, it is shocking, and something needs to be done about it."
Bustos sought a meeting with Fudge, and Fudge said no.
"Until they show me they are serious about diversity, there's no reason for me to meet with them," Fudge said.
And Fudge isn't alone. Interviews with more than two dozen Democratic lawmakers, aides and strategists detailed months of frustration and unanswered questions about Bustos' efforts to retain staffers of color in top positions, boost Latino voter outreach and hire firms run by people of color. They said Bustos was tactless when challenged by lawmakers of color.
"The overall plan for Latino outreach seems to be some 1980s playbook, which doesn't work anymore," Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.) said.
So it's not about winning, it seems; it's about winning with the right color of people on staff that's what's important. As if one person could perform the job as well as the next one, so get the chocolate box right. This is some amazing bean-counting, focused less on actual winning, which would mean more black and Latino seats in Congress, than it is on the meta-process, on how the winning is done. This is how far-left splinter groups, turning inward on themselves, behave. Far-left communist groups always spew their biggest rage on internal dissenters, which is one reason why they never get anywhere in politics; they are always focused intensely upon themselves. As I have argued earlier, the Democratic Party is becoming DSA-ified, and apparently, the phenomenon is extending well beyond DSA catspaw Ocasio-Cortez. Even the Democratic consultants on the outside are growing angry, yelling racism, too.

This whole diversity schtick disgusts me no ends.
The idea that the color of your skin determines your ideas and values is about the most racist philosophy I know of. I'm sure that Messers Douglas, Thomas, King, Sowell, et al would not agree.
#2
I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character their ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, and preferred gender.
Fixed it for you, Dr. King.

The parallels between American politics and the demagogue pissing contests that are called democracy in India are as never before. At first I thought, the Indian political class blindly apes the west and it's just symptomatic of that. But looking at the global hostility to majority consensus, democratic imperatives and legitimate republicanism - I think it's because liberal parties everywhere are all playing from the same book. Unwittingly ?
Why would you want to destroy your own economy ? Practically ensure that your kids never breathe easy outside their guarded homes ? Make yourself reliant upon the whims of an unforgiving and fickle structure like socialism ?
It's like a common doctrine captures the minds of all these "elites" and "intellectuals". It has similar trends that seek to normalize themselves in every society at the same time. The atheism, the rebellion and obstruction, the class and race division, the polarization dressed as diversity, scorn for nationalist or conservative views, a denial of the misanthropy of islam, the glorification and normalization of immorality and pomp... I could go on, but we all know the pattern.
In my part of the world, the Right is winning simply because they are cruder and meaner than the left. They capture power and hang on to it like Putin or Xi. I don't think any American conservative leader is equipped with that kind of crazy, and maybe that is all right. That would again lead to tyranny.
It's a very difficult situation. The deepState won't let go, the swamp can't be cleared out even in two terms. Trump has no other like him. Somehow, within a few years the American public will have to be educated about the reality of the democrats. Decades of liberal schooling shall have to be worked against to wash out the garbage. You'll have to start at the schools, academia, families. But it can be done. The only way to reverse the madness is if sanity comes from within, a tug-of-war can only be carried on for so long.
Jr. If you notice how the family is working in the administration. I hate family cabals, but you got to go to war with the army you have, if its focused on dismantling Deep State.

Liberal schooling is a failure. These young people today have little interest in the media. A self driven individual will live and learn on their own. There are of plenty of those people fortunately. Yes, the Trump family are good examples.
[Weasel Zippers] Bernie Sanders actually compared Baltimore to a "third world country." But apparently those comments were ok to most of the national media. It’s apparently only bad for Trump to criticize Baltimore for true problems.
Meanwhile, of course, neither Democrats or media will actually pin the blame for the problems where it belongs ‐ on the Democrats who have been in power there for decades.
[WAPO] Nothing unites Democrats more than a deep belief that President Trump must be driven from office. And right now, nothing divides Democrats more than finding the best way to bring this about.
Trump’s racist tweets over the weekend against Rep. Elijah E. Cummings and the city of Baltimore that is part of the dignified Democrat’s district only underscored the moral urgency of ending a presidency that, day after day, brings shame upon our nation.
Trump is not a political genius. He is president because of our outdated and undemocratic electoral college. What he is skilled at is taking advantage of his opponents’ weaknesses, sowing division in their ranks ‐ and setting Americans against each other.
Think about what the Russians, in alliance with the Trump campaign, did in 2016. They drove wedges between supporters of Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton by feeding the sense of aggrievement in the Sanders camp. They worked to lower turnout among African Americans by pointing to the criminal-justice policies of President Bill Clinton’s administration in fostering overincarceration.
Trump’s strategy is thus not just about rallying his base. He also does everything he can to dispirit the Democratic base. He will be happy once again to use social media (and to welcome foreign efforts in this direction) to assail the Democrats from the left. And since Democrats seem to relish attacking each other, they may give him a hand.
The efforts to divide are already unfolding. Consider the well-documented accounts by Michael Scherer and Amy B Wang in The Post and Rachelle Hampton in Slate. They reported on Twitter attacks against Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.) that she is "not an American black" because her parents are immigrants. One version was retweeted by Donald Trump Jr., though he later took it down.

Also, nothing unites the discerning American more in the resolve to vote for him again. I have never understood the basis for the Russian meddling thing.
Did the Russians zap the brains of voters ? Did they pay people to go out and vote republican ? I didn't see any fabricated information or false reports about democrats during the US election coverage in 2016. Everything on the news and internet was true. Benghazi, the emails, ISIS... the POTUS was all but doing Alla hoos on C-fucking-Span ! What were the citizens going to do but vote republican ? Nobody needed to meddle in anything.
If they did 'meddle', like the dems say, all they did was expose the democrat legions for their corruption, lies and deception of US citizens throughout the Obama and Clinton regimes. If they say "they supplied damaging information on Clinton and associates", this means they outed what was criminal activity so she couldn't win. They couldn't very well share this intel with Comey now, could they ? There'd be no point.
Dissemination of correct information, exposure of crime in high positions. How is that a bad thing ? They didn't give it to Manafort or Trump, did they ? No, they disseminated it via leaks out into the web. Just so people would know who exactly they'd be voting for if they voted blue.
Even though this is far fetched, let's surmise they did. It could have been Korea or Israel or an American group. Would that be okay ? Is the constant digging into past records, lovers, friendships and deals (even of family and associates) by the dems not attempts to do the same thing ? The dems even got the Eyetalians and the British involved in their stupid 'insurance policy'. Now that is collusion, even akin to a coup.
I just thought somebody should put this argument too, out there.
You can read the whole thing here, if you have a mind to skip enrolling in the WaPo.

Nope, I have read enough when I got to the first sentence of the second paragraph. Clearly a Trump hater. I for one, will be voting Trump. I suspect Trump will get the popular vote, especially if Warrant or Bernie get the pick...

[American Thinker] The hearing that exposed Google political machinations went very well for a top-notch lawyer and proven excellent debater, Senator Ted Cruz.
In fact Cruz made it look easy, first taking on and bring out the analysis of Dr. Robert Epstein, prominent social psychologist, whose research shows that Google can and will swing millions of votes by the way it modifies its searches and prompts releases to Google customers.
The home run statement of Dr. Epstein, who admitted he was a Democrat, is that the rock bottom lowest effect of Google in a US election is 2.5 million votes if it uses its available tools to influence users in voter choices, with the upper effect in a range of more than 10 million votes.
Then it got very interesting as Senator Cruz questioned a Google rep on the company’s assertion that it is fair and impartial and would not attempt to influence political activities. Of course, that is a joke; everybody knows it is a joke and that Google execs are hair-on-fire leftists who would never consider voting for a Republican, and that’s just the beginning.
When confronted with Project Veritas tapes of Google exec commitment to the Democrat party success and willingness to organize an effort to make sure Trump was not re-elected, the Google representative was just short of speechless, claiming the position she took in the beginning of the examination, that she represented a company that was not in the business of influencing and manipulating the public.
It is clear that a good examination of a hearing witness can accomplish a great deal -- Ted Cruz was well prepared, had his evidence in hand and was fluid and effective in his questions. It’s a great experience to see him work. He has the chops, he has the brain, he has the timing and rhetorical skills‐we need more of Ted Cruz and we need more Ted Cruz types to carry the torch.

#1 Unless & until the Google execs are in actual danger of doing perp walks, this is all just theater.
This.
And whenever I see Conservative Commentariat types blowing sunshine up our ass about "We've really got 'em this time!", it suggests to me that they are either fools or hacks who are trying to put us to sleep.

Some clever Republican should start importing pythons from Florida to get rid of the rats. I am sure a scientist can be shopped who will produce a study showing this is a much greener solution to a rat problem than traps and poison. Sure, the snakes will (probably?) die in winter, so then send a new batch each Spring.

Ditto that #1. They suck the life out of the communities they control. They live in protected areas separate from those they control. Gated communities with heavy security. When you live in these places you are not supposed to better yourself. If you show signs of any advancement you are criticized for thinking you are better them. I have seen this myself.

I think the tax system encourages rent-seeking via taxing work, not land and this tends to concentrate people in ways that would not occur under capitalism (tax title ownership not wealth creation).

They suck the cities dry and then run out of money. Much of the money gets funneled into party power politics, election-rigging, and pay-offs. I came through Detroit the other day. Not a pretty sight. It is another city that has suffered under Dem leadership.

Why? Patronage. They can offer Free Stuff™, and more and more free stuff to city voters while others quibble about such silly things as Paying the Bills with Real Money™.

Because they are so kindly and bleeding heart that they favor the criminals (who all had sad upbringings) rather than the police or victims. the natural result is crime, filth, and stockholm syndrome in the subjects.
Excerpt, possibly the BLUF:
[Baltimore Sun] Acting Mayor Jack Young, tired of seeing people casually toss litter out of car windows or on the ground as they walk down the street, has decided to take on the issue as one of his main platforms. "A clean city is an inviting city," he said during a recent meeting with The Sun’s editorial board. The city’s crime problem makes it hard to keep some neighborhoods clean, he said, noting that criminals don’t like "clean spaces." They need trash piles to hide drug stashes or debris-cluttered alleys to make it difficult for police to chase them. John F. Chalmers, head of the city’s Bureau of Solid Waste, said sanitation workers will clean up trash piles only to have dealers dirty them up again. Some will threaten city employees who try to tidy up. So whatever Mr. Young has in mind, it seems solutions for the trash and crime problems will go hand-in-hand.

Trash, debris, rats are all problems of 'modern' metro areas that seek to dump it on the deplorables every chance they get. Some how all those 'green' solutions end when it comes time to dump and they make it someone else's problem.
[First Street Journal] In an unexpected and abrupt defeat for President Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Supreme Court held that former President Donald Trump cannot be tried on criminal charges. Writing for an 8-0 majority, Justice Amy Coney Barrett stated that, "There is no way on God’s green earth that an impartial jury could be convened to try" the former two-term President. "Sixty percent of Americans love Mr Trump, and 58 percent hate his guts, and thus convening an impartial panel is for all intents and purposed impossible. Any group of twelve Americans who had heard so little of President Trump as to not have a pre-existing, strong opinion would be just too plain stupid to serve on a jury."
Attorney General Rashida Tlaib expressed her displeasure with the sudden ruling, stating that "It was those damned Jews on the Court which caused this!" Justices Stephen Breyer and Elana Kagan are Jewish, and voted with the majority.
Following former Special Counsel Robert Mueller III’s testimony in 2019 that it was possible to indict Mr Trump after he left office, some Democrats had expressed hope that justice could be done once he left office. His re-election victory over Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-South Bend, IN), combined with Republicans retaking control of the House of Representatives and strengthening their margin in the Senate ended all Democratic hopes of impeachment.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg is also Jewish, but has been in a somewhat persistent vegetative state since President Trump’s re-election in 2020, and has not participated in Court decisions since then. During her brief moments of lucidity, Justice Ginsberg has refused to resign, not until a Democrat takes the White House.
Patrick Frey, Chief Judge of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, who had forwarded the case to the Supreme Court early, stating that there was no one in the Ninth Circuit impartial enough to rule on the case, said that, "Well, I can’t say that this decision was unexpected. Mr Dershowitz had argued a very strong case, and, well, the Justice Department’s Solicitor General, Elizabeth Warren, was simply and boneheadedly unprepared."
Hillary Clinton, the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee, made an appearance to say something, though the recordings were unclear due to the spittle which coated the microphones. Mrs Clinton did appear to be unhappy with the decision.
