Researchers Are Now Blaming Mass Shootings in Black Communities On 'Structural Racism'
[Gateway] A group of researchers at Tulane University have conducted a study that claims structural racism plays a part in mass shootings.

Researchers from Tulane studied 51 metropolitan areas across the United States and concluded communities with higher black populations have more mass shooting than communities with a higher white population.

The study notes that structural racism may play a part in mass shootings and defined structural racism as "the normalized and legitimized range of policies, practices, and attitudes that routinely produce cumulative and chronic adverse outcomes for people of color."

The study further shares that Chicago led all cities in mass shootings with 141 mass shootings, which led to 97 deaths.

How odd.

#2  A few ways to look at this .

1. Which Political Party was responsible for setting up the 1960's Voter Plantations?

2. Of these 51 metropolitan areas how many are run by which Political Party.

3. So IF Whites are to blame for Blacks killing Blacks. which Political Party developed, funded and implemented The Great Society ?

4. Which Political Party was responsible for 64+% of all Black or African American kids in 2021 being fatherless?

5. Some additional numbers:

#9  I agree with Structural Racism being the root cause if the proposal is that Democrat control is the equivalent of Structural Racism. The results speak for themselves.

#10  Every analysis of criminal justice statistics finds blacks disproportionately represented in criminal behavior, and in being victims of crime in high density minority neighborhoods. Stripped of all the weasel-wording, the data boils down to the inevitable question - are blacks disproportionately prone to criminal behavior or is the system designed by structural racism to disproportionately arrest and prosecute them?

Inevitably, one of those answers is politically unacceptable, hence the insistence on racism as a causation for the data. However tortured the reasoning, only racism can be acceptable as an explanation.

There are lots of contributing factors to the dis proportionality, some racist, some cultural, and many economic, including enabling public policies.

BUT, the criminal justice system has never been the predominant factor in the disparity. Disproportionate criminal behavior is a major factor, and to deny that is mere intellectual cowardice.

#11  You know, I'm starting to think there is structural racism. It's called the Democratic Party. Their insane desire to keep people on the plantation and wearing their slave collars knows no bounds. So now when their 'slaves' get uppity, they are just blaming us like they do for everything else since they are the poster boy for projection.

Months-long investigation busts human-trafficking enterprise, sex crime syndicate operated in 6 Chicago suburbs: Police
[Blaze] Illinois authorities busted a human-trafficking enterprise that operated in six Chicago suburbs, according to police.

Following a months-long investigation into human trafficking, five people have been arrested. The Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office and the St. Charles Police Department made the announcement on Thursday.

Between Feb. 17 and Wednesday, authorities arrested five suspects who are accused of forcing seven women to engage in prostitution or face repercussions. Officials said all of the women were from South America and brought to the United States for the purpose of sex trafficking.

The seven victims were taken into protective custody on Wednesday morning.

Police arrested Hector Briseno, 54, of Chicago; Christian Hurtado, 27, of Elgin; Daniel Hurtado, 26, of South Elgin; Martha P. Hurtado-Hernandez, 57, of Chicago; and Rigoberto Parra, 46, of Aurora.
Sounds like White Hispanics
All of the suspects were charged with involuntary servitude, trafficking in persons for labor, and promoting prostitution for profit.

Judge Salvatore LoPiccolo set bail for each of the suspects at $5 million with $500,000 to apply for bond, according to the state’s attorney’s office.

Houston Independent School District to cut more than 2300 staff positions amid plummeting student enrollment
[FoxNews] The Houston Independent School District, the largest school district in Texas, reportedly slashed over 2300 administrative positions amid a drop in student enrollment.

According to Houston Public Media [HPM], HISD Superintendent Mike Miles on Thursday announced during a virtual forum the cut of 2,347 jobs, which is more than 20% of the district's staff.

Furthermore, Miles told HPM that "HISD’s central office has grown too much over the past decade."

He added, "At the same time, the student enrollment has decreased 27,000 kids … So that shows you there was bloat in central office, and we’re cutting some of that bloat."

The staff cuts will open up more funds in the budget to pay for 28 campus renovations, which HPM reported will entail "premade lesson plans for teachers,
...intended to reduce opportunities for clever politicized lessons...
classroom cameras for disciplinary purposes
...more reduction of opportunities for politicization, and to provide evidence when students misbehave — much like police videocams...
and a greater emphasis on testing-based performance evaluations,
...what’s measured is improved...
among other initiatives."

Per HPM, "Over the next two years, Miles plans to expand those controversial reforms to a total of 150 schools and to enact a district-wide, pay-for-performance model for all teachers. The changes will be expensive, and Miles said the administration will explore further cuts and possible campus closures over the coming years."

Miles did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. HISD presides over 274 schools and over 187,000 students.

Earlier in the year, HISD was taken over by the state due to years of low student performance at Phillis Wheatley High School. Miles was appointed by the state to address the academic decline and dysfunction in the district.

HISD’s staff cuts come after the coronavirus pandemic ushered in what may be the most rapid rise in homeschooling the U.S. has ever seen. Even after schools reopened and vaccines became widely available, many parents have chosen to continue directing their children’s educations themselves, the Associated Press reported.

Pope Tawadros praises Egypt's vision to build mosques and churches in new residential areas
[AlAhram] The Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Pope Tawadros II, praised in his sermon on Wednesday Egypt's newly adopted vision to build mosques, churches, and schools in every new residential community.
Quite a vision, to be sure, and while thus far it’s been greatly tilted toward mosques, at least there will be some new instead of Christians being forbidden even to repair edifices remaining from the Byzantine period.
The sermon was held at the recently established Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, the Martyr Abi Sven, and Saint Anba Karas in a new residential area in west Alexandria.

"My first visit to this church was in 2020 when President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated it," the Pope affirmed.

He added that the president established this church, along with a mosque and three schools, in one courtyard to allow students to see the mosque’s minaret and the church’s dome together.

Tawadros asserted that youths who see mosques and churches side by side will learn to respect the other and affirm Egypt's unity.

"This is why I take pride in this church," he concluded.

In 2020, the pope consecrated the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, the Martyr Abi Sven, and Saint Anba Karas in Alexandria, and in 2021 led the Palm Sunday mass at the cathedral with limited attendance.

North Korea launches 'several cruise missiles' amid escalating tensions
[GEO.TV] North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
has launched several cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea, further heightening tensions in the region.

The latest missile launch comes as relations between North and South Korea are at a critical juncture. The South Korean military reported the incident, and both South Korea and the United States are closely monitoring the situation.

"We take this missile launch very seriously. It is a clear provocation that adds to the instability in the region," said a spokesperson for the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The missile launches are the latest in a series of aggressive actions by North Korea, which has been conducting various weapons tests. The international community has been concerned about North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile programs, and this recent display of military force has further heightened those concerns.

"This behaviour is unacceptable and poses a threat to regional peace and security," said a US State Department official, stressing the need for diplomatic solutions.

The tensions have also prompted Seoul and Washington to strengthen their defense cooperation. Joint military exercises and the increased presence of strategic assets have been witnessed in response to North Korea's actions.

"We stand united with our South Korean allies in the face of these provocations," said a US defense official, highlighting the importance of solidarity in dealing with North Korea's actions.

The situation has garnered global attention, as the world closely watches how events unfold. Any miscalculation or further escalation could have serious consequences for regional stability and international relations.

As of now, diplomatic channels remain open, but North Korea's continued missile tests have further complicated efforts to engage in meaningful dialogue.

"We call on North Korea to cease these provocative acts and return to the negotiating table," urged a United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
spokesperson, highlighting the need for de-escalation.

Home Front: Politix
Against SecDef's Wish, Diversity-Obsessed Biden Picks Woman To Lead Navy

[Reuters via ZH] Casting aside the recommendation of his defense secretary, President Biden on Friday nominated Admiral Lisa Franchetti to command the US Navy. If confirmed, she would be the first woman to command a military branch and the first on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Biden's move took many observers by surprise, as Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had recommended Admiral Samuel Paparo for the position. Paparo is TOPGUN graduate with more than 6,000 hours in F-14s, F-15s and F/A-18s, 1,100 carrier landings and experience commanding forces in war zones.

However, with the Biden administration obsessed with diversity hires, Paparo's bid was likely doomed by the fact that he's a white man.

WASHINGTON, July 21 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden on Friday nominated Admiral Lisa Franchetti to lead the Navy, an historic step that would break a gender barrier in the U.S. military by making her the first woman to command the service and to become a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The decision by Biden is a surprise. Pentagon officials had widely expected the nomination to go to Admiral Samuel Paparo, who leads the Navy in the Pacific and who has experience grappling with the growing challenge from China.

Still, Franchetti, who is currently the vice chief of operations for the Navy, was among the candidates believed to be in the running for the position, is widely respected and counts broad experience, including as commander of U.S. Naval Forces Korea, officials said.

In a statement, Biden noted Franchetti's 38 years of experience.

"Throughout her career, Admiral Franchetti has demonstrated extensive expertise in both the operational and policy arenas," Biden said in a statement, noting that she was the second woman ever to achieve the rank of four-star admiral in the U.S. Navy.

Last year, Biden picked Admiral Linda Fagan to lead the U.S. Coast Guard, making her its first female commanding officer. But the coast guard is not formally part of the Department of Defense, and instead falls under the Department of Homeland Security.

Franchetti would become the first woman to lead a military service within the Defense Department and to join the Joint Chiefs of Staff, a group of eight top uniformed service members who advise the president on military issues.

Biden also elevated Paparo, nominating him to become the commander of all U.S. military forces in the Pacific. He picked Vice Admiral Stephen "Web" Koehler to succeed Paparo as commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Biden's announcement comes during a block on all U.S. military nominations in Congress by Senator Tommy Tuberville, who is protesting a Defense Department policy that reimburses costs for service members who travel to get an abortion.

Senior military nominations must be approved by the Senate. Although the review is usually routine, a single senator can pause the process by putting a hold on nominations that force them to be considered one at a time, taking many hours each.

Tuberville's block could have a far-reaching impact across the armed forces, affecting troops and their families, and ultimately costing the U.S. military talent, a point underscored this month by Biden's pick to become the top U.S. general, Air Force General Charles "C.Q." Brown.

The military is already having to shuffle staff to fill a top leadership post after the commandant of the Marine Corps, one of the members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stepped down on July 10 when his four-year term ended.

His Number 2 has taken over but the hold on promotions has left the Marine Corps without a confirmed leader in the job for the first time in more than a century, the Pentagon said.

Biden said the delay undermined national security.

"What Senator Tuberville is doing is not only wrong — it is dangerous," Biden said in the statement.

"He is risking our ability to ensure that the United States Armed Forces remain the greatest fighting force in the history of the world. And his Republican colleagues in the Senate know it."

Manipur Viral Video Case: 4 Accused Sent to 11-Day Police Custody
[OneIndia] All four accused individuals allegedly involved in a heinous incident where three women were stripped, paraded, and assaulted by a mob on May 4, were remanded to 11-day police custody, as reported by ANI, citing Manipur police. The arrests were made after a viral video of the shocking event surfaced on social media.

According to coppers, the investigation team has identified at least eight more men who were also part of the incident, and they are likely to be arrested soon.

This action comes 77 days after the horrifying incident took place, which sparked nationwide outrage. The police had reportedly refrained from taking any action earlier due to a perceived lack of evidence, as mentioned in the Indian Express report.

Additionally, on Thursday, a mob took matters into their own hands and set fire to the house of one of the accused individuals, who was prominently seen in the viral video of the women being paraded naked in Manipur. The house belonged to the main accused, Huirem Herodas Meitei. Various videos circulating online showed protestors, primarily women, setting fire to the accused's residence as an act of retribution.

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Friday condemned the incident and said that the "Manipur society is against crime against women."

"...They consider women as their mothers. We have launched statewide condemnation protests, both in the valley and hills, over the video that went viral and tarnished the state's image. People are protesting across the state regarding the incident and demanding the strictest punishment for the accused. This protest is to support the government to punish the accused," he said.
Dawn adds:
Manipur’s state government, led by the ruling Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said police took action when the video surfaced on social media more than two months after the incident.

A "thorough investigation" was under way, the state’s chief minister N. Biren Singh tweeted.

"We will ensure strict action is taken against all the perpetrators, including considering the possibility of capital punishment," he added.

The incident came at the start of the violence in Manipur, which was sparked by a dispute over access to government jobs and other perks.

Homes and churches were torched, with tens of thousands of people fleeing to government-run camps.

The festivities between vigilante gangs from rival communities have continued intermittently, pitting the majority Meitei, who are mostly Hindus and live in and around Imphal, against the mainly Christian Kuki in the surrounding hills.

In a detailed report to the court in June, civil society group Manipur Tribal Forum said many gruesome acts of violence including rape and beheading had not been investigated by state authorities.

One such incident appeared on Twitter on Thursday — reportedly showing an aide to a BJP politician in the state holding a victim’s severed head — and disappeared from the platform within hours.

The Kuki community had protested Meitei demands for reserved public job quotas and college admissions as a form of affirmative action, stoking long-held fears that they might also be allowed to acquire land in areas currently reserved for tribal groups.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has faced criticism from opposition politicians, said on Thursday in his first public remarks on the violence that the country was "shamed" by the incident.

India’s Supreme Court also warned Modi’s government that, if it does not act, "we will".

Experts told how to keep a clear mind in the 'silver' age
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Every year on July 22, World Brain Day is celebrated. Its goal is to increase people's attention to health issues of the most important and most mysterious part of the human body. Scientists are sure: the more active the brain works, the better it is preserved. The intensive functioning of the brain allows a person not only to become successful and efficient in any activity, but also to maintain a clear mind, cheerfulness at an older age.
I bet if anyone tested it, it would turn out that reading Rantburg is as helpful as doing crossword puzzles or Sudoku. Perhaps it should be translated into Russian, though not by badanov, who is busy.
In Russia , the national project "Demography" helps older people to stay active and keep their body and brain in good shape . Thanks to the national project initiated by President Vladimir Putin,
(PBUH)
thousands of different practices of active longevity are being developed in different regions of our country, helping to maintain physical, social and mental activity at an older age.

With the support of the Demography national project, the All-Russian selection of the best practices for active longevity is held annually. In 2023, out of 923 applications received for selection, experts selected 113 different projects for replication, 39 of them aimed at restoring and maintaining mental health.

Vologda neuropsychologist, organizer of the Silver Age – think, act, live! Varvara Chernysheva believes that the best way to maintain the usual rhythm of life is to learn new activities. For her initiative, she chose three areas: gymnastics for the brain, physical activity and an active social life.

“Mind gymnastics helps to train attention, memory and thinking, including in the process of mastering new activities. When a person learns unfamiliar difficult material, he forms new neural connections.

The second mandatory direction is physical activity. When a person leads a healthy lifestyle and maintains physical activity, this has a very positive effect on brain function and mental health, ” the psychologist explained. According to Varvara Chernysheva, an active social life helps prevent the development of dementia and other mental changes.

“With age, a person becomes less socially active, it is more difficult for him to find a new social circle. This leads to social isolation, loneliness and consequent depression. This is one of the causes of dementia and Alzheimer's disease,” the expert emphasized.

Project teacher Marina Bryzgalo says that she herself is in the “silver” age and understands what is happening to her students. “I understand the psychological problems they face. Very many, only having come to these classes, realize the degree of age-related processes that they have already begun, ” the teacher explained.

One of the participants in the practice, Svetlana Petrova , says that she underwent a serious brain operation 10 years ago. “I have a difficult diagnosis, but in the classroom I forget about my illness, about dizziness. I try to load memory all the time. It helps me a lot,” says Svetlana. “I always worried that dementia would come at an age. And now I feel: she does not threaten me,” said another participant in the project Antonina Marashova.

In Priozersk, Leningrad Region, participants in another finalist project in the selection of best practices “From fitness for the mind to active longevity” are engaged in the prevention of mental health disorders using a complex of eight programs. They help older people reduce risk factors for cerebrovascular accidents, activate all parts of the brain, improve visual and auditory memory, attention and fine motor skills.

“The project helps to prolong active longevity without memory impairment. We have developed effective, interesting and understandable methods, exercises, trainings. Their daily use contributes to the prevention of cognitive disorders. Older people act here both as mentors and as volunteers - they set an example and help newcomers adapt,” said Natalya Naumenko, director of the Priozersk Integrated Center for Social Services for the Population .

Neuroscientists and psychologists are convinced that mental health at an older age depends on how fine motor skills are developed in a person. Therefore, to prevent dementia, participants regularly do finger exercises under the guidance of an instructor.
Piano, for example, or typing on a computer keyboard, though I’ve no doubt the occupational therapists would add crochet and embroidery to the list.
Older people are also treated by a rehabilitation specialist. In order to detect dementia in the early stages and begin treatment, during cognitive training, the instructor and his mentee together identify developing absent-mindedness and frequent mood swings.

The project participants are also involved in neuroscience, an innovative technology aimed at stimulating human intellectual activity with the help of puzzles and rebuses. Exercise helps to better concentrate and learn new knowledge, support brain function and avoid memory deterioration.

In the Samara region, participants in the Healthy Longevity project are engaged in the prevention of cognitive disorders. With the support of social workers, older people do adaptive physical education, breathing exercises, brain exercises, exercises to preserve memory, attention and thinking.

One of the main methods of practice is the Makaton language program, which combines sounding speech, gestures and pictures-symbols. Makaton language helps to communicate with older people with communication difficulties, those who find it difficult to pronounce words and perceive speech. “Our project increases the availability of cognitive assistance for older people. Under the supervision of trained social workers, they perform regular exercises at home to preserve memory, attention, and thinking. Ultimately, this helps to strengthen their mental health and prevent dementia, ” said Galina Peyl, director of the Center for Social Services for the Population of the Northern District .
Songs are stored in a different part of the brain than spoken language, so people can communicate via singing even after they’ve lost the connection to speaking.
Alla Galtsova, a participant in the Healthy Longevity project, notes that the classes helped her develop physical activity and improve her well-being.

“I enjoy spending my leisure time, reading books, solving crossword puzzles. I enjoy doing physical exercises. Thank you for the project,” she shared.

Another Healthy Longevity participant, Nadezhda Tetebinova, is taking brain and breathing exercises together with social worker Svetlana Tikhonova . She says that she began to feel much better: her blood pressure improved, shortness of breath decreased, absent-mindedness went away.

“My wards are satisfied and happy with these activities. They have increased intelligence, improved mood, there is a desire to move more. It's nice to watch when they are in a good mood, smiling, enjoying life , ”says Svetlana Tikhonova.

As IA Regnum reported , the All-Russian selection of the best practices for active aging is held annually with the support of the Demography national project. Over the year, the number of participating regions increased to 59, and the number of applications increased one and a half times - from 689 to 923.
All gratitude to Tsar Vladimir Putin I, great father of his people!
