Texas woman shot in the head, killed after husband flips off erratic driver
[NYPOST] A Texas woman was shot in the head and killed in her car Monday when her husband flipped off an erratic driver and the man fired several shots into their vehicle.

Paola Nunez Linares, 37, and her husband were driving in Hurst, a city that is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, just after 9 p.m. Monday when she was shot, police said.

First responders found Linares with a gunshot wound to the head and rushed her to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
He's dead, Jim!
police said.

Zane Jones, the slain woman’s husband, said he was driving their minivan when he flipped off a car that was driving aggressively, trying to push his car off the road.

"I looked over at him when I did it, and I thought he was flipping me off too. But it turns out he was holding the gun," Jones told Fox 4 News.

"He slowed down until we were about like that, and he shot through my back left window and hit my wife in the back of the head."

The other driver, who police say was in a small, dark, older-looking car, fired at least three times into their minivan, Jones said.

Former Manson family member Leslie Van Houten released from California prison. Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger reported still dead
[CNN] Leslie Van Houten, a former Charles Manson follower and convicted murderer, was released from a California prison on Tuesday, a prison spokesperson told CNN.

Van Houten was released to parole supervision, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesperson Mary Xjimenez said. Van Houten will have a three-year maximum parole term with a parole discharge review occurring after one year, Xjimenez said.

Van Houten, now in her 70s, was 19 when she met Manson and joined the murderous cult that came to be called the “Manson family.”

Prior to her release on Tuesday, she was serving concurrent sentences of seven years to life after she was convicted in 1971 for her role in the killings of supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, at their Los

Dad goes nuclear over what doctor said to his 9-year-old (video)
[WND] Mama bears growl and paw the earth when it comes to protecting their kids from predatory LGBT ideologues. The papa bears are joining in. Instead of growling, they're bellowing.

Texas Republican State Delegate Sarah Fields tweeted a video of a man sitting in his car that went viral with more than 14 million views.

"This is why I homeschool and why I make sacrifices to pay for a private family practitioner," Fields wrote. "The world has lost its mind. I’m sharing his video here because I already know his video will be taken down on TikTok."

Be forewarned: I meant it when I said papa bears are bellowing. When men bellow, it's generally chock-full of expletives. This video is no exception.

Boys Not Allowed in Girls' Choir
[ CitizensDefendingFreedom via Bongino] Citizens Defending Freedom, a nonprofit focused on protecting the faith and freedom of Americans, is celebrating after the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) rejected a push by LGBT activists to allow boys to join the Singing Girls of Texas choir.

The FWAFA School Board also barred girls from joining the Texas Boys Choir. In late June, the School Board voted 4-3 in favor of using biological sex to separate the choirs, despite the fact that LGBT activists wanted gender identity to be the defining factor.
Dunno. Think they missed a bet here. How many girls choirs have a strong bass section?
Boys and girls both generally sing in the alto-soprano range until the boys’ voices change… though one of the boys in the chorus the trailing daughters sang with in high school had a sopranista — a normal mature male who naturally sings in the soprano range (a very high tenor not needing falsetto to achieve the sound). His speaking voice was normal, but he sang in the soprano section — and because of the greater volume of the male chest cavity, his solos sounded as eerie as a glass harmonica.
“This is another great win for kids and parents in Tarrant County,” said Kenya Ayoub Alu, executive director of Citizens Defending Freedom - Tarrant County. “We’re simply standing up for common sense. Boys should not be allowed to sing in the girls’ choir, and girls should not be allowed to sing in the boys’ choir. A simple solution would be to establish a co-ed choir in addition to the girls’ choir and boys’ choir.
Yes. The answer to many such situations.
To us, it is absurd that we even have to have this debate, but as long as the liberal activists keep pushing their agenda, we will keep fighting back.”

#2  Freedom of Association is a neglected right. Competitions should have the ability to create rules that make sense to themselves. When I was in high school, a wrestling coach once tried to recruit me, for instance. I did not have the option of identifying as 126 pounds, so my chances of domination were not great. Weight classes, steroids bans and religious restrictions make sense in many situations and are Constitutionally protected. The banning of biological males from women’s sports and, in particular, women’s locker rooms is legal based on my understanding of the right of association.
Choir restrictions ought to be able to be controlled by a governing body within a state. I don’t see a reason why even chess club could be divided by sex or not depending on what the participants want. For consistency I would not even balk at African American student who demand separate housing or college graduation ceremonies. Unfortunately, that opens the door for white supremicists that want similar treatment. I would probably issue those guys some really special looking diplomas that would make them easily discernible.

CNN under fire for misgendering Dylan Mulvaney: 'Unbelievably bad'
[NYPOST] CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
is under fire for misgendering Dylan Stench of Death Mulvaney
...the transexual influencer who single-handedly trashed a major American beer brand owned by a Belgian company, tainted Maybelline and Condé Nast, and then demanded that anybody who called him/her/it a man be arrested...
as "he" and "him" in a segment about the "culture war" being waged over the transgender influencer’s partnership with Bud Light.

Correspondent Ryan Young failed to use the 26-year-old influencer’s preferred pronouns in a short segment about the backlash against the beer giant that has led to plummeting sales.

Young also mispronounced Mulvaney’s first name as "Dylvan" while describing the social media star to "CNN News Central" viewers Tuesday.

"He, of course, is the transgender person they were going to sponsor and go along with, with Bud Light," Young said, using "he" instead of Mulvaney’s preferred "she."

"But [trans activists] didn’t like how Bud Light didn’t stand by him after all this," Young said, again failing to use the influencer’s preferred "they."

Neither Young nor host Kate Bolduan, whom he was talking to at the time, corrected the misgendering — finding themselves part of the very "Bud Light backlash" they were reporting on.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Sinkhole that swallowed a Florida man while he slept has reopened, officials say
Was there a 'burrrp'?
[FoxNews] Sinkholes are common in Florida and as much of the central part of the state sits on highly porous carbonate rock.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it is safe for residents of a Seffner neighborhood to remain in their homes despite a sinkhole that has reopened at the same site that swallowed a Florida man while he slept in 2013.

County officials say they received a call around 4:30 p.m. on Monday that the sinkhole had reopened and fire crews, along with deputies were called out to the site.

John-Paul Lavandeira with Hillsborough County code enforcement says engineers will be on-site Tuesday to assess the sinkhole, which he estimates to be about 12 feet by 12 feet.

In March 2013, the sinkhole opened underneath a home, swallowing Jeffrey Bush, who was asleep in his bedroom.

His brother, Jeremy Bush, tried desperately to save him but was unable to.

Rescue crews never recovered the body.

Harry and Meghan 'know they've gone too far' in royal attacks: source
[NYPOST] Prince Harry
and Princess Meghan Markle
...unlikable American former starlet married to the formerly likable Prince Harry. Chock full of lefty political opinions, Markle's most important characteristic is that she is Black, even though she doesn't look it. Her mother, y'see, is half black and her father is white, which would make her a quarter Black. Her half brother described her (to her husband, before their marriage) as a jaded, shallow, conceited woman that will make a joke of you and the royal family heritage. Once married, she was too good for the Royals and she and Harry decamped to Beverly Hills, kind of like the Clampetts did, thus making a joke of Harry and the royal family heritage...
shocked the world in 2020 when they decided to take a step back as "senior members" of the royal family.

Shortly after making the big #Megxit to Montecito, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a slew of projects where they disdainfully discussed their time in "The Firm."

Royal expert Tom Bower now claims the former actress, 41, and the Invictus Games founder, 38, "know they’ve probably gone too far" with combative content after their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" and Harry’s bombshell memoir "Spare."
That was two years ago. If they really believe they did wrong, it’s up to them to apologize and make it right.

#1  That was two years ago. If they really believe they did wrong, it’s up to them to apologize and make it right.

TW,

The problem as I see it is that these two have painted themselves into an extremely well-furnished corner - if Harry were to apologize (and I actually think he might well want to) Her Grace would cut him down where he stands, and she can NOT withdraw her victim status.

Either way, from wherever she gazes upon Mankind, the shade of Wallis Warfield Simpson is laughing her ass off. She may well have hated the Windsors with all her heart for keeping her off the throne as Queen Wallis (and she had some justification in doing so) but she never publicly - stress the 'publicly' - badmouthed her in-laws. For all her flaws many and manifold, she went to her grave with a surprising number of people believing her to be an aggrieved party.

#3  The background issue here is Harry is 'Spare' no longer. Once William's first son hit the table, Harry became a remainder.
Then there's Meg (aka Yoko Ono for the 21st century, maybe they should get together): she's sure it's because she's black. In reality it's because she's useless. They gave her a good job for a useless person, but she thought she should be in charge.

'Sound of Freedom' actor Jim Caviezel responds to media attacks: 'They're scared. Quaking in their boots'
[Blaze] Jim Caviezel, star of the movie "Sound of Freedom," made striking remarks about media backlash toward the film in a recent interview with the movie studio's CEO.

"At least they broke their silence. It means they can't ignore this issue; they cannot ignore it," the actor said, as reported by Breitbart. "They’re scared. Quaking in their boots. And it’s because the public are listening to their hearts, which is what this film tells you to do."
Graphic depicts human mules humping drugs across the boarder.
The film, which is based on a true story of a Department of Homeland Security agent regarding the realities of child trafficking, blew past box office expectations on its July 4, 2023 release date. The movie surprised critics by beating the latest "Indiana Jones" installment and was expected to reach $20 million over the first six days of its release.

The movie had more than doubled that benchmark after six days in theaters, reaching nearly $46 million as of July 10, 2023, according to Box Office Mojo.

Ship crews usually can only sustain a deployment rotation for six out of 18 months deployed without family implosions.
I would have expected 33% in the yard. I can see 40%. Some types of submarines used to be staffed with a gold and blue crew that would switch out to keep the asset deployed. I don’t know whether that is still done. I did not sail on subs.

#6  Submarine duty sucks! Imagine 70 days underwater. No running because rythmatic noise can be detected. No weights because dropping one could be detected. No music except through sound powered phones. Great food and air though. At time I left, a very knowledgeable DR. Explained that most retired enlisted lived from 5-7 years after retiring. With stents, pace makers, TVRs and bypass surgery this is probably not true anymore. Oh, 95% divorce rate!

#7  A nickname for US attack submarines was "long, black and never comes back" or as my older brother, a USN vet and former bubblehead told me: "So here you are on a two month patrol underwater (no liberty and all underwater) and the high command calls down and says 'Well, the sub that was going to relieve you fouled its propellers in a harbor so *oops* your cruise is extended until we can scrounge up another sub ...eventually'."

EV sales in the dumps - The gov't Green Lie Unfolds
[Hot Air] If you are selling electric vehicles and your name isn’t Tesla, good luck getting your car off the lot.

Unsold EVs are stacking up in dealerships, even once hot-selling cars like the Mustang EV (which, by the way, I think is truly ugly).

The growing mismatch between EV supply and demand is a sign that even though consumers are showing more interest in EVs, they’re still wary about purchasing one because of price or charging concerns.

It’s a "Field of Dreams" moment for automakers making big bets on electrification — they’ve built the cars, and now they’re waiting for buyers to come, says Jonathan Gregory, senior manager of economic and industry insights at Cox Automotive.

Waiting for Electric Vehicles to Sell
[Epoch Times] The number of unsold electric vehicles at dealers in the second quarter tripled compared to the past year, signaling a weakened demand for the segment, said a recent report by leading auto-dealer data company Cox Automotive.

Brands like Jaguar, Infiniti, and Lincoln had the highest days of supply, at over 100 days. The lowest numbers were seen among Toyota, Honda, Kia, and Lexus, with each brand having less than 30 days of supply.

Tesla continued to dominate the luxury EV segment with a market share of 25.5 percent, followed by Mercedes at 12.5 percent, BMW at 12.2 percent, and Lexus at 11 percent. Among EVs priced above $50,000, Ford held the biggest share at 22.1 percent, followed by Chevrolet at 12.1 percent.

According to the firm’s Dealer Sentiment Index, the biggest factor which held back EV dealers during the second quarter was the state of the economy. This was followed by interest rates, limited inventory, market conditions, and credit availability for consumers.

Electric vehicles are being promoted across the United States mainly by Democrats who are putting in place a series of policies that provide incentives to consumers who buy such vehicles and subsidies to companies that set up plants to manufacture them.

"The Big Three automakers—Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis—are taking billions of dollars in government subsidies to go electric, but those benefits aren’t trickling down to UAW members," [the UAW President] said.

According to the union, when GM shut down its traditional vehicle plant in Ohio in 2019, workers were on track to make as much as $30 per hour. When the company opened a new EV plant in 2022, workers were being paid just $16.50 per hour, on track to make only $20 per hour after seven years.
Does Tesla have UAW representation? They're selling 25% of EVs, and there are a plethora of them in my neighborhood.

Goldman Sachs has reportedly warned Wall Street about its tanking profits
[NYPOST] Goldman Sachs is taking the unprecedented step of telling Wall Street analysts that the investment banking giant’s quarterly estimates aren’t much to write home about.

Goldman is bracing for an earnings report due out next week that will likely show a sharp drop in quarterly profits, according to Bloomberg News.

Analysts told Bloomberg they have slashed their profit estimates for Goldman by almost half since the middle of last month.

The figures will likely add to the angst and negative sentiment surrounding Goldman CEO David Solomon, whose management style and leadership have been called into question by partners in recent months.

The Post reported last month that Goldman partners have griped over skimpy bonuses as well as Solomon’s ill-fated foray into consumer banking.

"This is likely the worst quarter since David Solomon became the CEO," Mike Mayo, a Wells Fargo & Co. analyst, told Bloomberg News.

Version of the Spanish expert about the death of the 'Titan' called complete nonsense
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The version of the Spanish expert Jose Luis Martin that the passengers of the Titan deep-sea submersible did not die immediately, as they fell on top of each other due to the fact that this ship began to "like an arrow" vertically sink to the bottom, does not hold water. This was stated on July 12 by Russian submarine experts interviewed by a Regnum correspondent.

So, according to the historian of the submarine fleet, captain of the 1st rank, officer of the submarine fleet Nikolai Cherkashin, such versions do not inspire any confidence and are designed to "squeeze a tear" from a gullible public. He categorically criticized the reasoning of the Spanish expert, who believes that the "Titan" turned into a vertical position due to a power failure.

“The death happened in seconds. And there were no worries or tears. The passengers did not even understand what had happened. They sat and suddenly disappeared. Fraction of a second! The device was shattered into pieces. No facts indicate that the apparatus had any problems with the power supply. It's not about the power supply, but about the strength of the case itself. In addition, the shape of the apparatus, which was not suitable for such dives, was chosen - cylindrical instead of spherical,” Cherkashin stated.

Even more skeptical of this version was Evgeny Chernyaev, the hero of Russia, the commander of the Mir-2 deep-sea vehicle of the laboratory for the scientific operation of deep-sea manned vehicles of the P. I. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“This is complete nonsense. Where would he get the ballast to make the apparatus "sink like an arrow"? And why should he stand upright? The device maintains its position in the water not at the expense of electricity. It must be balanced in advance,” Chernyaev said.

He does not inspire confidence in the explanation that all the people gathered near the front porthole and thereby created such a load, which turned the Titan into a vertical position. According to him, if you take into account the size of the apparatus, it becomes clear that its passengers could not crowd in one part of it.

"And even if he stood upright, his speed would change by 10-15 meters. In a minute! What arrow?" the expert was outraged.

Developing this idea, Chernyaev stated that the Titan's hull was not designed for such depths and could not be used as a manned vehicle. He did not pass the normal tests. According to him, simply lowering the device to a depth is not a test. It must be carried out in a special chamber, when the entire body is equipped with sensors that show at which point which deflection.

As for whether the passengers of the Titan could understand what was happening, Chernyaev admitted that before everything happened, they could hear some sounds, such as grinding. But people still would not have had time to understand what was happening, since the process very quickly "acquired an avalanche-like character."

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that, according to the version of Jose Luis Martin, millionaires on the Titan, a few minutes before their death in pitch darkness, fell like a stone to the bottom along with the device that had lost control and realized that they were dying.

The underwater vehicle of OceanGate Expedition, designed to deliver tourists to the site of the sinking of the Titanic, disappeared on June 18 in the Atlantic Ocean. Communication with him was lost less than two hours after the dive. Five people were on board: OceanGate Expeditions founder Stockton Rush, British billionaire Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman and billionaire Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleiman, and French aquanaut Paul-Henri Narjolet. The wreckage was discovered a few days later at a depth of 3,800 meters.

To date, OceanGate has suspended all research and commercial operations.

Spanish expert Martin said that the billionaires on the bathyscaphe "Titan" did not die immediately

[Regnum] Millionaires on the bathyscaphe "Titan" did not die immediately. For a whole minute in pitch darkness, people fell like a stone to the bottom along with the Titan that had lost control, realizing that they were dying. This was reported by the British daily newspaper Daily Mail, according to Spanish submarine expert José Luis Martín .

“Imagine the horror, fear and agony. It must have been like a horror movie,” Martin said.

The expert suggested that an electrical failure left the submersible without movement, as a result of which the Titan changed position and fell like an arrow, vertically, with the porthole down. In this case, the fall lasted from 48 to 71 seconds. After those 48 seconds, or one minute, there was an explosion.

Martin compared the explosion to "piercing a balloon" and said that it was caused not only by the great depth, but also by a sudden increase in pressure.

As IA Regnum reported, the bathyscaphe of the OceanGate Expedition company, designed to deliver tourists to the site of the sinking of the Titanic, disappeared on June 18 in the Atlantic Ocean. Communication with him was lost less than two hours after the dive. Five people were on board: OceanGate Expeditions founder Stockton Rush, British billionaire Hamish Harding , Pakistani businessman and billionaire Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleiman, and French aquanaut Paul-Henri Narjolet . The wreckage of the bathyscaphe was found a few days later during searches at a depth of 3.8 thousand meters.

Later, various hypotheses began to appear as to what caused the incident. So, Professor of Florida International University Eileen Maria Marty noted that the destruction of the body of the apparatus occurred in just a fraction of a millisecond. The historian of the submarine fleet, captain of the 1st rank, officer of the submarine fleet Nikolai Cherkashin suggested that faulty batteries became the cause of the explosion on the Titan. One of the creators of the Mir deep-sea manned submersibles, Hero of Russia Anatoly Sagalevich, suggested that the Titan hull most likely collapsed.

Jasper Graham-Jones, an associate professor at the University of Plymouth, said the cause of the explosion could be microcracks that appeared from water pressure during regular diving. Chris Roman, professor at the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island (USA), adheres to the same version. Former Royal Navy submarine captain Ryan Ramsey suggested that one of the possible causes of the disaster was the erroneously designed bathyscaphe hull.

The company OceanGate Expeditions, which organized the dive of the Titan, continued to invite guests to tours to the ship that sank in the Atlantic. Those who wish are invited to choose one of two expeditions to the bottom of the Atlantic: from June 12 to 20 and from June 21 to 29, 2024. The cost of one seat in the bathyscaphe is $250,000.
