[DallasNews] Disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar, who was convicted of sexually abusing female gymnasts, was stabbed multiple times during an altercation with another inmate at a federal prison in Florida.
Two people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press the attack happened Sunday at United States Penitentiary Coleman in Florida. The people said he was in stable condition Monday.
One of the people said he had been stabbed in the back and in the chest.
The people were not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack or the ongoing investigation and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A 14-year-old girl whose family claimed she was sold to a US Marine for sex has been found at Camp Pendleton in California two weeks after she went missing.
Which relative got the money?
The girl was first declared missing on June 13, four days after some relatives said she ran away from her grandmother's house. However, her aunt claims the teen had been sold into sex trafficking.
The teen was found at the San Diego area Marine base on June 28. Days later, a Marine was seen being led from the barracks in handcuffs.
'We can confirm that a Marine with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, 1st Marine Logistics Group was taken into custody for questioning by Naval Criminal Investigative Services on June 28, 2023, as seen on social media July 2, 2023,' Captain Chuck Palmer said. The name of the Marine taken into custody has not been released.
'The incident is under investigation, and we will continue to cooperate with NCIS and appropriate authorities,' he told NBC San Diego.
Palmer confirmed the Marine pictured in handcuffs was being detained and questioned about the missing girl.
The victim's grandmother told the authorities she had run away several times before but had always previously returned.
The girl's aunt, Casaundra Perez, told authorities her niece - who she says has learning disabilities - was sold to the Marine for sex.
She posted to her TikTok account on July 6, clearly nervous about what would happen to her as she feared retribution speaking out about what her niece had allegedly gone through.
'I would just like to preface this video, I did not kill myself, if I go missing or end up murdered the people potentially responsible could possibly be located here at Camp Pendleton,' she said.
She claimed the military tried to engage in a cover-up and that everyone at Camp Pendleton allowed the victimization of the 14-year-old.
'The security looked her in the face and allowed this man to bring a minor on to base where he then proceeded to have sex with her' Perez said.
'Due to her age, she could not have given this consent,' she added, then claiming someone referred to her family by the military told them the Marines were trying to keep the story from becoming public.
Perez added she will release the name of a 'military detective' she believes is behind the coverup if her attorney allows so she can get justice for her niece.
She reiterated as the video ended that she thinks the military will retaliate against her family.
Palmer said the Marine brought in for questioning has not been charged with a crime.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service said its investigation is still ongoing, according to a statement.
'Out of respect for the investigative process, NCIS does not comment on, confirm details relating to, or confirm the existence of ongoing investigations,' a spokesperson said.
[Blaze] Two would-be robbers allegedly attempted a stickup of a Texas man at an ATM in broad daylight. Little did they know it would be the last thing they ever did because the armed man shot both would-be thieves dead, police said.
Around 1 p.m. on July 7, a man in his 20s went to the ATM at a Chase Bank in the southside of San Antonio, Texas. While attempting to withdraw money at the drive-thru ATM the man said two people drove toward him. The two men were also in their 20s.
One individual got out of the car, and the alleged victim believed he was about to be robbed.
The man withdrawing money drew his gun and shot both men.
The suspected robbers both died in the parking lot, according to authorities.
San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus said during a press conference, "It was a robbery that didn’t go well for the robbers."

Rashad Trice, 26, was charged Friday with kidnapping and killing Wynter Cole Smith on Sunday. He was also charged with as well as sexually assaulting and stabbing the girl’s mother, Symari Cole, who is his ex-girlfriend, in a Lansing apartment that same day.

"Preliminary information indicates that a suspect opened fire towards a group of people and then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace," Ciaccia said in a statement.
The officers responded to the scene as they were nearby working a weekly detail around 2:30am to West 6th Street and Johnson Court for a report of multiple people shot, the statement said.
Police "arrived quickly" and provided medical aid on the scene to the injured people.
"Investigators are in the process of reviewing evidence and video, as well as interviewing victims at MetroHealth Medical Center," Ciaccia’s statement said, adding that "no additional information was immediately available."
The shooting comes just days after a series of fatal shootings that occurred during the Fourth of July celebration in Shreveport, Louisiana, leaving at least four people dead with multiple injured.
According to Shreveport Police Lt. Van Ray, two bodies were found when authorities arrived and a third person died at a hospital.
Local Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor also expressed about the Shreveport shooting telling news hounds that she was "livid" and the shooting was "catastrophic, at best".
"Now we are the victim of a mass shooting in our community simply because individuals decided to come in and disrupt a good time that individuals were having," she said.
"A family event that has gone on for years in our community has been disrupted by gunfire because somebody decided to pull their guns and do this. Why, why? My other choice words cannot be articulated on camera."
There have been no arrests and the police have not yet identified the shooters.

[NYPOST] A scooter-riding gunman shot four people in Brooklyn and Queens early Saturday, killing an elderly man and leaving three others hurt in a span of 12 minutes before he was taken into custody, police said.
The 25-year-old shooter was on an illegal scooter at Ashford Avenue and Arlington Avenue in East New York when he drove up behind a 21-year-old man and shot him in the shoulder, Assistant Chief of Detectives Joe Kenny said.
Then, 17 minutes later at 11:27 a.m., the shooter fired one bullet into the back of an Asian man, 87, at 108th Street and Jamaica Avenue in Queens, Kenny said. He was rushed to nearby Jamaica Hospital but couldn’t be saved.
Roughly eight minutes later, another man, 44, was shot in the face at 11:35 a.m. at Hillside Avenue and 126th Street. The bullet lodged in his cheek and he was taken to Jamaica Hospital at death's door, police said.
A couple minutes later, at 11:37 a.m. a 63-year-old Hispanic man was shot in the shoulder at 134th Street and Jamaica Avenue. He was in stable, pH balanced condition.

She told NBC at the time that she 'never could have imagined' that she would make it to the final stage.
Transgender contestants have been able to compete for the crown since 2012.
Thai businesswoman and advocate Anne Jakrajutatip, who bought the Miss Universe organisation in October 2022, also identifies as transgender.
The pageant system was previously owned by former US president Donald Trump.
Ms Jakrajutatip has promised to continue the pageant's legacy of women empowerment and 'evolve the brand for the next generation.'

[Today] At least four people have died in Alabama attempting a dangerous TikTok challenge where people leap off of moving boats and hit the water, officials said.
Capt. Jim Dennis of the Childersburg Rescue Squad told NBC News the four people died in the state over the past six months after jumping out of boats.

[Garowe] The Somaliland army has yet again been dragged into controversy as fighting in Las Anod city escalates, with both parties involved in the conflict refusing to take responsibility for skirmishes that have grounded economic activities in the northern state of Somalia.
For over five months, Las Anod has been the epicenter of violence in Somalia, with local militia SSC-Khatumo pushing to have Sool and Sanag regions governed from Mogadishu instead of Hargeisa, the regional administrative capital of the breakaway region of Somaliland. The militia is embroiled in a tussle with the Somaliland army.
On Saturday, reports indicate, SSC-Khatumo forces accused the Somaliland military of shelling Las Anod "indiscriminately", from East and North, targeting mosque, hospital, and civilian buildings as fighting erupted in the West of the city, leading to questions about the safety of critical infrastructure and civilians.
Several people, including medical workers, were maimed in the bombardment, sources said. This comes days after Gen Taani, the commander of the Somaliland army threatened to launch an all-out offensive against the city which has been under SSC since the start of 2023.
Hargeisa has repeatedly accused Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... of sending reinforcement of troops to Las Anod, arguing that Garowe is directly involved in the conflict by dispatching soldiers. However, a woman is only as old as she admits... Puntland has periodically denied the claims while threatening to join forces with SSC-Khatumo.
Last week, Somaliland threatened to open operations in Las Anod, arguing that United Arab Emirates-trained Puntland Marine Police Force [PMPF] was in Las Anod initiating operations. The fact the Trump is so reviled by the media and persecuted by DoJ is exactly what makes me want to vote for him. I said it when he first ran in 2016: He is pissing off all the right people. DeSantis is good at pissing off the Pride people but he has yet to be vilified and persecuted at anywhere near the same level as Trump.

We have a problem with unelected officials subverting the Constitution. DeSantis would reverse many of Biden’s policies. That would be great, but we need someone turning over tables and cleaning house. Certainly, Trump did not do that the first go round, but a Karl Rove guy is definitely not going to do that.

[GEO.TV] At least seven people died and 15 others sustained injuries when a three-storey building collapsed due to a powerful gas cylinder explosion in Jhelum on Sunday.

[BLAZE] Archaeologists recently unearthed giant prehistoric hand axes in England. Scientists are bewildered at the sheer size of the 300,000-year-old tools and are not positive how humans from the Ice Age used the giant hand axes.
Researchers from University College London discovered the giant hand axes in Ice Age sediments in an ancient river channel in the Medway Valley in southeastern England. The hand axes were found among 800 artifacts buried on a hillside in Frindsbury, Kent. The artifacts were found in the excavation site at Manor Farm that began in 2021. The ancient artifacts are believed to be from the Middle Pleistocene age.
The giant hand axes were crafted from flint stone and measure more than a foot long from tip to butt, plus have very thick bases. Scientists are baffled as to how prehistoric humans were able to use the large stone tools.
"We describe these tools as 'giants' when they are over 22cm long and we have two in this size range," senior archaeologist Letty Ingrey of the University College London Institute of Archeology said in a press release. Ingrey said one of the hand axes is the "longest ever found in Britain."
"These hand axes are so big it’s difficult to imagine how they could have been easily held and used," Ingrey added. "Perhaps they fulfilled a less practical or more symbolic function than other tools, a clear demonstration of strength and skill."
Ancient Astronaut theorists would contend that the beings Biblical scholars call "fallen angels" were in fact extraterrestrials. Iran has faced mounting pressure to allow women into matches after the 2019 death of soccer fan Sahar Khodayari, who set herself on fire for fear of being placed in durance vile Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up! after trying to attend a match disguised as a man.
Khodayari became known as the "blue girl" after the colors of her favorite team, Esteghlal.
