[NY Post] Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit has tested positive for betamethasone, a corticosteroid, the horse’s trainer Bob Baffert revealed Sunday morning. It's a metaphor for the Biden era - The win was stolen, nothing will be done about it and the media will say as one "Nothing to see here..."
Baffert called the failed post-race drug test for 21 picograms of the substance "shocking" because he says Medina Spirit has "never been treated with betamethasone."
"Yesterday I got the biggest gut-punch in racing for something I didn’t do," Baffert told reporters at Churchill Downs in Louisville. "It’s disturbing. It’s an injustice to the horse."
Medina Spirit has not yet been disqualified, Baffert said, as another sample will be tested. Baffert still plans on running Medina Spirit in next Saturday’s Preakness, the second leg of the triple crown.
Another Baffert horse, Gamine, tested positive for betamethasone after last year’s Kentucky Oaks.

[Daily Mail via Breitbart] A business partner Hunter Biden called "the chief spy of China," assigned the president’s son a Chinese-American secretary who was feeding him opposition research to help Joe Biden’s 2020 election bid after the business venture collapsed in 2018, the Daily Mail reported Friday.
The Daily Mail obtained the information from emails contained in Hunter Biden’s alleged "laptop from hell," which has become the gift that will not stop giving to critics of President Joe Biden and his troubled son.
"Under the heading ’Uncle Joe 2020,’ the former assistant encouraged the president’s son to tell his father to ’lead by example,’ ’bring back sensibility,’ and emphasize his experience and age as a strength," the newspaper added.

Joe and his progeny are prime examples of what's wrong with the corrupt world. Change their last names to Reagan, or Bush or Romney and their supporters would be booing them.

Prosecutors alleged that the Milwaukee dad was upset that his children were eating most of his Father’s Day cheesecake, and punched his son and smacked the boy’s face with the back of his hand, which contains metal from a surgery, according to the newspaper.
The child was reportedly pronounced dead early the next morning, after Stackhouse returned from a bar and the family called 911.
Sir Amer suffered a ruptured stomach, bruised kidneys and a torn adrenal gland, and died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen, the article said.
[NYPOST] Three innocent bystanders — including a toddler — were shot Saturday in Times Square when a man arguing with three other people whipped out a gun and wildly fired into the evening crowd, according to police.
The gunfire erupted just before at 4:55 p.m. outside of 1515 Broadway, along West 44th Street, when a dispute between four men took a violent mostly peaceful turn as one of them pulled out a gun and began firing, striking at least 3 people, none of whom are related, cops and sources said. Description: a VERY dark White Supremacist
A 23-year-old woman was struck in the right thigh; a 43-year-old woman was hit in the left foot; and a 4-year-old girl was hit in the left leg, law enforcement sources said.
The child is from Brooklyn and the adults are from Rhode Island and New Jersey, sources said.
Police were in the area and rendered aid immediately.
The shooter may have fled on public transit, a senior law enforcement source said.

[NYPOST] A spicy slip of the tongue led to a Spanish teacher being yanked from her classes after Sherlocks found she performed an "inappropriate sexual act" during a Zoom lesson.
As students at the prestigious Columbia Secondary School for Math, Science, and Engineering remotely watched a "live" class, Amanda K. Fletcher, 37, "appeared to suck the nipple of an unidentified topless male" while "gyrating" or "rocking back and forth," according to the Special Commissioner of Investigation for city schools.
Before that, students watched Fletcher "eating spaghetti" with the shirtless man behind her, the SCI says in a report, dated Oct. 29, 2020, obtained by The Post.
After taking her mouth off the man’s chest, Fletcher "resumed teaching and discussing a worksheet," a student told probers.
Investigators viewed several videos of the incident, which were shared by students on Shapchat and other social media platforms, the report says.
The stunning scene took place on Sept. 30, two weeks after the city Department of Education opened the 2020-21 school year remotely.
The alleged behavior started about 12 minutes before the class ended, while students were still present on the call, the report says.
Fletcher gave no explanation for her alleged conduct. She declined to be interviewed by SCI Sherlocks, and did not return messages from The Post.
"This behavior is absolutely unacceptable," DOE spokeswoman Danielle Filson said.

Thanks to Zoom, about 30 million parents now know understand why America gets such abysmal educational results -- despite spending far more on public education than any country on earth: incompetent teachers, low standards, and an infantile curriculum.
Already about 15% of white families have responded by pulling their kids out of the public schools. This exodus will continue. 5 years from now, the public schools will have lost about 25% of their enrollment. Many public school districts will collapse financially.
The Democrats will respond by trying to suppress charters and homeschooling in the blue states and by doubling down on their investments in Race Communism and Cultural Marxism

Never happen, the parents are too brainwashed and woke now, if they were serious the majority of the 'teacher union lead' school districts would have been emancipated by now, classes re-opened, and children educated by a new crop of 3R's teachers.
The summary - Elon was the only bright spot of the entire night (shocking, I know...)
[NY Post] - Elon Musk hosted "Saturday Night Live" this week like a man with nothing to lose.
That’s probably because his net worth is $166 billion. What’s a 90-minute-long sketch show to a man with an income greater than some countries’ defense budgets?
But 49-year-old Musk had been under pressure for weeks. He was the most controversial guest host of "SNL" since then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2015.
The Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur appeared amid a flurry of anger because of his enormous wealth and his early pandemic skepticism. Cast members Andrew Dismukes, Bowen Yang and Aidy Bryant wrote critical tweets leading up to Musk’s gig, and there were reports that they might even opt out of the episode entirely in protest.
The boycott never happened. Yang appeared alongside Musk in multiple segments, the deafening fracas fizzled out and we got yet another mediocre episode of "SNL".

The show was as mediocre as ever. But Musk's monologue was a brilliant undercutting of a lot of attacks on him by regulators aligned with the other oligarchs who want to catch up in space etc. and by the wokerati.

I don’t know, g(r)omgoru. The article only says:
His return to prison came after the US attorney’s office in Manhattan, which prosecuted Silver’s case, said it had notified the Bureau of Prisons that it had opposed Silver’s release.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons didn’t provide details or a reason for the transfer earlier this week, but Congress gave the Justice Department expanded powers during the coronavirus pandemic to release inmates on furlough and home confinement to prevent them from catching the virus behind bars.
I suspect this is a sign that the pandemic is quietly recognized as waned in New York, even though there are still plenty of restrictions on civilians.
[ChicagoSunTimes] Three men who had been fishing along the Illinois River near Starved Rock State Park died after apparently igniting an explosive powder.
The men — two of whom may be from the Chicago area — were found around 7 p.m. Thursday about 100 yards west of the Route 178 bridge in Utica, authorities said.
They appeared to have been relaxing along the river, fishing, before igniting black powder that was in a hole, LaSalle County Coroner Rich Ploch said. There was no device, though black powder was the original gunpowder and can be used to make fireworks.
No foul play was suspected, he said. "Here, hold my beer"
It wasn’t clear why they lit the powder, but the coroner’s office had two theories. They either lit the powder for entertainment or, what seemed more likely, they were trying to light a fire to cook food that was found nearby, Ploch said.

[NYPOST] Sydney’s Taronga Zoo unveiled a rare short-beaked echidna puggle on Friday, born to mum Gunyi at its breeding facility around seven months ago.
The puggle, the tenth born at the Sydney zoo, doesn’t have a name yet as its gender has not been identified, the zoo said. At this stage it is just starting to look like a small echidna, also known as spiny anteaters.
Echidnas, one of only two egg-laying mammals, are hard to breed in a zoo as they have complex courtship rituals with males only needed at very specific times, the Taronga Conservation Society Australia, which runs the zoo, said.
It is rare to see newborn echidna puggles as they spend the first few months of their lives in a deep burrow made by their mothers. This one will go on display with the rest of the zoo’s echidnas in a few months’ time, the zoo said.

I should have read the article before commenting. Key bits:
The hackers are likely a professional cybercriminal group, and a group dubbed 'DarkSide' was among the potential suspects, two U.S. government officials told Reuters.
Bloomberg News, citing people familiar with the matter, reported late on Saturday that the hackers are part of DarkSide and took nearly 100 gigabytes of data out of Colonial's network on Thursday ahead of the pipeline shutdown.
DarkSide is known for deploying ransomware and extorting victims - while avoiding targets in post-Soviet states. It is believed to be based in Russia.
DarkSide first emerged in August 2020, and has used its ransomware on companies including CompuCom, an Office Depot subsidiary, as well as a Canadian division of rental car company Enterprise.
According to data security firm Arete, DarkSide finds vulnerabilities in a network, gains access to administrator accounts, and then harvests data from the victim's server and encrypts it.
The software leaves a ransom note text file with demands.
Ransoms average more than $6.5 million, Arete said, and the attacks lead to an average of five days of downtime for the business.
What is DarkSide?
DarkSide is a group of hackers which first emerged in August 2020, with a press release declaring their formation.
Since then, they have become known for their professional operations and large ransoms.
The group has a phone number and even a help desk to facilitate negotiations with victims.
They have publicly stated that they prefer not to attack hospitals, schools, non-profits, and governments, but rather big organizations that can afford to pay large ransoms.
'Before any attack, we carefully analyze your accountancy and determine how much you can pay based on your net income,' the press release reads.
So probably not War on Terror. I’m moving this to Page 3: Non-WoT and Cyber.

They can spend the better part of two decades trying to shut down the industry and when the only people left are those who are always having to find the exact right corner to cut to stay in business, they'll be there to sanctimonously exhude moral superiority when they fail.

Terror and extortion kind of go together -- don't you think?

If the Govt want to spend money on "infrastructure", then spend it hardening our essential infrastructure against cyber and electronic warfare. The smart people have been begging for a couple of decades for that, the reason it doesn't get funded is that the Swamp cant use it to control people.

[NYPOST] The New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... reports: "Pfizer Reaps Hundreds of Millions in Profits From COVID Vaccine."
The pharma giant earned revenues of $3.5 billion in the first three months of 2021, estimated to generate around $900 million in profits. All the company had to do was create a safe drug that effectively alleviated the threat of the most deadly virus we’ve faced in over a century — one responsible for hundreds of thousands of American deaths and a cost of trillions in economic damage — and then manufacture and dispense hundreds of millions of doses in the shortest span of any vaccine ever created.
"Unlike several vaccine manufacturers that vowed to forgo profits during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pfizer planned to profit," explained former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich
...just one of many brilliant Liberal/Progressive intellectuals who stand firmly on every conventional idea put forth by their side, almost as if they’d not actually thought about any of it...
to his 1.3 million followers. "Today it announced that the vaccine brought in $3.5 billion in the first three months of 2021, nearly a quarter of its total revenue."
Good for Pfizer.
Why should Pfizer forgo profits that were netted using its time, talents, efforts and experience? Does Reich forgo his $300,000 a year teaching anti-capitalist bunkum to impressionable young minds?

I doubt I will live long enough to read the multi year historical data. I just might live long enough to see the next pandemic, though.

There are lots and LOTS of examples of 20th Century countries that tried to operate without a profit motive (Soviet Union, Communist China before 1979, etc., etc.)

^ And it's worth noting that the profit motive worked like a charm here. How does the $900 mil in profits generated by Pfizer compare to the benefits to the economy as a whole the Pfizer vaccine has produced? And Pfizer's $3.5 billion in revenue doesn't qualify as a rounding error in the massive federal spending schemes on the table, which I'm sure Reich supports (or opposes because they're not large enough).

The main point is that Pfizer in delaying their announcement last Nov. ensured the Orange Man would not benefit from the success of Warp Speed. All else is gravy
[Delfi] On the night of Saturday, May 8, as part of the Swift Response exercise, about 600 paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army were dropped at Nurmsi airfield. In addition to the infantry, three vehicles and two howitzers landed on the field.
Most of the paratroopers were transferred to Estonia directly from the Fort Bragg division base in North Carolina, USA - the flight took about ten hours. The landing over the Nurmsi airfield was carried out from a height of 300 meters using military transport aircraft C-17, as well as C-130, which delivered paratroopers from Lithuania.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
