Afghanistan
Pardoned Prisoners Form The ‘Core Source Of Assassinations’
[KhaamaPress] Amrullah Saleh, the first vice president said on Wednesday morning, that three of the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
amnestied, are the core cause of the liquidations in Qarabagh.

Saleh added, that Qari Sardar and Qari Zabihullah are under investigation in connection with target liquidations.

Saleh is said to soon pursue this issue with the help of the defense forces and national security.

Meanwhile,
...back at the railroad tracks, Little Nell tried to kick her bound feet and scream post the snotty handkerchief Scarface Al had stuff into her mouth...
Sediq Seddiqi, a presidential front man, told the media a few days ago in a video conference that the Taliban demands the release of 7,000 other Taliban prisoners from Afghanistan.

But the Afghan government sees the Taliban’s demand as a premature offer.

The release of these prisoners is seen dangerous for the Afghan people because pardoned prisoner forms the main cores of the liquidations.

With the release of the 5000 prisoners instead of a reduction in violence, the battle has raged across Afghanistan.

BREAKING: Yet Another Muslim Country Joins Abraham Accords With Israel
[PJ] On Thursday, President Donald Trump announced that the North African Muslim-majority nation of Morocco would normalize relations with Israel, marking yet another massive diplomatic breakthrough in the Middle East thanks to Trump's strategy and negotiations.

"Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to full diplomatic relations – a massive breakthrough for peace in the Middle East!" the president tweeted.

America gave Morocco an important concession as part of the deal.

"Today, I signed a proclamation recognizing Moroccan sovereignty over the Western Sahara," Trump added. "Morocco's serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal is the ONLY basis for a just and lasting solution for enduring peace and prosperity! Morocco recognized the United States in 1777. It is thus fitting we recognize their sovereignty over the Western Sahara."

Spain decolonized Western Sahara in 1975, giving Morocco and Mauritania joint administration of the territory. During a war between Morocco, Mauritania, the Sahrawi nationalist movement, and the Polisario Front, Mauritania relinquished control over the territory in 1979 and Morocco secured de facto control of about 80 percent of Western Sahara, with the Sahrawi nationalist movement controlling the rest.

American acknowledgement of Morocco's rule of Western Sahara is a major diplomatic coup for the North African nation, but Trump was also right to cite Morocco's early recognition of the United States. On December 20, 1777, Morocco became the first country in the world to recognize American independence. Morocco would later join the Barbary States in the First Barbary War (1801-1805) against the United States.

Morocco itself has a fascinating history. Christopher Columbus connected Europe with the Americas after King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille united Spain and expelled the Muslim rulers from Granada in 1492 in the Reconquista. After a succession of Arab sultanates ruled Morocco, Spain and France carved out zones of influence in the early 1900s and Morocco finally gained its independence in 1956.

Morocco's normalization of ties to Israel marks yet another historic step toward peace in the Middle East and North Africa, one of Trump's greatest achievements as president.

Trump laid the groundwork for these historic deals by pulling out of the Iran deal, strengthening America's energy independence through oil and natural gas, and moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. The assassination of Iranian Quds Force General Qasem Soleimani also played a key role. Trump put a key check on Iran's influence in the Middle East and skirted the Palestinians' repeated obstruction of diplomatic progress. This opened the floodgates for Arab-Israeli peace deals as countries like Saudi Arabia began to view Israel as a potential ally against Iran.

In the Abraham Accords, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) normalized relations with Israel. Shortly before the Abraham Accords, Trump brought Muslim-majority Kosovo and Christian-majority Serbia together for a historic agreement that included promises to set up embassies in Jerusalem. Last month, Sudan ‐ which recently ousted a dictator who had supported terrorism for decades ‐ normalized relations with Israel.

Egyptian President responds to possibility of war with Turkey
[ALMASDARNEWS] Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, affirmed that Egypt’s policy is to establish excellent relations with its neighbors while always giving priority to dialogue with everyone, including The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
In response to a question about whether there is Ottoman Turkish interference in Libya and the eastern Mediterranean, Sisi said in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, that Egypt’s policy is to establish excellent relations with its neighbors, with dialogue always prevailing, and Turkey should, like other countries in the region, respect the rules of international law and the law of the sea, and not to undertake any action unilaterally without consultation or at the expense of the security and peace of the region.

Sisi stressed that "the Mediterranean Gas Forum, which was established on an Egyptian initiative, is a regional intergovernmental organization that works to respect international law in the sustainable management and environmental preservation of the natural gas resources of each member state ... La Belle France should join this forum soon."

"The eastern Mediterranean is rich in natural gas after the recent discoveries that were made in it. We are winning the logic of cooperation with our allies and partners, including La Belle France, for an organized political dialogue on natural gas. This organization will give priority to settling issues related to maritime borders," he said.

He was then asked about whether a military confrontation between Egypt and Turkey is still a possibility in Libya: "Egypt is working to reach a comprehensive political solution that remains the only possible way to settle this crisis and ensure the stability of this brotherly country, which shares borders with Egypt of up to 1200km. It is imperative to end foreign interventions that threaten the stability of this country, as a result of the transfer of mercenaries and weapons intended for turban militias. "

He concluded by saying that "Egypt will never be the first party to attack. But in return, our armed forces are always ready to defend Egypt and ensure its national security in the face of any form of threats."

Libyan navy's seizure of Turkish ship is major blow to Ankara and its military presence in Libya: expert
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Egyptian military expert, Major General Samir Ragheb, said in a new interview that the detention of the Ottoman Turkish vessel in the Libyan territorial waters constituted a powerful blow to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
and its military presence in the Libyan territories.

Ragheb said in an exclusive interview with RT that the move by the Libyan National Army’s naval forces constituted a major blow to Turkey’s dominance in Libya, especially in regards to their land bridge from their country to the port of Misrata.

"What happened could be repeated again with other ships, perhaps carrying military equipment and mercenaries, which is considered a decisive blow to Turkey and the Ottoman Turkish military presence in Libya, which may push the Ottoman Turkish side to provide protection from military frigates for civilian transport ships operating on the sea bridge," he continued.

"This may lead to a military clash between the naval forces of the Libyan army and Ottoman Turkish naval elements, especially since the Ottoman Turkish side is unable to carry out a naval military operation to attack the Libyan coast in the areas west of Misrata, due to the presence of the red line established by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ( Sirte — al-Jufra), supported by regional and international powers, and in conformity with the UN decision to install a ceasefire, which includes Libyan territorial waters," Ragheb added.

Last week, the Libyan National Army seized a Jamaican flag ship that sailed from Turkey to the Libyan territorial waters, prompting condemnation from Ankara are this move by this military entity based in Benghazi.

Britain
Britain: Human Rights Law Used to Prevent Deportation of Turkish Drug Lord
[Breitbart] A human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
law was successfully used to block the deportation of a Ottoman Turkish drug lord from the United Kingdom despite previously being ruled by British judges to be a "danger to the community".

The 52-year-old Turk — referred to only as ’CD’ as he was also granted anonymity — has been described as a "very major player" in the heroin-smuggling racket in Britannia, yet he will not face deportation.

CD was released from prison in January after only serving two-thirds of his 18-year sentence. Rather than being deported from the country, his lawyers successfully argued that his removal from the country would breach his human rights due to the dangers he would face should he return to his native The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
According to documents seen by the Mail on Sunday, the drug pusher initially entered the UK as an undocumented Democrat in 1995 and was refused asylum, but was granted exceptional leave to remain in the country in the year 2000.

In 2002, CD was arrested after Dutch police tipped off the UK that he was wanted in connection to the heroin trade, and was tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
for four years in that country after police found a loaded pistol in his flat.

While in prison, the illegal Ottoman Turkish migrant successfully argued against deportation and was granted asylum, claiming that his ties to Kurdish separatists and his previous crimes would put his life in danger in Turkey.

CD was arrested again in 2008 after police surveillance of his home found that he was acting as the leader of a "massive" drug importation ring. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison, however, he only served two-thirds of his sentence.

Immigration judges ruled that the Ottoman Turkish migrant was successful in his attempt to "deceive and conceal" the true risk of his release from probation officers.

"We do not accept that he rose from the bottom to the top of an international heroin smuggling ring within 18 months of his release from prison," the judges wrote.

"We think he has wilfully attempted to minimise or conceal his previous involvement in that world," they added, yet this was apparently not enough to deport him from the UK.

Home Secretary Priti Patel laid out plans in November to simplify the system for judges to deport foreign criminals, however, it is currently unknown whether the update to the law would supersede the Human Rights Act of 1998 in cases like that of CD.

In response to the failed attempt
...Curses! Foiled again!...
s to deport the Ottoman Turkish drug kingpin, the Chairman of Migration Watch UK, Alp Mehmet said: "The Government needs to be able to remove offenders who pose a threat to the public."

At present, there are approximately 10,000 foreign criminals remaining in the UK despite being subject to deportation, compared to 3,943 in 2012.

Killer of French Teacher Samuel Paty Celebrated at Funeral in Chechnya
[Breitbart] The funeral for Islamist terrorist Abdulzakh Anzorov
...in our archives as Abdullakh Anzorov, 18, the vicious petty criminal from Chechnya whose refugee status was renewed by France this year for another decade instead of being revoked, and now it is too late. He sent video of the beheading to a Russian-speaking jihadi in Idlib, suggesting he was not a lone wolf...
was held in his native Chechnya over the weekend and the event saw the murderer of French teacher Samuel Paty apparently celebrated as a hero by locals.

The funeral saw a procession of dozens of locals at the village of Shalazhi on Sunday, with many chanting "Allahu Akbar!" as a crowd of around 200 people, including relatives of the dead terrorist, gathered to bury the teen who had been living in La Belle France as a refugee.

Local media reported that the body of the terrorist was welcomed like a hero stating that there were, "traffic jams in neighbouring villages because of the large number of people who want to attend the funeral," French magazine Marianne reports.

Few videos of the funeral have been posted on social media according to the magazine, due to the heavy presence of soldiers who were allegedly confiscating the mobile phones of anyone who filmed the event. The French magazine nevertheless cited footage published by Russian Telegram-based news agency Baza showing the funeral procession and the huge crowd it attracted.

Salman Magamadov, the head of the village of Shalazhi, denied there had been a military presence at the funeral at all, saying that some measures were in place to stop the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
but they had existed prior to the funeral.

Magamadov also denied he had helped the family of the terrorist repatriate his body, which travelled from La Belle France and through The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
before reaching Chechnya.

Reports have also claimed that a street in the village was unofficially named after Anzorov to celebrate his actions.

Anzorov was rubbed out in October after beheading 47-year-old French teacher Samuel Paty in the street outside his own school. Paty had shown cartoons of the Islamic Prophet Mohammed to his class that had been previously published by satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo
...A lefty French satirical magazine, home of what may well be the majority if the active testicles left in Europe...
as part of a lesson on the history of freedom of speech.

According to reports, the Chechen teen had paid cash to students at the school where Paty worked to help identify the teacher before he killed him. He was also said to have been in direct contact with Brahim Chninam, the father of one of the students at Paty’s school who had launched a social media campaign against Paty.

Following the terrorist attack, Chninam was arrested along with radical Islamist Abdelhakim Sefrioui who also contributed to the social media campaign.

Syrian mercenaries are not subject to exchange because they are not prisoners of war: Armenia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The head of the information and public relations department of the Armenian Investigation Committee, Rima Yaghanyan, said that the two Syrian forces of Evil arrested in Armenia are not subject to extradition or exchange because they are not prisoners of war.
Technically they would be mercenaries or terrorists, i suppose.
Yaghayan said that the two Syrians were arrested while they are in the status of the accused, Armen Press reported.

The two Syrian citizens, Yusef al-Abti al-Hajji and Mihrab Muhammad al-Shukhir, were arrested on charges related to international terrorism and a gross violation of the rules of international humanitarian law during the armed conflict.
Terrorists, then. Especially with half the Armenian bodies being sent back with their heads more or less neatly separated.
Under the auspices of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a ceasefire agreement in Karabakh, which entered into force on November 10, Yerevan and Baku agreed to exchange prisoners; however, Yaghayan stipulated that the agreement does not include mercenaries.

The declaration of the ceasefire stipulates that the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces will stop at their current positions, and the Russian peacekeepers will be deployed along the line of contact in Karabakh and the corridor connecting the Armenian lands and Karabakh.

The agreement also includes lifting restrictions on movement, transit and the exchange of prisoners between the two parties to the conflict, and the return of the displaced to Karabakh, under the auspices of the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...

Europe
France Unveils ‘Separatist’ Bill to Combat the ‘Enemy’ of Radical Islam
[Breitbart] A draft law aimed at arming La Belle France against Islamist radicalism was unveiled Wednesday, a measure promoted by President Emmanuel Macron to rout out what he calls "separatists" undermining the nation.

Parliament is expected to open what is likely to be a lively debate on the draft law in the months ahead. The measure, long in the making and refined until days before its presentation, has gone through various name changes and is now known by the delicate title "Supporting Republican Principles."

Prime Minister Jean Castex said those whose project is to "divide and spread hate and violence" are at the center of "separatism."

Separatism is especially dangerous because it "is the manifestation of a conscious, theorized, political-religious project with an ambition to make religious norms predominate over the law," he said at a news conference.

In an interview with the newspaper Le Monde he said the nature of a law is long-term and it would apply to any political ideology that threatens French values, "even if today it is radical Islamism that we try by all means to fight."

Castex and others insist that neither Islam as a religion nor regular Moslems are targeted by the draft law. Neither is named in the text made up of about 50 articles aimed at enabling better oversight of mosques, associations, public services and schools. The aim is to reduce the space where Death Eaters can operate and ensure that French values, including secularism, are guaranteed.

Among notable measures is making school obligatory from age 3 with the ability to opt out in favor of home schooling for special cases only. The measure is aimed at ending so-called clandestine schools run by fundamentalists with their own agenda.

Another article encourages mosques to register as places of worship, so as to better identify them. Many of the nation´s more than 2,600 mosques currently operate under rules for associations. Foreign funding for mosques, while not forbidden, would have to be declared if more than 10,000 euros.

The draft law would make it a crime punishable by fines and up to one year in prison for a doctor to provide a young woman with virginity certificates, sometimes demanded ahead of marriage.

To do away with forced marriages, a measure requires the couple to meet separately for an interview with an official when there is a doubt about free consent. If the doubt persists, the official must take the issue to a prosecutor who could forbid the marriage.

Those practicing polygamy would be forbidden French residence cards.

#1  All of this has easy workarounds. Remember, they're Asians; they know how to deal with any pansy European measures to contain their culture.

No, the countries suffering from islam should have used the instances made available to them of islamic thuggery, and blown them to proper proportions of outrage. Then made a deterrent statement. That even in liberal societies, muslims will be turned into third class citizens, ever fearful for their lives and property if one native citizen is ever harmed. They should be domesticated, isolated from their ummah exterior to the host country and forcibly civilized by selective unfairness, racism, prejudice, what have you... until you are in a position to make demands of their culture.

Then you must threaten to de-recognize islam as a valid religion, unless they cut out parts of their scriptures that imply supremacy and conquest by guerilla techniques.

Anything less than what China does to them, is not even half-measures.

Humanity cannot deserve to be complacent about anything, we cannot create constitutions and wait for utopias to settle in. The rule of reason has to be protected by selective unfairness to unreasonable bastitches.

That was a previous episode. Good book.

Reading The Camp of the Saints while watching the same thing unfold on the news was a bit surreal. The events in the book seemed a trifle preposterous. Would the nations of Europe really roll over like that for waves of unwanted 'migrants'? Apparently, the answer is yes. Or was.

I got access to both novels, Submission and Saints, in English thru the state inter-library loan system. We may not be able to hold an election, but we've got a decent library system.

French man who stabbed neighbor to ‘kill a Jew’ unfit to stand trial
[Jpost] He is the latest French defendant who has successfully used an insanity defense for an alleged antisemitic crime.

A man who told police in La Belle France last year that he had stabbed his neighbor because he wanted "to kill a Jew" was found unfit to stand trial.

He is the latest French defendant who has successfully used an insanity defense for an alleged antisemitic crime.

The 20-year-old stabber, whom French media have not named, told a judge that robots told him to "kill a Jew, who was the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like...
" before the attack in April 2019 in Bourdon, some 100 miles north of Gay Paree. The man stabbed one of his neighbors, a 58-year-old man who is not Jewish. The victim survived the incident with moderate injuries.

The perpetrator was deemed to be not criminally responsible for his actions due to psychiatric problems, and was ordered to remain at a psychiatric hospital, French publication Contact FM reported Tuesday.

In recent years, several perpetrators of allegedly antisemitic attacks have successfully used insanity defenses that allowed them to avoid standing trial for their violence. Many French Jews and organizations have protested these cases, which they say reflects a reluctance by the judiciary to confront antisemitism.

Last year, a French appeals court made a similar judgment regarding a man who killed a Jewish woman in her home while shouting Koranic verses and calling her a "demon" because he had a "delirious episode" brought on by his consumption of marijuana. The judge in the case also determined that the man, Kobili Troare, was antisemitic.

Turkish-Led Gang Made Millions in European Fake Police Scam
[Beitbart] An organised gang led by a Turkish national are said to have made millions of euros by disguising themselves as police officers and robbing the elderly in Vienna.

The gang, which has been in operation since 2018, is said to have been led by a 25-year-old Turkish man who is currently wanted on a European-wide arrest warrant.

He and the gang are alleged to have scoured phone books for residents in Vienna who sound elderly, and then post as police officers to gain trust and access.

The fake police officer then tells the victims their valuables are at risk and that the officer will visit them and “store” their jewellery and other items, Kronen Zeitung reports.

Vienna Terror Attack Memorial Trashed By ‘Turkish Woman’
[Breitbart] A memorial to last month’s radical Islamic terrorist attack in the Austrian capital of Vienna was vandalised by a 56-year-old Turkish woman over the weekend.

The memorial, which is located in the first district of Vienna where the terror attack took place, was vandalised by the woman who kicked candles and flowers that had been left by those mourning the four people killed by Islamic State sympathiser Kujtim Fejzullai on November 2nd.

On Monday morning, the 56-year-old was stopped at Vienna’s airport and when speaking to police, admitted that she had been the one who had vandalised the memorial. Police say that the woman is from Turkey and allegedly suffers mental difficulties, Kronen Zeitung reports.

As the Austrian government dismantles Islamist groups and radical mosques, some member so f the government have received threats in response. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said that radicals had even threatened his family who were subsequently placed under the care of the elite Cobra police unit.

Israel investigates seizure of weapons from military base near Lebanese-Syrian border
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Israeli army announced on Tuesday, the results of its investigation into the theft of weapons from a military base located near the Lebanese-Syrian border.

The Hebrew-language Channel 13 TV reported that the Israeli army announced the results of its investigation into the theft of dozens of weapons from a military base a few months ago.

The commander of the Northern Region Command had decided that due to the incident that occurred a few months ago, the brigade commander will not be promoted for the next four years, and that an officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel will be subject to disciplinary measures and dismiss others.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's knife out of his hand......
the 0404 website reported the Israeli army the investigation proved that the investigation proved many flaws in the security at this base near the Lebanese-Syrian border.

The website said on the day of the incident, 8 alternate officers in the security service of the military base were tried before the deputy commander of the division on charges of negligence, and they were reprimanded.

The site indicated that the Israeli army has confirmed that a joint investigation was conducted by its military investigation police with the Israeli General Police, and it is still ongoing at the criminal level to find out who stole the weapons.

The Israeli Chief of Staff, General Aviv Kochavi, described the theft of weapons from an Israeli base near the Lebanese border as "extremely dangerous."

The Israel Hayom newspaper reported that the Israeli army presented to the Chief of Staff, the results of the preliminary investigation into the incident of stealing weapons from a military base in the north, which took place on September 6th.

Longtime Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi resigns
[IsraelTimes] One of the most well-known spokespeople for the Paleostinian cause in the Western press, Ashrawi calls for reform in Paleostine Liberation Organization in her resignation letter.

Senior Paleostine Liberation Organization official Hanan Ashrawi
...age 74, the cultured, Christian Palestinian daughter of one of the founding members of the PLO took the polish and contacts accrued while acquiring a PhD in Medieval Lit. from U of Virginia — among other efforts she was a long-time girlfriend of television anchorman Peter Jennings — to advance the cause of Palestinian nationhood and soften the impact of various terror attacks on Israelis at home and abroad. Mrs. Ashwari was diagnosed with COVID-19 in October, which may have something to do with her apparently sudden decision...
announced on Wednesday that she had submitted her resignation from the pan-Paleostinian organization.

#1  Why the PLO was given power in the first place is something I could never understand. It was an organization that represented refugees and not the people living in Palestine. It was noticeably more corrupt and nasty than what it replaced, which was probably no great shakes.
The refugees so-called have gotten a bad deal not from Israel but from everyone else. Because of the loony UNRWA policies which gave them cradle to grave support presumably for ever, their host countries treated them like dirt, and still do. And the rich Persian Gulf countries got rid of them after they attempted to take over Kuwait. But the PLO cannot make peace without doing something for the refugees, and nobody knows what can be done for the refugees,

#2  Because of the loony UNRWA policies which gave them cradle to grave support presumably for ever, their host countries treated them like dirt, and still do.

The Arab host countries would have treated them like dirt anyway, daniel. The refugees were not related to anyone in the host country, so they had, and still have, no value except as propaganda.

#3  If the refugees were just allowed to become citizens wherever they happen to be, they would be no more trouble than any other sub-population in the Arab world. The problem is that they are required by the world to accept nothing less than full ownership of a Judenfrei Israel, which of course the Jews will never accept.

The PLO was given power because A) the world required it, and B) otherwise there was no one to negotiate with except the village headmen.

Israel to start testing Palestinian workers for COVID-19 at checkpoints
A perfect opportunity to take DNA samples as well, a thought I’m sure never occurred to the Israeli authorities.
[IsraelTimes] Israel’s military liaison to the Paleostinians announces that it will begin testing Paleostinian workers entering Israel at checkpoints.

"A worker who refuses to be checked will not be permitted to enter Israel," a spokesperson for the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories says.

It was unclear how many workers would be checked as part of the new policy and whether COGAT would allow them to be tested elsewhere. On COGAT’s Arabic-language Facebook page, social media users bemoaned the lack of clarity, with one user writing "someone please translate, COGAT, we’ve stopped understanding you, dude."

A spokesperson for COGAT declines a request to elaborate.

Approximately 100,000 West Bank Paleostinians are legally employed in Israel or in West Bank settlements, according to the labor rights group Kav LaOved.

Both Israeli and Paleostinian officials have repeatedly pointed fingers at the other side to accuse them of importing coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

Syria War Deaths Reach 387,000 in Slowest Annual Increase
[AnNahar] The overall corpse count for Syria's civil war has crept up to 387,000 following the least deadly of 10 years of conflict, a monitor said Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a wide network of sources inside Syria, said the new figure included almost 117,000 civilians, among them more than 22,000 children.

The Observatory's previous tally was issued in January and stood at more than 380,000.

The fighting, which erupted in 2011 after the brutal repression of anti-government protests, has largely abated this year as a ceasefire held in northwestern Syria and attention turned to containing the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic.

The latest toll included more than 130,500 pro-government fighters, among them foreigners.

More than half of those were Syrian soldiers, while 1,703 were from the Lebanese Shiite group Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
whose members have been fighting in Syria since 2013.

The conflict has claimed the lives of more than 57,000 non-jihadist rebel fighters.

It has also killed more than 67,500 jihadists, mainly from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS), a group dominated by ex-members of Syria's former al-Qaeda affiliate.

More than 12,500 Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces fighters have been killed in battles against IS and Ottoman Turkish forces.

The Observatory's toll does not include some 88,000 people it says died of torture in government-run prisons, nor thousands who were kidnapped during the conflict and are still missing.

After turning the tide of the war with Russian and Iranian support since 2015, the Syrian government now controls around two-thirds of the country.

Among the regions still beyond its reach are the last rebel enclave of Idlib in the northwest, Ottoman Turkish-held areas along the northern border, and northeastern parts of the country held by US-backed Kurdish forces.

The war has forced more than half the country's pre-war population to flee their homes.

Some 6.7 million Syrians remained displaced inside the country, while 5.5 million are registered as refugees abroad, according to the United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...

Pentagon plans to cut most of its support to CIA's counterterrorism missions
[ABC] In a surprising move, the Pentagon has told the Central Intelligence Agency that it plans to end the majority of the military support it provides to the agency's counterterrorism missions by Jan. 5, according to a former senior administration intelligence official.

It is unclear how the decision would impact the spy agency's worldwide counterterrorism missions that often rely on the U.S. military for logistical support and personnel.

Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller sent a letter to CIA Director Gina Haspel outlining the decision, according to the former official, who characterized the action as both surprising and unprecedented.

The CIA's Special Activities Center carries out covert operations and has its own paramilitary force that carries out counterterrorism operations. While they act as an independent force, they often rely on the military for transportation and logistical support.

Sometimes that means that military personnel end up being detailed to support the CIA's counterterrorism operations.

#2  While we're on the topic of the Pentagon, I received this from a former colleague:

I was clicking around on the internet and ran on a picture of GEN Lloyd Austin. Saw he wears a Silver Star. Interesting. I got to wondering if he charged a machinegun position or something similar, back when he as a 2LT. Something heroic, you know? The Silver Star - pretty heady stuff.

A little more clicking around and I came on this:

"Austin became the one-star assistant commander for maneuver of the 3rd Infantry Division, of Fort Stewart, Ga., two months before the 9/11 terrorist attacks and played a key role in the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

The division participated in “Thunder Run” strikes on Baghdad, in which infantrymen and tanks launched rapid operations. The city fell quickly, and Austin received a Silver Star — two steps down from the Medal of Honor in recognizing valor in combat — for his actions."

He was a BG at the time! A BG! No citation that I could find either. How many BG's go around charging the enemy in combat? Almost NONE I would say. Phoney POS.

#5  I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, some remfs abuse the machinery for their own purposes, sometimes even profiting off CIA side-businesses [which may be necessary]; and then there's the security cover for your line guys, their assets and informers. The farm boys will never be hard pressed for muscle or logistics, they will just hire blackwater types and hand the bill to the taxpayer. This separation of the two arms is not necessary is it? Maybe I'm wrong.

#6  When my gummint ended military support to our external assets in '96, they effectively demoted us from influence projection to just intelligence. One result was Kargil. The only beneficiary was the ISI. An intelligence bureaucracy began to proliferate around the secret funds and means available, without delivering much in return. It wasn't until 2014 that the synergy was again reached. This time the agencies were detailed to work for the military, as should be.

#13  The CIA has links with the State Department. Every embassy usually has a CIA attache. If the CIA is a part of the Deepstate, then maybe these linkages should have some oversight. Off-book black funding should have some controls and oversight. Don't get me wrong, there is a role for the spook agency in intelligence. However, there do seem to have been abuses of power within the agency under Brennan and others in the past.

#14  Ref #13: I'll attempt to provide some 'according to me' perspective:

If China wants to penetrate a certain market in the US or elsewhere, but does not have the technology, they mobilize their intelligence services (Ministry of State Security or MSS) to penetrate and pirate the needed data. If China is prohibited from penetrating numerous US markets, they will support or assist a regime change within the US. The Chinese oligarchy, call it Deep State if you will, is ultimately in charge and directs the action. Their MSS is simply the action arm.

To one degree or another, the same methodology and relationships are in play with our Deep State and intelligence services, both overseas and domestically.

If the goals of both the Chinese and US oligarchies are simpatico or running parallel, the dynamics of change occur much more rapidly. One is simply Asian, the other western. The dual objectives of power and wealth are shared.
