Kabul police rejects rumors regarding the discovery of mass grave
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Kabul police officials have rejected the rumors regarding the discovery of a mass grave as the reports have caused panic among some residents of the capital.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials said reports and rumors circulate on social media sites suggesting that a mass grave has been discovered in capital Kabul.

The officials further added that such reports are not true and are baseless as no mass grave has been found in the capital.

Reports regarding the discovery of a mass grave in Kabul emerge as similar graves have been found in the capital and other parts of the country in the past.

Such graves normally contain the victims who were killed during the civil war although mass graves of the victims of terror groups have also been found during the recent months and years.

Zintan delegation visits Misrata for reconciliation talks
[Libya Observer] A delegation from the municipal council, military council and high council of elders in Zintan city arrived Thursday in Misrata for reconciliation talks.

The delegation, which included more than 170 figures, held talks with the Misratan counterpart for establishing reconciliation to end the conflict between the two cities.

The two cities signed a reconciliation charter to show unity and reject separation of the country.

The charter called for perseveration of the constants of February 17 revolution, stressing the need for civilian power and reject military coups in Libya.

It also expressed support for an inclusive all-Libyan dialogue inside the country without any foreign interference.

"Misrata and Zintan meeting today is the first step in the path of inclusive reconciliation." Chief of Misrata Military Council Ibrahim Bin Rajab said after the meeting.

In March, a Misrata delegation paid a visit to Zinatn and held talks aimed to reach agreement on settling down the conflict between the two cities and turning a new leaf for the benefit of the country.

Libya warlord Haftar back in Benghazi after murky health-care leave
[Libya Observer] The commander of the self-styled army in eastern Libya, Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all...
, has arrived in Benina airport in Benghazi this evening after about 20 days of treatment in Gay Paree.

Haftar's arrival was celebrated by members of House of Representatives, his Dignity Operation military formations, elders and others from the eastern region: mainly those from tribes loyal to his self-styled army.

"We are going to continue to do our best to win the battle for Libya. Now our army has been ranked 9th on the African countries' list. We all should be proud." Haftar told his loyalist in a ceremonial hall in Benina airport.

He added that it's time for the military to carry out the mission, telling his loyalists to keep away from elections as they could be "a scheme."

"Elections might be right, but they might be a scheme too, so we need the army to call the shots." He added.

Over the last twenty days, media reports brought in hundreds of news stories of conflicting news about Haftar's health ranging from he had a stroke to he had an irreversible brain damage, with little details given by his aides to squash allegations.

Two ISIS Women Land in Germany after Release from Iraqi Prisons
[AAWSAT] Two German ISIS women with their three children have arrived in Frankfurt, after being held in a prison in the Kurdish capital Erbil.

German newspaper Die Welt cited in its Friday issue reliable security circles, that the two ISIS women arrived at the Frankfurt International Airport a day earlier.

German authorities allowed the two women to take their children after undergoing a DNA screening to prove maternity, the newspaper said.

The two women and their young children were transported to Germany on an Iraqi Airways flight, and were accompanied by Germany’s Federal Criminal Police. They are expected to be referred to special guidance committees.

Die Welt sources confirmed that the two women were released and that the Federal Public Prosecution failed to obtain an arrest warrant against them.

However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
the Supreme Court authorized federal police to search and interrogate the two women upon arrival in Frankfurt.

Last year, Germany’s Attorney General Peter Frank confirmed that he had zero tolerance policy against German ISIS members who had voluntarily joined the terrorist organizations and then returned from combat zones in Syria and Iraq.

However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken...
the Federal Court rejected their request for detention because there were insufficient evidence of their support for the terrorist organization.

The court distinguishes between male combat duties in ISIS and the duties of others who join but conduct activity limited to childcare and housekeeping. It considers that German penal laws do not apply to such activity.

Frank challenged the court's decision in January, but federal court judges have not yet ruled on the case until the arrival of the two women to Germany.

According to Die Welt’s report, there are over 80 Germans who are currently imprisoned in northern Syria and Iraq. Women prisoners have many children, some of whom were born in the war-torn countries and in captivity.

So far 10 children have been repatriated to Germany after undergoing DNA analyses to prove their links to the German so-called "jihadi" women detained abroad.

‘Members of banned outfits be kept under surveillance ahead of Ramazan,' say official
[DAWN] A high-level police meeting on Friday reviewed the list of members of banned

organization
s across Sindh and recommended to the home department to put several persons on the Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 so that their activities could be monitored ahead of the holy month of Ramazan.

The meeting was held at an office of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) with Additional IG Dr Sanaullah Abbasi in the chair. It was attended by DIGs of three zones of Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
and other senior officers.

The Fourth Schedule is a list of "proscribed" individuals who are suspected of terrorism or those who are affiliated with organizations suspected to be involved in terrorism or sectarianism.

"We have recommended 15 persons from South, 10 from East and 12 from West districts of Karachi to be kept under surveillance under Section 11EE of the ATA," said Mr Abbasi.

He pointed out that they, for the first time, recommended that the names of members of the organizations banned by the United Nations

The participants of the meeting also decided to meet again next week to discuss names of persons from 18 other districts of Sindh to be put on the Fourth Schedule.

Katz says 'denuclearized' Korean peninsula helpful versus Iran
[Ynet] In interview with Rooters, Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz says Israel has 'a lot of evidence' of connection between Tehran and Pyongyang in development of ballistic missiles; notes he doesn't think Putin will arm Syria with S-300 missiles, 'this is his main card in the discussions with Israel.'

Iraq
Iraqi voters condemn old faces' new election bid
[DAWN] Only a decade after their country's first ever multi-party elections, disenchanted Iraqis say "the same old faces" with their vested interests have been running the show since the fall of dictator Saddam Hussein.

"How long have Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Ayad Allawi, Nuri al-Maliki or Haider al-Abadi been in power? One minute as MPs, the next as ministers," said Midan al-Hamadani, listing Iraq's foreign minister, vice president, ex-prime minister and current premier.

"The parties are always the same and the same people come back to power, whether we like it or not," said the 40-year-old Baghdad resident.

Widespread corruption combined with failings in basic services such as water, electricity and transportation have reinforced the public's lack of faith in Iraq's politicians.

In a country with a long history of conflict and intercommunal violence, more than 24 million Iraqis are registered to elect 320 deputies from a field of around 7,000 candidates on May 12, with 71 seats reserved for the capital.

Iraq’s Muthanna clears 20mn Sq m from landmines
Muthanna (IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s province of Muthanna has cleared 20 million square meters of land from landmines, the province’s demining official was quoted saying on Saturday.

Hazem Habban told al-Hayat newspaper that the demining directorate has managed to purge nearly 20 million square meters from landmines and unwent kaboom! ordnance, and reached to strategic oil sites between the province and Dhi Qar.

The petroleum site is managed by Russian Lukoil company, Habban clarified. The government resorted to the local demining directorate instead of specialized firms, thus saving more than USD20 million, as he put it.

According to Habban, Muthanna is Iraq’s second in terms of the extent of contamination with explosive ordnance, coming after Basra and followed by Maysan and Dhi Qar.

Last February, the Iraqi parliament’s economy and investment committee ordered to halt contracting specialized demining firms over corruption suspicions, having found that contracts had been signed for already clean territories.

The United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
said in February it had cleared more than 45.000 explosive ordnance from all over Iraq, and that the continuation of purging efforts could need at least a decade.

since 2014 has left Iraqi soil contaminated with thousands of tons of unwent kaboom! ordnance and booby-traps. Leftover explosives have occasionally went kaboom!, killing several civilians since Iraqi authorities declared victory over the turban group last year.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian protesters are being shot in their legs by Israeli soldiers, and some face amputation

Weepy story about accurate fire from IDF snipers. Play stupid games, win stoopid prizes. Maybe they should go for head shots, WaPo?
If they shot them in their heads they wouldn't require amputation, would they? Some people are never happy.
[Jeff Bezos' WaPo] Mohammad "Peg" al-Ajouri is a lanky teenager who loves loved to run, a medal-winning track star with ambitions to compete abroad.

But last month, while participating in a protest along Gaza's border, he was struck by a bullet fired by an Israeli soldier. It penetrated his calf, shattering his leg before exiting the shin. Doctors tried to save the limb, but an infection soon spread. The leg had to be amputated.

During the past month of demonstrations along the border between Gaza and Israel, at least 17 Palestinians have suffered gunshot wounds that ultimately cost them their legs, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza.

In at least three of the cases, Israeli authorities rejected the transfer of wounded Gazans to the West Bank, where they could receive medical care that might have saved their limbs, according to lawyers and one of the patients' families.

Since the protests began, Israeli troops have killed 43 Palestinians and wounded more than 3,500 with live ammunition, rubber bullets or shrapnel, the Health Ministry said. Of those, about 2,200 have suffered injuries to the legs.

Israeli officials say the protests along the border fence are violent and provide cover for militant attacks. Israeli media report that troops have been ordered to initially fire warning shots at demonstrators, after which they should target protesters' legs.

"IDF troops act according to clear rules of engagement that are tailored to the scenarios they are contending with," a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces said. The spokesman declined to detail those rules but said live fire is a last resort.

Gaza is about to explode, warns UN official
He mispronounced implode. Exploding requires expansion, which neither Israel nor Egypt will permit.
[DAWN] "Gazoo is about to explode," a senior United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
official warned on Thursday amid a spike in festivities on the border with Israel over the past week.
Maybe Israel should just give it back to the Paleostinians as a gesture of good faith... Oh wait. Never mind.
"Old wounds continue to bleed and deepen as we speak, risking an outbreak of another war," Nikolay Mladenov, the UN’s Special Coordinator for the Middle East, told the Security Council during an open debate on the crisis.

While his briefing covered the situations in Syria, Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic...
and Leb, it was largely focused on the unfolding crisis along the Gazoo fence, which is at the tiny enclave’s border with Israel.

Since March 30, 35 Paleostinians have been killed and large numbers injured by Israeli security forces. No Israeli casualties have been reported, the UN official added.

He urged Israel to reduce the use of live fire and called on Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,, which governs the enclave, and the leaders of the demonstrations to keep protesters away from the Gazoo fence.

The combination of the security, development and humanitarian deterioration, coupled with the political impasse, makes Gazoo "a powder keg," Mr Mladenov said, calling for action to prevent another war in the enclave. Gazoo Strip was shaken by seven weeks of festivities in the summer of 2014 between Israeli forces and Paleostinians.

If you shoot the monkey in the head you run out of monkeys. The point is to score for both legs ...eventually...that is...if they keep coming back. The only time you can score is when you hit a monkey in the leg. The only valid head shot allowed for a score is when your monkeys ALL have no legs...THEN you can score by shooting them in the head...but not before.

IS Suspects Stand Trial for Iran Attacks

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group went on trial in Iran on Saturday over attacks last year on parliament and the tomb of revolutionary leader Ruhollah Khomeini, local media reported.

Seventeen people were killed and dozens injured in the simultaneous attacks in Tehran on June 7 -- the first claimed by IS inside Iran.

The judiciary-linked Mizan news agency said several of the accused were Iranians who had left to join IS in neighbouring countries and returned for the attacks.

Five attackers were killed on the day, but police said at the time that five people had been nabbed
Drop the rod and step away witcher hands up!
at the scenes of the attacks in central and south Tehran.

Dozens more arrests were reported in the following months -- many in operations along the borders with Iraq and The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
There were few details from the first day of the trial, which was held in the presence of the victims' families.

Most of Iran's population is Shiite, and therefore considered heretics by the Sunni jihadists of IS, who have increasingly called for attacks on the country.

Iran has also supported the governments of Iraq and Syria against IS and other jihadist bad boys.
