Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief November 27, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • CABINET RESHUFFLE REPORTED – The Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir is once again said to be stepping down due to an illness. The current Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi will assume the role in the interim. It was not clear if Muttaqi would be replaced at the Foreign Ministry or fulfill the duties of both positions. Kabir has reputedly fallen ill on at least two other occasions and a temporary Deputy was appointed in his place. Some sources allege that Kabir is not ill but has harbored resentment over his position since the Cabinet was formed.

  • TALIBAN OFFICIALS IN HERAT CLAIM IRAN DEPORTING AFGHANS WITH VALID PASSPORTS AND LEGITIMATE VISAS – The local head of Immigration in Herat said that many recent deportees had been returned through the Islam Qala crossing bearing valid documentation issued by Iran. Most expressed outrage over having been arrested and deported ‘violently’ by Iranian security forces. Most reports indicate that Iran has increased deportations of Afghans by 100% over the month of November. Speculation continues that Iran is using the cover of Pakistan’s largely unpopular deportation operation to get rid of Afghans.

  • NRF CLAIMS RESPONSIBILITY FOR SATURDAY ATTACK IN TAKHAR – The National Resistance Front took credit for a blast that had been reported in Talaqan on Saturday. The group said that 3 Taliban were killed in the incident and that their forces had used an explosive device to target a Taliban vehicle.

  • SPIN BOLDAK PROTESTS CONTINUING – Islamabad has yet to find a solution to the protests that continue to block commercial traffic at the Spin Boldak-Chaman border crossing. Trade is reportedly at a standstill as Pakistanis continue to deny access to the crossing for trucks and other commercial vehicles to cross into Afghanistan. The impasse arose over the implementation of the ‘One Document Policy’ that only affords those with a passport/visa to cross the frontier. Local traders say that the crossing has always been treated as an ‘open border’ and that generations have moved freely across to buy/sell goods. The Government in Islamabad has countered that the border crossing has been used for smuggling purposes and seems content to allow it to remain closed. Many international observers in Pakistan have offered the opinion that Islamabad failed to make a strong case for security when implementing the policy and this has contributed to much of the frustration.

CONFLICT TRACKER

Laghman: The AFF claims ro have assassinated 2 Taliban intelligence officials yesterday in the Daulat Shah district. The two stood accused of murdering former members of the Afghan military.

Panjshir: An internal clash between a Taliban district governor and a local Taliban commander took place on Saturday in the Dara district. The governor and a commander reportedly got into a fight. The commander was injured. Locals said the Taliban then disarmed the governor’s security detachment.

NEXT 24 HOURS: No Threats Reported

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • DEPORTATIONS HALTED AT TORKHAM ON FRIDAY, TALIBAN FORCE THE HALT – In a move that has befuddled policymakers in Islamabad, the Taliban refused to accept people being deported from Pakistan by mandating they all must be cleared by the Consul General in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A source in Islamabad said the maneuver caught members of the Foreign Ministry by surprise and that a special team had been assembled to examine the legality of the Taliban’s new rule. The Taliban’s main contention for invoking the screening is that many Pakistani citizens have been found among the Afghans who have so far been deported back to Afghanistan. A human rights lawyer in Islamabad said the maneuver was ‘brilliant’ on the part of the Taliban and offered the opinion the rule would be hard to argue as Pakistan had used similar arguments in a previous case involving Afghans in the early 2000s. Eyewitnesses say that no deportees were sent through Torkham on Friday as a result and that trucks carrying those who faced expulsion were left at the border to try again today.

  • TALIBAN MINISTRY HIT BY NEW CYBER-ATTACK – An unidentified Ministry in Afghanistan fell victim to the ‘HrServ’ attack. Analysts say the attack inserted the web shell into the Ministry’s server and that the HrServ is a weaponized malware that can allow hackers to steal data, monitor servers, and perform limited functions across the server. The hack is being characterized as an Advanced Persistent Attack (APA). The web shell is capable of launching a file that erases any trail it may leave. Analysts say those responsible for the hack are likely not native English speakers due to the high number of typos in the source code. Ultimately, it is believed those behind HrServ were planning a financial crime of some sort.

  • RETIRED INDIAN AMBASSADOR SAYS HIS COUNTRY IS ON THE VERGE OF RECOGNIZING THE TALIBAN – Talmiz Ahmad, a retired Indian senior diplomat said that the recent circus that has played out in the Afghan Embassy in New Delhi is a sign his government intends to begin bilateral relations with the defacto leaders in Kabul. Ahmad characterizes the step as ‘inevitable’ and is hopeful that bilateral relations would result in favorable trade agreements and the potential for discussions about the Taliban’s internal policies.

  • PAKISTAN’S SUPREME COURT TO HEAR CASE AGAINST FORCED DEPORTATIONS ON 1 DECEMBER – After a possible politically motivated delay, the Supreme Court said it would constitute a three-member bench to hear the plea on behalf of Afghans who were born in Pakistan and are considered to be ‘birthright citizens’ under Section 4 of the Citizenship Act (1951). If the plea is affirmed by the Supreme Court, it could potentially provide a legal basis for halting the deportations as the plaintiffs argue illustrates the Government of Pakistan’s inability to differentiate between those considered lawful ‘birthright citizens’ and those deemed ‘illegal migrants’. Political analysts say that even if the Supreme Court accepts the plea, it is unlikely to halt deportations but could provide ammunition to the international community to bring more pressure to bear on Islamabad over the universally condemned policy.

  • BADAKHSHAN HEADACHES CONTINUE FOR TALIBAN – Reports of a widening rift continue to come in from Badakhshan Province. The most recent indicates that the District Governor is thought to have ordered the transfer of both heavy and light weapons to Kandahar. A senior Taliban official, Qari Fasihuddin, was asked to postpone a trip to the restive Province by senior agents from the GDI. A source in Kabul said that senior leaders are recommending a ‘stronger hand’ is needed to lead the Province.

CONFLICT TRACKER

Takhar: A blast was reported by locals in the downtown area of Talaqan. Multiple sources said the blast targeted a Taliban truck and that 1 Talib was killed and two were wounded in the blast. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Parwan: Multiple reports confirmed that an attack if some sort was launched at a district administration building in the Bagram district. Eyewitnesses said the building came under attack from rocket fire before midnight on Saturday, and the attack continued for nearly thirty minutes. Casualties were reported, but the number and type has not been provided.

NEXT 24 HOURS

POSSIBLE DEPLOYMENT OF TALIBAN TO BADAKHSHAN – Several sources in both Kabul and Kandahar say that a warning order has been issued to select units of the Ministry of Defense to prepare for a deployment to the Province. It is not clear what the reinforcements will be used for upon arrival but many are speculating that local leaders will likely be arrested and an effort to reign in members of the Eastern Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) could occur. At-risk Afghans in Badakhshan (especially Faizabad) should be aware of the possible deployment. Conflict could easily ensue as the Taliban appear to be nervous over a potential ‘breakaway’ Province situation. China has previously expressed concerns over the activity of ETIM in the Province and is rumored to have shared several intercepted messages with Kabul over the past year.

Daily Evacuation Brief | November 25, 2023

[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • NEW UPDATES FROM BADAKHSHAN TALIBAN ISSUES – Hasht-Sub Daily reports that a former Commander of the GDI in the Province was arrested by a special Taliban security detachment sent from Kabul. The former Commander was arrested in Faizabad on Friday and has been transferred to Kabul. Rumi Nooralhuda faces charges of corruption and mistreatment of civilians and may be implicated in the mysterious killing of 4 Taliban fighters earlier in the Province. Nooralhuda is said to be related to Mawlawi Fasihuddin Fetrat, a leader in the Taliban Ministry of Defense.

  • UNITED NATIONS TO INVESTIGATE RECENT KILLING OF SHIITE SCHOLARS IN HERAT – A brazen daylight assassination of 2 Shiite Islamic scholars in Herat City has prompted the Special Rapporteur for Afghanistan, Richard Bennett to open an inquiry into the matter. In a tweet, Bennett urged the Taliban to accept an independent investigation into the killings, and sources in Kandahar say that Taliban officials are unlikely to accept the advice as there are concerns that a local Taliban Commander (unnamed) may have been involved.

  • TALIBAN OFFICIALS IN KABUL THREATEN SHOP OWNERS TO ADOPT PASHTO OR FACE CLOSURE – The threat was communicated during a televised interview with an unidentified Taliban official in central Kabul. The threat supports claims made by members of minority groups within Afghanistan for the past two years that say their cultures are under threat by the Pashtun-dominated Taliban. The Taliban have continually pushed back against such claims but few can ignore the lack of political representation from minorities in the senior Taliban ranks.

  • MORE DIPLOMATIC DRAMA IN INDIA – Diplomatic staff at the besieged Afghan Embassy in New Delhi released several statements on social media that claimed the Embassy was to be closed and no further services were to be provided to Afghan citizens residing in the country. Shortly after the posts began to circulate on various social media platforms, 2 officials from the staff said that the Embassy would continue to operate. One of those mentioned is said to be a consular officer appointed by the previous regime but who has agreed to work with the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry in Kabul. The Government of India has wisely stayed out of the squabble and it is not yet clear if they will accept the credentials of the new ‘Taliban’ affiliated diplomats.

  • RESISTANCE ATTACKS GAIN MOMENTUM – Fighters from the Afghanistan Freedom Front have launched several operations over the month of November and appear to be carrying the brunt of the fighting against the Taliban in the months leading up to Winter. Yesterday witnessed three separate military engagements against the Taliban, two of which have been confirmed. The attacks follow several others that were ultimately confirmed throughout the month of November. While the National Resistance Front is generally considered the main military opponent for the Taliban, the AFF has clearly stepped up operations when most campaigning is tapering off for the Winter. Local sources within the Resistance say this is primarily due to a spike in recruitment that began in late 2022 and that the group is primarily located within Kabul and a select few other cities while the NRF is considered the ‘Northern Front’ and is based mainly in Takhar and Panjshir. Many have long thought that the majority of the legitimate Resistance groups began coordinating operations at the end of 2022. This has not been confirmed but the frequency and locations of attacks over the course of 2023 suggest that some communication is taking place. Many in Afghanistan have characterized the AFF fighters as sort of a ‘Robin Hood’ movement that locals can turn to in dealing with particularly heavy-handed or corrupt Taliban in their neighborhoods. The AFF’s operational strategy has been to launch lightning attacks on vulnerable Taliban positions. While the NRF was involved in heavier campaigns against the Taliban in 2022. Throughout 2023, the NRF has played a more defensive role and has largely avoided major engagements like those witnessed in the previous year. Whether this is a coordinated strategy between the two groups is unknown but it has resulted in constant pressure on the Taliban and has served to illustrate to regional and international observers that the Resistance is far from pacified.

CONFLICT TRACKER

Kabul: An operation by fighters from the AFF took place yesterday evening, targeting a Taliban position in the Gulkhane area (6th Police District). 2 Talibs were killed and 3 others wounded in the operation.

Kabul: An AFF force launched an attack earlier against the Taliban garrison of Toli Muzab (5th Police District), which left 4 Taliban member dead and 3 wounded in the attack. Sources say the attack was ordered after citizens complained the garrison was responsible for searches that were focused on stealing citizens’ property.
Parwan: Fighters from the AFF reportedly struck a Taliban security checkpoint near the Padeh Khab Bridge in the Bagram district. 3 Talibs were said to have been killed and 2 others wounded in the attack.

NEXT 24 HOURS

POSSIBLE TALIBAN SECURITY OPERATIONS IN KABUL – After two successful attacks by Resistance forces in Kabul and a third unconfirmed attack in Parwan, our analysis indicates it is likely the Taliban will be forced to respond and may launch a search operation to attempt to ferret out the location of Afghanistan Freedom Front operating bases. Sources in Kabul say that local Taliban Commanders have been voicing frustration with the Ministry of the Interior’s inability to gain intelligence on the AFF for the past two months. With this in mind, increased security operations are possible in Kabul and potentially elsewhere across the country. Sources say that very little information is known about the AFF and that some are suspicious it is receiving intelligence from within the Taliban that has allowed it to elude detection. At the very least, the Taliban will likely increase patrols in order to restore confidence among its fighters who are manning checkpoints and outposts that it is at least doing something to contain the AFF.

At least 10 Taliban members killed in attacks, Front Freedom claims
[AMUtv] The Freedom Front, an anti-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
military movement, claimed it conducted four attacks attacks on Taliban targets on Friday. The front said that at least 10 Taliban members were killed and nine were maimed.

The assaults occurred in Kabul, Parwan, and Takhar provinces. Early Friday, fighters attacked a Taliban checkpoint in Parwan’s Bagram district, killing three and wounding two, the group reported.

In Kabul’s Kote Sangi area Friday evening, another attack left four Taliban dead, including a commander, and three maimed. The Front also cited an attack in Kabul’s Dasht-e-Barchi, claiming two Taliban deaths and three injuries.

Furthermore, the front asserted a Taliban commander’s death on the Taloqan-Kunduz route, with another individual injured.

Contradicting these claims, the Taliban acknowledged only the Kote Sangi incident, attributing the blast to a hand grenade on a water reservoir by unknown men. Kabul’s Taliban security spokesperson, Khalid Zadran, insisted no one was harmed.

At least 1 killed, houses torched by al-Shabab militants in coastal Kenya
[ShabelleMedia] At least one person was killed and several houses were burnt in a raid on two villages in Kenya’s coastal Lamu county, a government official confirmed on Sunday.

Lamu County Commissioner Louis Rono said heavily armed assailants raided Marafa and Poromoko villages at around 9 p.m. on Saturday and set several houses ablaze.

According to Rono, the police launched a manhunt for the assailants, adding that the attackers escaped the scene.

"No arrests have been made but the manhunt for those behind the incident is underway," Rono said.

In Marafa village, the attackers torched four houses and beheaded a 72-year-old man.

According to preliminary findings, the attackers then proceeded to the neighboring village of Poromoko where they torched at least six houses, slaughtered chickens, and stole household items.

The attack which was linked to suspected al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
Death Eaters, comes about three months after a similar one in Lamu West that saw a gateman at a local school killed after a brief abduction.

The police said the security operations have been upped in the area to tame the plans for more attacks in the tourism resort region.

The Lamu region, which includes the popular tourist beach destination Lamu Island, lies close to the Somali border and has suffered frequent attacks in the past, including roadside kabooms and the abduction of foreigners.

Al-Shabaab financier jailed in Somalia
[Garowe] A senior al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
financier has been tossed in the slammer
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
in Somalia, in yet another major milestone in the fight against the holy warriors, who still control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia, but have lately been losing strategic towns to the national army.

Hashi Garad Ali Aalin alias Yahye was sentenced to 10 years in prison having been found liable for leading an extortion ring that was directly responsible for taxing innocent civilians. He was in charge of al-Shabaab finances for the last 10 years.

The convict, who first joined al-Shabaab in 2013, was found guilty of overseeing the finances in several districts within the Mudug and Galgaduud regions. The region has been under al-Shabaab snuffies for quite sometime before the national army took over.

According to reports, Aalin was arrested on July 7 around the Barak Isse area in Mudug in one of the most sophisticated operations in the country. The operation led to the death of one Hashi, following a shootout with the national army, which has been on a charm offensive against the holy warriors.

During prosecution, it emerged that Aalin was getting up to $200 per month as payment for his services of extortion. The government has been fighting the snuffies with the help of US Africa Command and the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS] forces.

Al-Shabaab has lost several strategic towns in the last 12 months, with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud vowing to defeat the group by December 2024. The government also had its request of having ATMIS withdrawal technically paused for a few months to help sustain the fight against the group.

Besides the military operations, the government is also pursuing financiers, leading to the closure of about 250 bank accounts and 70 mobile money transfer firms. The government of Somalia projects that for the better part of 2024, the snuffies would have lost sufficient grounds.

US military detains pirates who attacked a tanker off the coast of Yemen, then Houthis shoot missiles at rescuers
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Follow up to this story from yesterday
[Regnum] The pirates who attacked the Central Park tanker off the coast of Yemen have been detained and questioned by the US military. The crew and cargo on the ship were not damaged. Details of the incident were reported by Fox News.

It has been established that the Central Park tanker, owned by Zodiac Maritime, was transporting phosphoric acid and was captured on November 26 off the coast of Yemen.

Five armed pirate militants captured the tanker, but were unable to reach the crew - the sailors took refuge in a safe room.
Not Houthi, then? Good to know.
The pirates wanted to break down the doors, but were unable to, so they tried to return to the shores of Yemen on their boat.

A US Navy vessel arrived and pursued the attackers, firing warning shots. A US combat helicopter also joined the arrest operation.

“A Japanese destroyer assisted the aircraft carrier USS Mason in the interception. The pirates were detained and interrogated by the US military responsible for combating piracy,” the TV channel reported.

As Regnum reported , unknown persons seized the Central Park tanker in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Yemen. Unknown persons attacked a tanker flying the flag of Liberia and took control of the ship. Zodiac Maritime, the tanker's owner, is part of the Zodiac Group, owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer .

There were 22 crew members on board.

On November 19, Houthi rebels hijacked the Israeli cargo ship Galaxy Leader in the Gulf of Aden. Then it was clarified that at the time of the capture the ship was sailing not far from the coast of the Gulf of Aden.

Before this, the Houthis announced their intention to seize any ships associated with Israel. They also called on other countries to withdraw their crews from them.

US reports missile attack on the destroyer Mason from Yemen
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On the night of November 27, the American destroyer Mason, which responded to a distress signal sent by the tanker Central Park in the Gulf of Aden, came under a missile attack in the Arabian Sea. This was reported by the US Central Command.

Representatives of the US Army clarified that the incident occurred after the arrest of five militants who seized the tanker. According to the US military, two ballistic missiles were fired towards the ship. They flew in from areas of Yemen controlled by the Houthis.

“The missiles fell in the Gulf of Aden about ten nautical miles from the ships. There was no damage or reports of injuries on any of the vessels during this incident,” the department said in a statement on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

As Regnum reported , on November 26, in the Gulf of Aden off the coast of Yemen, pirates attacked the Liberian-flagged tanker Central Park, associated with Israel, and took control of the ship. There were 22 crew members on board - citizens of Turkey, Russia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, India, Georgia and the Philippines. The ship was carrying phosphoric acid.

Zodiac Maritime, the tanker's owner, is part of the Zodiac Group, owned by Israeli billionaire Eyal Ofer.

As Fox News later reported, five armed pirate militants captured the tanker, but were unable to reach the crew - the sailors took refuge in a safe room. The pirates wanted to break down the doors, but were unable to, so they tried to return to the shores of Yemen on their boat.

A US Navy vessel arrived and pursued the attackers, firing warning shots. A US combat helicopter also joined the arrest operation. The aircraft carrier USS Mason was assisted in the interception by a Japanese destroyer. As a result, the pirates were detained and interrogated by the US military. The crew and cargo on the ship were not damaged.

#1  ...This whole thing is a bit...odd. The Somalis, okay - a lot of the old pirate clans have gone merc over the last few years, and they're pretty popular with the Iranians and the Houthis. After all, they don't ask much, they don't eat much, and Lord knows they're as batshiat crazy as anybody you could ask for in that part of the world. It's reasonable that they might have been working for the Houthis - after all, it saves Houthis and throws in a bit of deniability.

Which was promptly thrown out the window when the Houthis lobbed those two IRBMs at the Central Park. The Chinese and the Russians maybe got tech that could do it, the Iranians who built those things not so much. (And it's interesting that Mason was able to hold fire, knowing that the missiles would, well, miss.)

Stay tuned, friends.

Britain
Radicalised Birmingham brothers who prepared to join terrorist group in Afghanistan sentenced

[ITV News] Two radicalised Birmingham brothers who applied to join a terrorist group and planned to travel to Afghanistan to join terror activities, have been given custodial sentences for terrorism offences.

Muhammad Abdul Haleem Heyder Khan, 21, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and four years on license.

Muhammad Hamzah Heyder Khan, 18, was handed an eight year sentence in a youth detention centre, with four years on license.

The brothers made plans to travel to Afghanistan by buying clothes and equipment, obtaining documents and even completing application forms, from the bedroom they shared at St. Josephs Road in Ward End.

When they were arrested on 2 November 2022, they both claimed the bully boy material found on their phones and computers was for 'research purposes' because they were investigative journalists.

The brothers, referred to as Haleem and Hamzah, went on trial earlier this year but ended up pleading guilty to engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorism.

During the trial, Prosecutor Harpeet Sandhu Kc said: "Over the course of 2022 these two brothers became increasingly radicalised and prepared to travel to Afghanistan so they could join in and support terrorist activity. They intended to be part of terrorist organization Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. Khorasan Province (ISKP).
"That organization was recognised by Islamic State as one of its regional branches. It received support and direction from Islamic State's core leadership."

In 2015 ISKP publicly declared its allegiance to Islamic State, which was prescribed as a terrorist organization the previous year.

Mr Sandhu continued: "The defendants had a keen interest in Islamic State activities. They sympathised with Islamic State issues. They intended to become deaders."

Hundreds of files were flagged on the brothers' mobile phones, computers and storage devices. Mr Sandhu said: "The defendants' preparations for joining and supporting terrorist activity included the purchase of clothing and equipment, conducting research into how they might travel to Afghanistan, obtaining documents so they could travel and completing application forms to join Islamic State. Their plans were advanced."

The brothers used messaging app Telegram to share bully boy views and also used browsers designed to hide their search history. Mr Sandhu added: "They discussed preparations for Jihad. There was mutual encouragement."

Security forces recover arms, ammunition, explosives dropped by quadcopter in Jammu

[OneIndia] On Thursday, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Akhnoor sector recovered arms, ammunition, and explosives dropped by a quadcopter along the Line of Control (LoC). The haul included nine grenades and an improvised bomb (IED).

JOINT SEARCH OPERATION
The recovery was made during a joint search operation conducted by the police and the army in the Palanwallah area near the LoC early in the morning. Officials stated that the box containing the arms and ammunition was scanned by a bomb disposal squad before being opened.

IED, PISTOL, AND GRENADES
Upon opening the box, the authorities discovered an IED, a The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

-made pistol, two magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, and nine grenades. The search operation was initiated based on reports of a quadcopter-like noise from troops deployed in the forward areas.

BIGGEST HAUL IN AKHNOOR SECTOR
A defence front man called the discovery one of the biggest hauls of quadcopter-dropped war-like stores in the Akhnoor sector. He suggested that the arms and ammunition were aimed at reviving terrorism in the Rajouri and Akhnoor sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY
An FIR has been registered at the Khour Police Station, and an investigation into the incident has commenced. The authorities are determined to uncover the source of the arms and ammunition and apprehend those responsible for the attempted infiltration.

The recovery of arms, ammunition, and explosives along the LoC underscores the continued threat of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces remain vigilant in their efforts to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace and stability in the region.

For Insulting Prophet Mohammed, Muslim Youth Assaults A Bus Conductor In UP
Sudden Jihad Syndrome. Wandering the landscape with a cleaver is not normal behaviour, after all.
[OneIndia] In a shocking incident, a Moslem youth brutally assaulted a bus conductor for allegedly insulting Prophet Mohammed. The incident occurred in Praygraj in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

The accused is identified as Lareb Hashmi and the victim is Harikesh Vishwakarma who was assaulted with a cleaver over a ticket fare dispute.
”How dare that Untermensch demand I pay as if I were not a member of the Master Religion!”
*Slice* *Chop* *Spurt -spurt*
“Rosebud, damn your eyes...”
Once attacking the conductor, he escaped into a university campus while the bus conductor was rushed to the hospital.

Later, the 20-year-old shared a video in which he is seen justifying his heinous act. "(The bus conductor) was abusing Moslems. So I attacked him with a cleaver. He will not survive. He will be dead soon. From India to La Belle France, whoever insults our Prophet will be exterminated," Hashmi is heard saying in the clip.

"We are ready to die for you and go to jail, O Prophet Muhammad. Dear Moslems, rise about this world's materialism and be ready to sacrifice your life for the Prophet," Lareb Hashmi added.

The individual with Islamist beliefs proclaimed "Allahu Akbar" and recited "La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah" while rationalizing the vicious assault on the Hindu bus conductor.

Upon being alerted about the incident, law enforcement arrived at the college campus. Lareb Hasmi made an effort to flee and even discharged a firearm at the police. In response, the police fired back, injuring him in the leg.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. 's Rajouri district on Wednesday, 16 Corps sources told ANI.

"Troops including Special Forces are deployed in the area after inputs were received about movement of a group of holy warriors in the area. 16 Corps Commander and Rashtriya Rifles' Romeo Force commander are monitoring the operations closely. More details awaited," 16 Corps sources told the news agency.

The encounter broke out between holy warriors and joint forces of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal following a cordon-and-search operation, a police official told PTI.

Local residents said that a cordon-and-search operation has been going on in the area since Sunday to track down holy warriors operating in the area.

"Due to the operation we were asked to stay back at home and not venture out. Our children stayed back at home and did not attend the school," a villager told PTI.

The firing is going on in the forest area close to the village, he said.

Officials said the two holy warriors trapped at the encounter site in Bajimaal appeared to be foreign nationals and had been moving around in the area since Sunday. They even took shelter at a place of worship, they said.

The border districts of Rajouri and Poonch have witnessed increased terrorist incidents over the past one-and-a-half years.

On November 17, a terrorist was killed in an encounter between holy warriors and security forces in the Guller Behrote area of Rajouri district.

On August 7, a terrorist was bumped off as an infiltration attempt from across the border was foiled by the Army in the Degwar area of Poonch district.

Five Army soldiers were killed during an anti-terror operation in the Kesari hills of Rajouri district on May 5.

Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal does not include pro-Iran Iraqi militias: Spox

Hamas is set to release 50 Israeli hostages over the next four days in exchange for 150 Paleostinian prisoners held by Israel.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
How Hamas built a force to attack Israel on 7 October
[BBC] Five armed Palestinian groups joined Hamas in the deadly 7 October attack on Israel after training together in military-style exercises from 2020 onwards, BBC News analysis shows.

The groups carried out joint drills in Gaza which closely resembled the tactics used during the deadly assault - including at a site less than 1km (0.6 miles) from the barrier with Israel - and posted them on social media.

They practised hostage-taking, raiding compounds and breaching Israel's defences during these exercises, the last of which was held just 25 days before the attack.

BBC Arabic and BBC Verify have collated evidence which shows how Hamas brought together Gaza's factions to hone their combat methods - and ultimately execute a raid into Israel which has plunged the region into war.

'A SIGN OF UNITY'
On 29 December 2020, Hamas's overall leader Ismail Haniyeh declared the first of four drills codenamed Strong Pillar a "strong message and a sign of unity" between Gaza's various armed factions.

As the most powerful of Gaza's armed groups, Hamas was the dominant force in a coalition which brought together 10 other Palestinian factions in a war games-style exercise overseen by a "joint operation room".

The structure was set up in 2018 to coordinate Gaza's armed factions under a central command.

US sanctions Iraqi militia over rocket, drone attacks
17-11-2023
[Rudaw] The United States on Friday announced new sanctions on Iraqi militia group Kataib Hezbollah in connection with recent drone and rocket attacks on bases housing US troops in Iraq and Syria.

Six individuals affiliated with Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah were sanctioned by the Treasury Department. The US Department of State also designated Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada and its leader Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Saraji. Washington accused both militias of receiving support from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and involvement in dozens of attacks on American interests in Iraq and Syria since Israel’s war with Paleostinian Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
in the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip.

"Today’s action sends a message to Kata’ib Hizballah and all other Iran-backed groups that the United States will use all available measures to hold to account any opportunistic actors who seek to exploit the situation in Gaza for their own ends," said Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E. Nelson.

Kataib Hezbollah was first designated a terror organization in 2009, accused of attacks on American targets in Iraq.

According to the Pentagon, US forces in Iraq and Syria have come under attack at least 58 times since Hamas’ surprise October 7 assault on Israel that killed 1,200 people and Israel’s retaliatory Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s that have killed more than 11,000, including many children. Most recently, suicide drones targeted Harir airbase in Erbil on Friday morning.

The Islamic Resistance® in Iraq, a network of shadow Iraqi militia groups affiliated with the IRGC, have grabbed credit for the majority of the attacks, saying they are in response to Washington’s support for Israel.

The US has carried out three retaliatory strikes against Iran-backed militia targets in Syria.

The six Kataib Hezbollah-affiliated individuals sanctioned are Imad Naji al-Bahadli, a member of the group’s governing council accused of receiving training with Lebanese Hezbollah,
...even though the two groups are completely unconnected, as they endlessly pronounce...
Habib Hasan Mughamis Darraji, Kataib Hezbollah’s foreign affairs chief accused of coordinating training and smuggling, the group’s main spokesperson Ja’afar al-Husayni, senior military commander Khalid Kadhim Jasim al-Skeni, Basim Mohammad Hasab al-Majidi, executive director of affiliated TV station al-Ittijah, and Mojtaba Jahandust, an official with the IRGC’s Quds Forces who facilitates training of Kataib Hezbollah members in Iran.

#1  This is the results of what $$$ Billions of US Tax Dollars, in aid and Military intervention lives gets the US Taxpayers 20+ years later?

This repeated generation long cycle of failure needs to end now.

Why not just let these 3rd world nations, continue their perpetual wars with themselves? Like they have done there for 2,000+ years?

Then IF they are stupid enough to attack the USA, then Place a $100 Million bounty on their upper level leadership instead of spending $$$ Billions.

Because it seems after a period of US Intervention ranging from 15 to 25 years we always seem to be back where they started despite our efforts and US Personnel lives.

#6  "completely unconnected"

Other than being proxies of, funded and armed by Iran and their Republican Guard. Kataib is organizationally independent, but structurally are part of Iran's global terror network.
