[IsraelNationalNews] IDF Arabic Language Spokesman Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee revealed on Thursday that Hamas recruited a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative to act as a spy within the terror organization.
Don’t tell anyone, but his name is Mohammed. Or possibly it was Abdul…
According to Adraee, Murad Walid Omar Shaheen joined the ranks of Islamic Jihad in 2010, where he served in the counter-espionage department of the organization’s military wing.
In 2022, an operating officer for the Hamas General Security Service, named Taher Mahmoud Tahar Al-Aqqad, recruited Shaheen to work as a spy for Hamas and provide information about Islamic Jihad.
As a double agent, Shaheen provided Hamas with sensitive internal information about Islamic Jihad members, individuals nominated for promotion, and internal tensions within Islamic Jihad. He also provided military information about the organization, which dealt with the geographical deployment of "Al-Quds Brigades" members, and information about how to purchase spy equipment and the reason for stopping the Islamic Jihad’s tunnel-digging work.
During a presentation prepared by the Hamas General Security Service, which was presented to Yahya Al-Sinwar, the members of the agency recounted the method of their spying on Islamic Jihad and their work to influence the internal trends and actions of the organization.
So Israel had the meeting room bugged or someone inside recording? Kinky.
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian report says 20-year-old university student shot by soldiers at checkpoint near Ramallah; military yet to comment on incident
Paleostinian officials said Israeli troops killed a man on Wednesday as festivities broke out after a West Bank march commemorating the Paleostinian "Nakba," or catastrophe, of Israel’s creation in 1948.
"A young man was killed by occupation bullets at the northern entrance of the city of al-Bireh," an Israeli checkpoint at the outskirts of Ramallah, the Paleostinian Authority health ministry said.
The Israeli army did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The PA’s official news agency Wafa said the man killed was 20-year-old Ayser Muhammad Safi, a student at Birzeit University, reporting that he was shot in the neck during a confrontation between a group of young men and Israeli forces.
Witnesses on site told AFP they had seen a group of male students from Birzeit University gather a short distance from the al-Bireh entrance, where they were preparing to begin protesting when Israeli troops moved in.
During the confrontation, Israeli forces fired some kind of gas and sound grenades at the protesters, Wafa reported.
THOUSANDS MARCH
Wednesday’s clash happened shortly after the annual march in Ramallah commemorating the 76th anniversary of what Paleostinians consider the "Nakba," or catastrophe, when around 760,000 Paleostinians fled or were driven from their homes during the War of Independence in 1948, after the UN-proposed division of mandatory Paleostine was rejected by Arabs in Paleostine and Arab states.
Thousands marched across the West Bank, keffiyeh scarves draped across their shoulders.
Israel has also carried out near-daily raids in the West Bank in a bid to thwart terror groups.
Since October 7, troops have arrested some 4,000 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,700 affiliated with Hamas ..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",... . According to the PA’s health ministry, more than 490 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time.

[Jpost] On Wednesday, a friendly fire incident occurred in Jabalya, involving two IDF tanks firing on a forward IDF battalion headquarters, resulting in casualties.
Two IDF tanks killed five IDF soldiers and injured seven more in a friendly fire incident on Wednesday when they fired on a forward IDF battalion headquarters in Jabalya in northern Gaza. The IDF cleared for publication on Thursday.
The tanks were said to be under extreme pressure from dozens of rocket-propelled grenade attacks in the area.
All openings to the tanks, including the canopy on the top, were ordered to be kept closed to avoid any hole or vulnerability to the RPG attacks.
This, in turn, limited the tank's visibility.
IDF TANK INCIDENT
Tank Unit 202 is a Haredi-integrated unit, and the soldiers said that they saw a potential threat emerge from the battalion headquarters, which was only 10-20 meters away from them.
It was unclear why they did not recognize the battalion headquarters. However, the IDF said that the tanks had taken over the junction in Jabalya around 9:00 am and that the Battalion headquarters deputy commander had only arrived many hours later.
The incident itself took place in the early evening on Wednesday.
NAMES OF THE FIVE SOLDIERS KILLED
The IDF released on Thursday the names of the five soldiers who were killed in the friendly fire attack in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday:
Sergeant Roy Beit Yaakov, 22, from Eli, was a combat officer in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.
Sergeant Daniel Chemu, 20, from Tiberias, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.
Sergeant Ilan Cohen, 20, from Karmiel, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.
Staff Sergeant Gilad Arye Boim, 22, from Karnei Shomron, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.
Staff Sergeant Betzlel David Shashuah, 21, from Tel Aviv, was a soldier in Battalion 202, Paratroopers Brigade.

Israeli tanks reached densely populated neighborhoods and narrow alleyways of the bad boy stronghold of Jabalia in the northeast, facing heavy resistance. Residents said the army destroyed clusters of homes there in areas where they had not invaded before.
Gaza's Civil Emergency Service and health ministry said rescue teams have been unable to reach areas where the army was operating to respond to calls for help.

In a video statement, Netanyahu also pushed back against Western criticism of Israel's military operation in the southern Gazook city of Rafah, saying: "The humanitarian catastrophe that was talked about hasn't materialised, nor will it materialise."

[GEO.TV] Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday said he was opposed to Israeli military control or taking responsibility for the governance of the Gazoo

Strip after the ongoing war with Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
How fortunate the final decision is left to his political masters.
"Since October, I have been raising this issue consistently in the cabinet, and have received no response," Gallant said in a televised statement.
Consider yourself heard, and let it go.
"I must reiterate — I will not agree to the establishment of Israeli military rule in Gaza. Israel must not establish civilian rule in Gaza."
When you are prime minister your opinion will be determinative. In the meantime, it is only advisory.
"I call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make a decision and declare that Israel will not establish civilian control over the Gaza strip," Gallant said, calling for a "governing alternative to Hamas" immediately.
Don’t you have a war to run, buddy? Go, get on with it!
"The day after Hamas will only be achieved with Paleostinian entities taking control of Gaza, accompanied by international actors, establishing a governing alternative to Hamas' rule," he said.
"This, above all, is in interest of the State of Israel."

In a briefing with news hounds, US officials involved in the pier project, in which humanitarian aid will be screened and loaded in Cyprus before being offloaded into Gaza, repeated that it would become operational "in the coming days."
"Today we have hundreds of tons of aid ready for delivery and thousands of tons of aid in the pipeline," said Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, deputy commander of US Central Command which operates in the Middle East.
Cooper also warned that the United States would not tolerate attacks on the pier, saying it took the security of service members and humanitarian workers "very seriously".
"This is a 100 per cent humanitarian mission and any attack on those working on it — on this mission — is an attack on aid for the people of Gaza," he said. Yeah! That'll stop Hamas from killing our servicemen!
