Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams Eight Republicans for Joining Democrats in Killing Her Articles of Impeachment Against Mayorkas (VIDEO)
2023-11-14
[Gateway] In a recent development, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed strong criticism towards eight Republican colleagues for siding with Democrats in the House of Representatives.

This contentious moment arose during the vote on Greene’s resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.

The resolution was ultimately diverted from a direct vote to the Homeland Security Committee, effectively stalling the impeachment process.

This move, proposed by Minority Whip Katherine Clark, was supported by eight Republicans, prompting fierce criticism from Rep. Greene.

Among the Republicans who voted with the Democrats were:

  • Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)
  • Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)
  • Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA)
  • Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
  • Rep. John Duarte (R-CA)
  • Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
  • Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-OR)
  • Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH)

In the aftermath of the vote, Congresswoman Greene lashed out in a vehement response, expressing disbelief at her colleagues’ decision to redirect the impeachment process back to committee, a move which will result in the death of the resolution.

#12   ^ So, NoMoreBS, if we deported all the illegal aliens and defunded DHS, think of all the money we'd save!

#9  Strangely, As I inquire further:

    From Politico,
Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) and his estranged wife have settled their acrimonious divorce case, meaning that fellow GOP Rep. Darrell Issa won’t be deposed in the case.

Turner and his wife, Majida Mourad, have been locked in an ugly divorce fight since last May. The couple were married in Dec. 2015. Turner has been seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars from Mourad — a wealthy lobbyist and former congressional aide — as part of a divorce settlement.

POLITICO reported last month that Turner handed Issa a letter from Turner’s attorneys stating they would like to depose the California Republican as part of the case. There had been speculation for months on Capitol Hill about Issa’s alleged role in the breakup of Turner’s marriage, but Issa denied any romantic relationship with Mourad.

Wondering what the DS has on Turner and Issa, and the others....

#8  I too am surprised to see Issa on this list. McClintock as well. Maybe they thought it was a futile gesture since it had no chance in the Senate. It would be better to defund DHS, DOJ, DOE, etc.

#7  My congress critter, Mike Turner, OH, has voted for the new FBI building, despite 80% of all DC building being vacant. As well as against the censure of R. Talib.
He rarely comes to the district. Reelection is nearly safe.
Mike Turner frequently votes with Democrats.

#6  They needed 8. So 8 were found. If they had needed 12, then 12 would have flipped. It is the same as how McConnell organizes the GOP in the Senate. They rotate them so that nobody takes too much heat. It is sort of like prairie dogs on watch poking out of their holes. The most likely organizer remains McCarthy.
