#1  Yeah, so he switched

#2  And it was an enviro-hostile Styrofoam cup at that.
POS pretender.

#3  Could have been this...

#4  Honestly I'm sooo tired of this bastard, I've been this way since 2009, with every passing day he manages to hit a new low, how many days left until he is out of office, January 21, 2017 : 849 Days. Shit that is a long time.

#5  I can't believe the SS has been so sloppy in protecting him.

#6  I can't believe the SS has been so sloppy in protecting him.

Yeah. Whoever stopped him must not have read the memo.

#7  Just when you think this POS can't disrespect the men and the institutions that protect him...

No wonder the secret service let the guy in the white house. The Praetorian guard are getting annoyed.

#8  Obama fatigue.

#9  Has anyone wondered if there is an opportunity here?

We could just stand around and watch. There is a certain inevitability in it all. No need to even look surprised.

#10  Here's how your grandfather might have saluted in Kenya. Give your limp wrist a quarter rotation counter-clockwise and you'll have it Champ. Stand or walk fully erect, no koffee cups, no dagga or cigs in either hand please.
Posted by: Besoeker || 09/24/2014 6:58 Comments || Top||

#11  I remember when I was a boot, some of my fellows would lurk near the Commissary [?], waiting for an officer with both hands full---to salute.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 09/24/2014 7:08 Comments || Top||

#12  Correction to #10. That would be a quarter turn clockwise.
Posted by: Besoeker || 09/24/2014 7:19 Comments || Top||

#13  Jesus Tapdancing Christ. Even worse than Michelle trying to hug Queen Elizabeth. He should really have this down now, after 6 years. The protocol officer must be suicidal.

#14  Well, ya gotta understand the liberal. They prefer our warriors serve coffee and cookies at White House functions. To publicly acknowledge heros with dignity is difficult for them.

#15  I wish the coffee cup had been full.

#16  Remember when I warned you Obama had to be stopped at all costs and you replied it didn't matter that much since Romney was not enough anti-taxes, or pro-gun? Remember when I told you Obama would do everything to weken America dn confort its enemies and you told me America would survive so better him than a Republican not anti-taxes anough, not pro-gun enough?

Now eat sh..t!

#17  At least he could have used a shot of whiskey :). It's not the first time he's done things in poor taste and disrespect.
Posted by: JohnQC || 09/24/2014 11:03 Comments || Top||

#18  You forgot - also to hold umbrellas, Ebbomosh.

One wonders what the Marines and SS have to do inside the white house away from the public eye - perhaps wipe the first ass?
Posted by: CrazyFool || 09/24/2014 11:32 Comments || Top||

#19  This strikes me as one of his less egregious shortcomings. Since he is not and never has been in the military, I would not think a 'proper' salute is required - am I wrong? The gesture with the coffee cup was just his casual acknowledgement of their presence, and likely not intended disrespectfully.
Posted by: Glenmore || 09/24/2014 12:12 Comments || Top||

#20  Another in a long list of disrespecting the military from Chairman Soetoro. He still thinks it's the Marine Corpse.
Posted by: Mugsy Glink || 09/24/2014 12:19 Comments || Top||

#21  Glenmore, civilians are not required to return salutes. Most presidents recently have started returning salutes as an acknowledgment of the Marines presence. He would have been better off doing nothing.
Posted by: Rambler in Virginia || 09/24/2014 12:27 Comments || Top||

#22  Right, Rambler, never attribute to malice that which can be better explained by stupidity.
Posted by: Bobby || 09/24/2014 12:48 Comments || Top||

#23  No class. No respect. No talent.
Posted by: regular joe || 09/24/2014 14:54 Comments || Top||

#24  Bobby, those two are not mutually exclusive.

This obscenity in presidential clothing is both malicious and stupid.

#25  The Galloping Ghost of the Java Toast.

#26  Obama should have NEVER done the salute. He could have cited Kennedy and Eisenhower as examples, and used Eisenhowers own words. He doesn't understand it, and therefore screws it up. He should have done the smart thing and simply opted out.

God forbid you'd ever have me as POTUS [Id be dead within a week, but Oh what a week I would have dismantling reforming the Intelligence Community (Especially CIA and NSA) and firing a lot of people all over the executive branch], but I would NOT return the salute, because I would consider myself a CIVILIAN, not in uniform. I reserve the honor and military tradition for those in uniform and those who served (Yes I am a veteran, but not in my civilian capacity as President, even the role of CinC)
Posted by: OldSpook || 09/24/2014 17:35 Comments || Top||

#27  OldSpook - firing people isn't enough anymore - unless it's out of a cannon. The PC police and gestapo are too deeply entrenched.

I'm beginning to think one would have to start decorating lampposts and streetlights.

Personally I think all this hubbub over the coffee-salute is making a mountain out of a molehill. Obama has done a *lot* worse things to disrespect the men in uniform. This is another distraction.

#28  This crop of govt officials have had no sense of respect of anybody.

I was not in the military, but I understand the historical origins of the salute, including the open palm type salute, as well as the palm down salute used by US military.

Like traveling to another country, it is a good thing to brush up on history, culture, and customs, as it shows respect.

O would never do this. He is a political activist, so he gets a pass, in his mind.

The Hildabeast was one of the worse.

Mexico City, Mexico, Mar 27, 2009 / 04:59 pm (CNA).- During her recent visit to Mexico, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made an unexpected stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and left a bouquet of white flowers “on behalf of the American people,” after asking who painted the famous image.

The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was miraculously imprinted by Mary on the tilma, or cloak, of St. Juan Diego in 1531. The image has numerous unexplainable phenomena, such as the appearance on Mary’s eyes of those present in the room when the tilma was opened and the image’s lack of decay.

Mrs. Clinton was received on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. by the rector of the Basilica, Msgr. Diego Monroy.

Msgr. Monroy took Mrs. Clinton to the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been previously lowered from its usual altar for the occasion.

After observing it for a while, Mrs. Clinton asked “who painted it?” to which Msgr. Monroy responded “God!”

Clinton then told Msgr. Monroy that she had previously visited the old Basilica in 1979, when the new one was still under construction.

After placing a bouquet of white flowers by the image, Mrs. Clinton went to the quemador –the open air area at the Basilica where the faithful light candles- and lit a green candle.

Leaving the basilica half an hour later, Mrs. Clinton told some of the Mexicans gathered outside to greet her, “you have a marvelous virgin!”

This evening Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to receive the highest award given by Planned Parenthood Federation of America -- the Margaret Sanger Award, named for the organization's founder, a noted eugenicist. The award will be presented at a gala event in Houston, Texas.

Some people have no sense of respect or class.
