[IsraelTimes] Turkey could take in some Palestinian security prisoners freed by Israel under the terms of its ceasefire deal with the Hamas terror group, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan says during a visit to Qatar.
Swanning around as if they really were the neo-Ottoman sultanate, actually important on the world scene — and could afford to pay for their pretensions instead of surviving on generous annual donations from the Gulf oil countries. “Our president has declared that we are ready to take in some freed Palestinians… in order to support the agreement. Turkey, along with other countries, will do its part in this regard so the ceasefire agreement can remain in force,” he says at a press conference in Doha.
According to the deal, some inmates are being released abroad rather than to the West Bank or Gaza Strip to pose less of a security threat to Israel.
