Afghan man accused of plotting terror attack linked to ISIS-K: US Officials

[KhaamaPress] Two U.S. officials told NBC News that an Afghan man accused of plotting a terrorist attack on U.S. election day has ties to ISIS-Khorasan.

…previously encountered under the name Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, age 27, resident with his wife and infant daughter in Oklahoma City in a house his father-in-law had bought them, had been a guard for the CIA in Afghanistan when we pulled out. He was admitted to America in September, 2021 on humanitarian parole, subsequently marrying into an Afghan family who’d arrived here in 2018. He and his underage brother-in-law planned on becoming martyrs for ISIS in an Election Day massacre of the Unbelievers, in aid of which Mr. Tawhedi sold the house and their possessions in order to buy some guns from their bestest friend, the FBI informant. He also got one-way airplane tickets back to Afghanistan for the wife and kidlet as well as the mother-in-law and siblings. They were so surprised when they were arrested after handing over the money for the guns and 500 rounds of ammunition, and were arrested instead… admitted to the FBI that he was in contact with a member of the group named Malik.
He was previously named Abdul Malik in our archives. Tohidi was arrested last week in Oklahoma. He had previously worked as a guard for the CIA in Afghanistan.
Court documents show that he entered the United States on a humanitarian visa in September 2021, a month after the fall of Afghanistan’s government.
A senior U.S. government official told NBC News that Tohidi had undergone two security checks before entering the country, and no suspicious information was found.
It appears that after arriving in the U.S., he became involved with ISIS supporters online and gradually aligned with the terrorist group.
Two U.S. officials also said that Tohidi’s mother, who resides in Afghanistan, is suspected of being an ISIS supporter.
Ah hah! Last week, French counter-terrorism prosecutors announced the arrest of a member of Tohidi’s family on charges of plotting a terrorist attack at a football stadium or shopping center in La Belle France.
