Two Sudanese Red Crescent volunteers killed in Sennar State

ese Red Islamic Thingy Society (SRCS) volunteers in the conflict-ridden Sennar.
Since the conflict in Sudan began in mid-April of last year, the Sudanese Red Islamic Thingy has lost six volunteers.
"The IFRC is deeply saddened to confirm the deaths of two SRCS volunteers, Babiker Fadl al-Mawli on July 5, 2024, and Aldow Jaber Ali on July 12, 2024," read a statement released on Wednesday.
Both volunteers were killed in the line of duty in Sennar State, added the international humanitarian network, without providing further details about the circumstances of their deaths.
The IFRC called for the protection of humanitarian workers, stressing that it is both a legal and moral obligation.
The statement urged all parties to respect international humanitarian law and protect aid workers. "The loss of our staff and volunteers is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by humanitarian workers in conflict zones."
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) clashed with the Sudanese army in the southeast state last June and took control of several areas in Sennar.
