Third force must not be invited: Sirajul Haq

The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. chief Sirajul Haq today said that FIR should be registered on Model Town tragedy as per ruling of the court.

He also suggested that the prevailing political stalemate should be resolved through a dialogue process even if it takes 100 days. He said that his party would not support martial law in the current situation.

"We are getting short of time. Political parties should not look towards any 'third force' to intervene," he concluded.
