#1 India has a lot of moonshiners, and relatively few good ones, by most accounts. But, in all fairness, it's the same the world over.

Even in the US, though less frequently these days, there would be some dummy who would distill through a lead soldered car radiator and sicken a bunch of people, so there was always extra emphasis on shutting the bad ones down first.

Practically speaking, today you can get a high quality stainless column still that is both simpler and produces a very high quality product.

#4 Was it methanol contamination? Did they use lead-based pipes? Or did they add contaminants like antifreeze?
