Turkish planes target Kurds in Northern Iraq

Turkeys army said its warplanes targeted Kurdish separatists in northern Iraq on Friday and Saturday, in the biggest Turkish air operation in Iraq this year, the army sources added. Turkish Air force planes, supported by ground weapons, struck PKK targets in an operation on April 25-26, the General Staff said in a statement on its website. A Kurdistan Workers Party spokesman said the bombing had caused no casualties. The Turkish military has carried out a series of air attacks on northern Iraq since the end of its February land offensive into the neighbouring country.
