#1 U.S. conspiracy law requires the suspects to have taken a substantial step toward the commission of their crime. If these guys are tried in U.S. civilian courts, the gov't will have to come up with something more than just gum-flapping. One would think the G-men know that, and wouldn't make arrests until they had some good facts, but we'll see.

On the other hand, it takes a particularly creepy sort of freak to think that mass murder is something to brag about.

#2 When once again, New York gets hit, there will be thousands and thousands of pages of written words of folks pooh-poohing these terrorists' attacks. But, they will continue do it.... and when it happens, they will blame Bush, forgetting their pooh-poohing. I can already write the above the fold headline and story of that attack from their templates. It's so easy.

The media won't stop..... Like Sulzberger of the NYT apologizing for what hadn't happened on the watch of his generation, in his graduating speech at some college... I apologize for Sulzberger and his peers... I apologize that there are still folks of my era that are still living in a forgotten era. How sad for them, that they can't come forward, and greet this new millennium.

Kinda reminds me of being at a wedding rehearsal dinner, ten years after the graduation of the bride and most of the guests. All toasts spoke of the days, of the years of the sorority, and nothing was of any importance except the years of the sorority. Seemed, there wasn't anything of value she and her friends had done since graduating college and the sorority. Life was still existing around the image that had been so carefully crafted.

I apologize for those of my age..... for still living in the world they so carefully crafted. Sadly for them, it isn't working this time. Lots of us aren't pooh-poohing these terrorists' threats, we are taking them seriously.

There will be a day, when we of the fly-over world will be recognized. I volunteer to appear before the next ??? (date to be determined) Commission to bring forth a stake of newspapers, with the written words, pooh-poohing these jihadist brav

#4 Wow, what a relief! Thanks for clearing that up for me, Jim Stewart. We all know how those wacky jihadis can be full of "bravado". What playful scamps!

"senior official" agrees with Mikey

#5  One would think the G-men know that, and wouldn't make arrests until they had some good facts, but we'll see.

The NY Daily News broke the story prematurely. The Feds weren't done building the case -- but they are now, because everyone else in the group is now alerted to the investigation.

#6 C'mon! The Canadians waited for the terrorists to buy explosives. Just because police pre-empted similar conduct doesn't means the NYC Muslims should be less culpable. By the way, I support mandatory execution for all aspects of terror, from advocacy to perpetration. Would that include CAIR leadership, who promote suicide murders in Israel? Hang 'em high!

#7 Hmm...here's a test. Those who are poo-pooing this, get an airliner ticket. Board. Then start talking about the imagined bomb you have. I'm sure you'll get a response. Would the authorities be over reacting? Or have we learned from events, that there are somethings you just don't do.
