A photograph with a prominent drug cartel figure may be behind the Trump administration's refusal to grant a top Mexican politician a visa to enter the United States.

The picture showed Baja California governor Marina del Pilar Ávila hugging Emmanuel 'El Botas' Serrano while she was campaigning for mayor of the border town of Mexicali in 2019.

Serrano allegedly reports directly to Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada, who leads half of the infamously brutal Sinaloa Cartel.

#5 Apart from the drugs and illegal aliens, I am particularly offended by the City of Tijuana dumping raw sewage into the Tijuana River which flows along the border between our country and Mexico. The pollution of our beaches, Imperial Beach and Coronado, is most offensive. Residents of Imperial Beach have been advised to stay indoors as much as possible and get air purifiers because the stench is making them sick. Tijuana is a part of Baja California and, as far as I'm concerned, the governor's inaction on this problem is reason enough to deny her entry into our country. Maybe it's not entirely her responsibility but I'd treat all Mexican officials this way until these problems are solved.
