#2 Turkey never let the 4th ID transit Turkey in the Iraq Attack. Bush didn't have the BALLS to kick them out of NATO then.
They are not our allies NO MATTER what their supporter in STATE or the PENTAGON think.

#5 3dc,above, is correct. We are still based at Incirlik in Turkey, although there is no real need for it. We have 'almost' closed our base down on countless occasions, but inevitably we don't want to hurt the Turks' feelings.
