Too many times we've seen Mr. Anonymous talked with Mr. Nobody in the media which have been a 'news story' under commissioned instruction to try and shoehorn a policy.

We are in "it depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" territory here. And let's not forget that this story has been passed through the Journalism Filter which makes everything more awful than it is.

Traditionally in the ME, getting a conflict over with meant kicking the can far enough down the road that the news cycle died down and everyone could get back to grifting. Having the Gaza war over makes life better for everyone in the neighborhood except Hamas and UNRWA.

Being a successful businessman implies Trump is a practical guy. Solving a problem once and for all is better than letting it fester eternally. Especially if someone else does the heavy lifting.

tl;dr: I interpret this story as Trump to told Netanyahu: Weapons Free!
