That was followed by the Clinton initiative, Brookings, and every other left wing Democrat Party op. The Saudis have wanted to deep six the al-Thani ruling family but the White House (basically the Pentagon) has opposed it.

Qataris got a sttategic win. All they had to do was let US vuild a base. In return they get to spread their mischief. They are smart enough to know the real war is an information war. Win that and your military belongs to them
