There is no such thing as a Sudanese person. There are Fur, Massalit, Hadendowa, Beja, Nuba, Lagu, and a score of other ethnic minorities. When al-Atta talks about the struggle he is talking about his Arab ethnicity which is being moved back into a smaller and smaller part of the Sudan. Without outside support soon, the Arabs will be done.
