#4 Considering the Russian subs are the noisiest ones out there, they don't go anywhere without us knowing and we are back to having our subs shadow them... I doubt they are going to do much other than die in the depths.

#7 You need ships for the purposes of combat sustainment.

You can't move everything by plane that you can by ship.

And you need friendly ports that are defensible.

That all assumes the Russian don't nuke airfields and ports.
