#3 It's the IS-K, killing easy targets to show their power and reach in Afghanistan. Their targets are so far people no one important will miss. Those not terribly important to the Taliban. But they advertise it as surgical, commando missions, top tier assassination, to recruit local adventurers and idiots.

IS-K preach the Taliban are traitors to the cause, simple degenerates who tricked the US into losing instead of actually fighting, and now want to sit and rule just their shithole instead of expanding across Asia. IS-K are mercenary, totally. They'll kill any number of moslems for the right price. Any number. Even their own cadres from another region. But they must make a show of being committed to the great Moslem eschaton, the Caliphate an' all. Pakistani political parties, like the PML(N) contracted them to not only attack Imran Khan's people but Pakistain's own infrastructure, police, etc. We have details of transactions, testimonials.

The PML (N) is now in power. Pakistain wishes to put the pashtuns in their place since they cut Islamabad out of deals with China and refused to obey the Jama'at whip. Do the math.
