#1 Severodonetsk has fallen. Ukrainian troops withdrew this morning.

Lysychansk will fall today or this weekend. More towns outside of Lysychansk have been captured, and a Ukrainian officer tells western journalists that "the order to withdraw from Lysychansk could come at any moment."

Why they decided to make a stand in thee two cities is beyond me. Apparently the little T-shirt guy ignored his general staff recommendation and threw more Ukrainian troops into the kesselschlacht. Who ordered him to do such a stupid thing?

#2 Another kessel/cauldron (or "boiler") has closed -- about 2,000 more Ukrainian regulars, neo-Nazis and foreign soldiers of fortune are trapped in and near Gorsky ("Mountain").
