#1 In strictly dollars and cents, the cost of having children is high until they are on their own.

Bernstein's argument logically should be 'don't have children' but being a hack he won't do that.

#4 I think the economics of abortion has much to do with how much fancier and more expensive pickup trucks are these days (as compared to the 1970's, 80's, etc.) Young adult men now use their disposable income to spend on fancy pickups b/c they don't have children these days. What they one budgeted for their children now gets spent on women who believe in abortion.
