#1 U.S. citizen Allison Fluke-Ekren, 42, was previously apprehended in Syria and turned over to FBI custody on Friday....

Been a 'person of interest' for 8 years and the Syrians simply turned her over to the bureau (no reason given) on Friday. Any costs associated with this handover, meals, Lodging, travel, etc

My tinfoil hat guess (and only a guess), she was a Klingon source discovered by the Syrians, detained, then sold back to the FBI under the pretext of domestic criminal activity.
