Interesting theory, possibly over-analyzed. Suggests a rare level of beltway strategic, long-term financial thinking.

More likely attributed to little more than gross stupidity or diversion from a poor domestic agenda, or a combination of the two. We should know soon.

#5 Putin is playing a game of chess here and Biden is throwing darts at the wall. The only reason this is happening is Biden needs to divert attention from his many failures. Should he poke the bear too much he will squander any possible successful outcome. Then we have the Chinese at our border with Canada and Russia at our border in Mexico. Plus the invasion of single men imported for what cause?. Then our forces weakened in so many ways domestically. Our forces now are changing bed pans and adult diapers. I can hear it now, that's not what I signed up for.

Action against NATO members does not have to mean direct attacks. Between bought politicians, rent-a-mobs, and cyber-attacks they could cause a lot of delays and confusion while maintaining a bit of deniability.

Russian action against NATO goes back to ANTIFA vs Nazis brawling in the streets of Weimar Germany, and continued as a subornation project as soon as NATO was being negotiated post-war.

#12 I'm still betting on Putin being smarter than #FJB, or even any of the evil little people who are pulling #FJBs strings. I still don't believe that Russia will invade.

Oh, and those 7,000 Russian nukes? If Biden and his handlers were smart they'd do everything they could to help Russia so those weapons don't fall into the hands of Chinamen or, worse, Muslims.

Further, after some of Biden's recent gaffes, Zelensky might be thinking he could cut Biden out of the loop and make a better deal with Putin.

#13 If Putin were serious about invading he would have done so a year ago, in a lightning strike, when no one was expecting it. Unlike Pres. Magoo, Putin doesn't telegraph his moves in advance.

#15 OTOH, Ukraine's President Zelensky does NOT think an invasion is imminent -- and told Pres. Magoo so yesterday.

CNN, quoting an unnamed senior Ukrainian official, reports that "the [80-minute] call did not go well... amid disagreements over 'the risk levels.' "

Apparently Magoo-Quixote has convinced himself that the windmills are about to attack -- even though level-headed Sancho Zelensky points out that, well, it's not that simple.

Who shall save the fair Ladonza?
