#1 Could the threat of losing a Gov't contract possibly be an issue ?

#2 Hypothetically saying ....

If you were a privately held family-owned company, located in MEXICO, having P&L issues, due to you know what.

Wouldn't this be great way to reduce overhead and avoid a lot of UE claims and etc.?

#3 Their quality has been going down over the last few years. I have 20-year old Carhartt items that will probably last longer than the products being turned out now.

There are other US made work-wear clothing lines to consider. A lot of our field guys like the 1620 clothing. Really pricey but incredibly rugged.

#4 I take these things seriously. I never really dug Carhartt stuff because a) I don't do the kind of work that calls for those kinds of clothes and b) When I lived in PeeAye it was a fashion statement to some akin to what bikers call "sidewalk commando" dress (all hat and no cattle to you Texans.) I won't buy Levis because of their anti 2A stance. Wranglers are fine for me. I quit buying PepsiCo products when their stupid diversity hire CEO said America gives the rest of the world the finger. Coke lost me with their CRT indoctrination crap. I gave up on pay TV and movie theaters in all forms when it became clear that money was going into the pockets of people who want me disenfranchised and stuck in a camp or killed outright.
I don't need Carhartt stuff and sure don't and won't sport their logo. Yeah, the list of "don't buy" vendors gets bigger every day. So what. It's my dollar, I can take however long as I like to decide how and where to spend it.

#5 /\ Yeah, the list of "don't buy" vendors gets bigger every day.

Yes, the second great betrayal. To his credit, Trump attempted to turn it around.

#6 (IANAL but it seems to me that) The Court only ruled that government may not mandate that companies enforce vaccine requirement. Companies are free to do so on their own.

#8 Its that tired trend of solid niche, to popular, to costume.

Wrangler too. Keen as well; first pair of workboots lasted two years with on insole and one lace replacement, naturally. Last purchased six months in and laces frayed out and sole eroded to the point I was not standing but balancing. Same thing happened to Raichle, rather than owning the hiking boot arena, they moved their ops to China and advertised their brand, and lost the durability needed to be a real hiking boot.

#9 ^ Well, I buy Wrangler jeans. Hey, they wear out. I have a pair of Wolverine steel toes that are downright ancient but still suitable for heavy use. I definitely have less trouble with my all steel Colts and Smith & Wessons than with some newer guns that have MIM parts on board. And don't get me started on how I'd be out a perfectly good Jeep if not for PYP / You-pull-it having a used ABS modulator that Mopar / Stellantis can't be bothered to make anymore. It's all adaptation. I'm a brand loyal kind of guy, but if the brand lets me down, I move on, one way or another.

#10 Meant no offense; just the last pro rodeo ads were a bit much, "What hollywood chic youngster wear when spending the weekend at the stables" flavor rather than "I'm gonna bulldog that sumbitch".

#11 ^ No offense taken. You are making the same point I mentioned, "sidewalk commandos."

#12 Holy Crap!

Apparently all the Covid Karens and Soy Boys are buying up Carhartt beanies and posting online.

-slow clap-
Great move Carhartt. Bunch of day winers and pasty boys who don't look like they could operate a broomstick are now the face of your company.
Brilliant.

Then: Grab your Carhartts, we have work in dirty water all day, and it will be below freezing.

Now: Luuuv the beany..Ohmygawd, its brown, just like my finger!

#13 I've been partial to Eddie Bauer quality. I still wear Levi's (to my shame) but they beat all in quality

#14 M. Murcek I put 3 thermostats in my 2008 Jeep Wrangler in 3 months. All made in China. Couldn't find one made here.
