Why is Russia so traditionalist and conservative culturally when they lived under a Marxist-Leninist government for almost 100 years? Why didn't Marxism totally destroy Russian traditions and culture and replace it with a postmodernist one?

#1 I "like" neither Putin nor Napoleon.

I think a lot of the western liberals who pretend to get emotionally wrapped up in hating Putin while taking his bribes don't really understand Putin, the Russian Revolution, the French Revolution, or Napoleon.

Putin is _just_ the Russian Napoleon for the French Revolution, Russian Edition (tm), No more, no less, and noone in the west is capable of dealing with him one way or another because of all their myths about the French Revolution and their myth that Napoleon was the betrayal of the French Revolution instead of its culmination.

#2 A good comparison would be how Scipio didn't get wrapped up in hating Hannibal. All the big machers in the Senate (i.e. Cato the Elder, etc) were wrapped up in hating Hannibal and Carthage because they couldn't defeat him. Scipio could, and to him it was no big deal.
