#1 There's something rotten in ...Bangkok. The ChiComm vaccines.are.not.working. Frontline healthcare workers are popping positive w/Da Rona AFTER 2 jabs of ChiComVac. Now the stupid Thai govt (totally in bed w/ChiComms) are - how you say - conflicted on what do with 1.5 million doses of Pfizer the USG is donating. They risk embarrassing the PRC if they give it to frontline medical folks as that's admitting ChiComVac is poop. The few rational officials said the Pfizer stuff has to go to the medical people first so they can care for the sick. To say the average Thai person is outraged is an understatement. The PRC has all but forbidden any other vaccine from being administered in Thailand.

#3 FWIW - THA had 3 times as many cases today than JPN with half the population. THA is a hot mess right now.

I was walking the mean streets of Tokyo just a few hours ago after a 14 day quarantine. Looked normal to me as people here wear masks all the time.

#6 It occurs to me that the virus doesn't have to be all that transmissible if you get it from the vaccine. This would explain why places like Laos and Cambodia didn't even have a significant number of cases until the vaccines went around. And why there are now spikes there and also in Vietnam and Thailand.
