#1 I look forward to celebrating, as viewed from London, anti-government terrorists day.

#4 I thought that Independence Day was a rip off of "War of the Worlds."

#7 Hollywood hasn't had a new idea since the invention of "talkies" in 1928...the scripts/stories since then have been recasted, reconfigured, and replayed for each successive generation...consistently devolving into stories for the LoCoDIn (Lowest Common Denomination Intellilect) within the viewing public.
The locodin, whose warped minds then emulate the most despicable material presented in these torrid presentations in real life, are the murders, sex fiends, and miscreants we read about in the news.
This advertisement helps to camouflage INBEV, global owner of Budweiser, for its recent "woke" exploits, and 'plays' you by conning you into believing they support of traditional American values evoked by the 4th of July; What INBEV is suddenly "Not Woke" ?

#10 Omeater, Maybe INBEV thinks Bud is consumed (mostly) by Fly Over types and are trying to pander to their God and Country values. Lord knows the urban types have no love for the flag.

#11 Not gonna drink Buttwiper, but very happy they did this. Now if they made a beer worth drinking I would buy it.

#13 I always thought the movie Independence Day kind of corney.

I saw it in a theater. Everyone cheered when the White House was blown up. My personal fav part was when they disabled the alien ship by installing Windows 95.

#14 The movie was left-wing Hollywood fantasy by a GERMAN hack director trying to strike a blow against American post-Comd War triumphalism.

It was so fucking stupid and ridiculous as to be camp: it even had a screaming dad performance by Harvey Fierstein, some obnoxious white asshole doing a bad Jesse Hackson imitation (!), and everyone's favorite plays-shirt slacker lovable slouch character Bill Pullman as a Clinton POTUS.

Literally everything about it was stupid and phony -- even Pullman's shitty Men's Wearhouse downmarket striped shirts. It even featured a cameo of Saddam, a clip doctored to show him joining forces with Bill Pullman against the pesky galactics.

I have to think Anheuser's got a Woke creative agency that's having fun at America's expense.

Next we'll see Bruce I mean Caitlyn Jenner dressed up as a prancing pink Clydesdale leading a team of 8 purple unicorns

I agree. It was campy sci-fi with stereotypical characters, some silly bits, and great effects. In short, perfect Saturday afternoon entertainment.
