#2 Anyone else worried that Tesla can track you like this? Yes...there are "black boxes" in all cars these days but this takes it to another level.

Whoops ! No Auto-drive Vehicle feature purchased...

Elon Musk ... The Dr. Darwin of the AV World. /snark

Too many of these events have taken place in recent years with tragic results for drivers, passengers, non-AV traffic and innocent pedestrian bystanders.

It is time for this game to be reset, and manufacturers be held liable for failures, in this case a big RED Tesla Screen "No Auto-drive hands-free feature installed"

#5 Should be easy enough to make the car turn itself off if it doesn't sense at least one hand on the wheel actually making driver inputs while the car is moving above anything more than a trot.

#6 Of course, I'd like to see cars that self destruct if they make unsignaled turns.

#8 Sitting on a huge lithium battery does not bode well for keeping a car and people inside non-burnt.

Well, Tesla's black boxes always seem to indicate that Autopilot Is Not At Fault, According To All The Data It Broadcast Just Before The Crash, even though all that's left is a hunk of molten silicon.

In short, you can believe the data being provided by Tesla isn't being pulled out its ass if you want. I don't see any evidence that it's trustworthy, though.

#15 The victims had left a house saying they were going to test the vehicle’s driverless capabilities, a witness told Reuters.

But Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Monday that his data showed the autopilot feature was not enabled and that the owner had in fact not purchased autopilot capabilities.

Sounds really simple to me. Covid
