How about making it a simple Federal Petty Misdemeanor 1 to 6 months or a $100 to $1000 fine?

Because currently 1 joint can carry a sentence of up to 3 years.

Believe it or not :
I know several people with active Top Secret DOD clearances that cannot purchase a firearm, but can still legally own a firearm in their state.

Because of ATF form 4473 line 21C.
Have you ever been convicted in any court,.... of a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could have imprisoned you for more than one year, even if you received a shorter sentence including probation?
