Oh, in a heart beat. The second militia act of 1792 directed the free citizens to arm themselves with the same weapon issued to the soldiers of the newly minted US Army. The founder did not trust a large standing army. They put their trust in the people.

That statement is the precisely reason a person needs assault weapons and weapon that can hold > 100 rounds. The 2nd amendment is not primary for defence against criminals - or for hunting but against the *GOVERNMENT ITSELF*.

The more I see what the government is doing the more I am coming to realize that.
