They trade with Israel and buy Israeli companies as often as permitted, Woodrow — I think it was President Trump who insisted Israel back out of a deal to let China manage the Haifa docks, and there were not long ago discussions about China building a highway connecting the docks to [possibly Jordan and Egypt?] and making Israel the shipping hub for the Middle East. Some Chinese, like some South Koreans, study the Talmud to absorb whatever ineffable thing it is that makes Jews so successful.

On the other hand, after an ancient, forgotten community of Chinese Jews was rediscovered by the outside world a few years ago, the Chinese government first publicized them — presumably to generate tourist income — but now are persecuting them, possibly following the pattern of persecuting anything outside the State that put the Falun Gong and the Uighurs in the target zone. But there is no Jew hate as such.
