Likely to many reading this don't remember CASTRO emptying his prisons using the 1978 Mariel boat lift as cover.

We inherited over 1,000++ Serious Felony criminals. All under a nice but weak DEMOCRAT President Carter. It took years for the US Marshall's and FBI to find them and isolate them from the public.

Once locked up they even rioted and took hostages in 1987 at the Atlanta Federal Prison .
