#2 Keep an eye on Cyprus. Turkey already has a foothold on the north shore in the form of it's Quisling "republic".

#3 ...The last time these two wonders of the ancient world went at it, both sides managed some stunning blue-on-blue incidents, including a destroyer on each side and several aircraft. Will be interesting to see how they screw it up this time.

And they will.

Time for a diversion or two.

#8 NATO question: if the alliance defends its members against attackers, then doesn't that mean that NATO must respond as if Turkey is an enemy if they attack Greece?

Time to evac all US personnel and equipment from Turkey, especially the B61 nuclear bombs, before they become hostages. Move it all to Crete, Souda Bay Naval Base is already there, with US forces routinely interoperate there. Time to expand and make the presence permanent, and pull all that off Turkish soil. Plus its in a great strategic location in the Eastern Med.

#9 ^considering in 1974 all Turkey got was a slap on the wrist for violating human rights... I wouldn't expect any NATO response other than a strongly worded letter.
