#4 Why the CIA is silent on all this affair.

The thing is, of course, that there is very little risk when proper lab procedures are rigorously followed, but Chinese researchers never have. Perhaps the ethos of the wet market permeates the lab as well.

But expecting the CIA to reveal all that to the general population is to mistake the purpose of the organization. If they failed to inform the president at the time — Barack Obama —that is one thing. But for the rest of us the job of discovery and informing belongs to the news media, not the CIA.
