#17 Speaking of... uh... rushing to the aid of Los Angeles, what's up with the Mercy? Big media hoopla over the weekend about Monday morning departure. Bummed I was at having slept in and missed it (bumming somewhat mitigated by being more bummed about closure of Cabrillo). Then, yesterday, there she was, heading out to sea on more or less the course you'd expect. Pretty sure she made it out of sight. Okay, fair weather and swallow yer sneeze! But now, as I type, there she goes again, same bat course, same bat channel.
