#1 I'd take the money, but I still wouldn't vote for him.

#2 $500 million shared among 350 million Americans = $1,000,000 per American.

There are three kinds of people in this world: People who can do math, and people who can't.

#3 Math is way, way off - he spent about $500 million by most accounts, so ($500,000,000 / 330,000,000) = $1.51 each.

Where's my check?

#4 You may remember, Rick wouldn't accept Victor Laslow's money. Just say'n.

#5 Morons. They can't do simple arithmetic, and they think that there's some magical piñata called "the rich" that can be whacked to produce trillions in government funds.

As rich as he is, Bloomberg's entire fortune is not much more than what this country spends each year just on K-12 schoolkids' subsidized lunches.

The nation's real wealth is still dispersed among tens of millions of middle- and upper-middle income households.

You'd think that media figures earning high 6 figures or even a million-plus would know this stuff.... morons.

#7 /\ Remember the following: "Wealth is not Money. Wealth can produce Money, but Money is just a Result..." Socialist think they can create Wealth from thin air by fiat.

#8 ...aka the Magic Money Tree(tm)

BTW, I don't recall being a mandatory class to get journalism credentials. It all took a nose dive when they ended it as a trade and move the money making scheme to universities.

#9 In fairness, they were told there would be no math - but they went ahead anyway...

#11 They don't have to study math to become journalists but the should have at least learned basic arithmetic.

#12 ...but, but Bernie believes that math.

#13 Math isn't the only problem here. I'm no fan of Twitter and I don't use it. Still, this whole deal was started by discussion of a Twitter post. Didn't anyone in the original thread catch the mistake? If so, didn't the talking head who highlighted the tweet read far enough down to see it was wrong? Any way you slice it, seems like echo chamber commentary like Twitter promotes isn't any friend of fact checking or editorial peer review.

#14 It's beyond math. The logic is absent too.

Even if you or Bernie Chavez or Hugo Sanders confiscated Bloomberg's entire fortune in order to pay off, say, student debt, it wouldn't even begin to make a dent in these people's $1.5 trillion liability.

Our elites are morons.

#15 I "could" do that, too. But I can't.

#17 The math mistake and nobody noticing explains a lot about lefties.
Posted by rjschwarz 2020-03-06 17:49||   2020-03-06 17:49|| Front Page Top

#18 The height of arrogance. Bloomberg is so hide bound in the notion that his ideas and his direction for the country is the right one, he blows a ton (or more) of his money on crappy ads. This is the same guy who blew a ton of money buying his way around term limits to obtain a third term as the mayor of NYC. What a putz. Small in stature but large in ego.

#19 As of last year, Mr. Bloomberg’s estimated net worth was $55.5 billion. What he spent on this campaign is lost in rounding errors.

But no, confiscating his entire fortune wouldn’t do much against the national debt, or even against New York City’s debt.
