#1 If the Ukrainian plane shoot down was intentional this statement would be factually correct.

Had there been US casualties the political damage inflicted on the Trump administration would have been mitigated somewhat.

Trump is being blamed by nominally non-moonbat Western elites even now.

If the US had retaliated it is not inconceivable that Trump would have been forced to resign or removed over this. In any case he would have been neutered vis-a-vis Iran.

#2 /\ It is difficult for me to believe that the Iranians did not know about the Ukrainian plane, it's schedule, destination, and who was aboard.

Unless I've missed something, there does not appear to be any Iranian political or military personnel on board the flight. Not one.
