NYC has 25 years of competent rule under Giuliani, Bloomberg and their police commissioners Bratton and Kelly. From 1990-2015, the violent crime rate fell off a cliff. Homicides in NYC fell by 85%.
An EIGHTY-FIVE PERCENT DECREASE -- nearly all of it due to Giuliani-Bratton's reforms, including data-driven "Compustat" allocation of beat patrol resources, enforcement against petty thieves and so-called aggressive policing.

All of which the leftist moron De Blasio has thrown out the window.

Which means we're now into the reverse 25-year cycle. Back to Fort Apache, The Bronx.
Back to "Death Wish" subway cars owned by predatory punks and maniacs harassing your neighbor Mr. Goetz.
Graffiti, piss, needles, vermin everywhere: "three-rat days."
Wolfpack in the parks.
Brooklyn pogroms against the Hasidim.
Back to thousands of murders each year.

Only 24% of voters bothered to vote in 2013, of which he got 72% of the votes. Turnout in 2017 was even lower; even so, he fell to 67% of the votes. Fortunately for his future reputation, the New York City mayoralty is term-limited, so he can only serve two consecutive terms. If, later, he should run and win again, New Yorkers will deserve what they get.
